If you want to truly get away from it all, then this is the place for you. It is in a very private and very beautiful setting. It is very peaceful and quiet. The house is new and beautiful. The cabinets were pretty stocked which is good if you forgot to pack something or needed an ingredient in something you were cooking. We had some popcorn, watched some movies, and played some of the games that were provided there. We were not able to use the fire pit while we were there because of the risk of fire at the time. We did use the grill. This place is very nice. It was a little too "away from it all" for me though. It is fifteen minutes on gravel to get to the highway and about 10 minutes to town after that. No wifi. We couldn't even get cell phone service out there which made me a little uncomfortable. Aside from that, it is a great place to spend time with family. We had a great time!
Very clean, cozy and brautiful cabin! We loved that there was no neighbors in sight except for the beautiful wildlife in the yard. Would rent this cabin again!!
We absolutely loved staying at this beautiful property!! The house itself is gorgeous . It is close to Crazy Horse monument, Mt. Rushmore, jewel or wind cave and downtown Custer. But, when back at the house we were able to relax and completely disconnect . We had fires at night, made s'mores, and stargazed. There are lots of deer on and around the property along with turkey and several other wildlife. We loved our stay !! Thank you for sharing your lovely home!!

Our family of five enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cabin that is well located in the heart of the Black Hills. The cabin is secluded and quiet with abundant wildlife in the area. It made for a great vacation. Thank you for sharing your cabin.
The perfect spot to depart for your daily activities and the perfect spot to relax and enjoy incredible nature and views. The deer and rabbits made us feel very welcome on their little slice of heaven as did the owners by providing an incredible place to rest our heads and hang out in the Black Hills.
The nighttime view of the stars was nothing short of spectacular. Millions of stars that can't be seen like this many places in the country, two shooting stars that lasted for not just a second or two but five to seven seconds - changing color as they disappeared. To think we may have been the last people on earth to ever see them is just plain cool.
Mt. Rushmore (been on my bucket list for going on 30 years - and it remains there as I want to come back again during the winter, it is amazing), Sylvan Lake, Crazy Horse, the 1880's steam engine Train Ride (took me back to my childhood), the town of Keystone and much more were easily accessed from this location. There was still so much more to do, 3 days was not enough.
The home was just perfect. Designed and decorated to match the area in which it resided perfectly. Stylish, comfortable, well stocked and visually appealing inside. Although not used, a washer and dryer were available and would have been great for a longer stay. A fire pit that was put to good use, a gas BBQ grill that did not get much rest over the 3 days, the table and chairs on the patio that got to know us well - were all terrific to have.
The town of Custer is a short drive and has everything you need. We stopped on the way in and stocked up on what we thought we would need at the local grocery store. Breakfast items, meats for grilling, accompanying sides, vegetables/fruits for snacks and beverages for all different times of the day.
Bottom line, if this property is available during the time you plan to be in the area, do yourself a favor and enjoy what this home has to offer. A return trip is sure to happen.
This cabin was the highlight of our visit to South Dakota. It was tidy, well-stocked, and furnished nicely. I don't usually take the time to leave a review, but when I think of roasting marshmallows on the outdoor fire pit with my family, the beautiful view (not a neighbor in sight! Just pine trees and the occasional deer), the easy driving distance to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Jewel Cave, we have such fond memories of our trip that I have to let you know that this rental is awesome!
