About Charlotte Perry

My business is LUXbnb, we offer short-stay properties in wonderful neighborhoods in Northwest Washington including those areas in high demand by visitors, i.e. Capitol Hill, DuPont Circle, Georgetown, and the NW neighborhood or the Palisades. Be generous and share the knowledge of LUXbnb, your source for short-stay rentals in Washington, with your friends, family and colleagues.

A bit about me...I am a former Californian who, after 15 years in DC, is now an honorary Washington native. Being well traveled both domestically and internationally has given me a great appreciation for the enrichment contact with others brings to our experience. I am well-versed on the 'must-see' sights, monuments and museums of our culturally rich city, along with the unique experiences your find only in Washington. We share that insight with our guests in our property Welcome Guides which we send upon confirmation.

We very much enjoy hosting visitors to our Nation's Capital and ensuring that they are able to make the most of their visit.

Reviewer Comments:

We had a great stay in this great house. The location was absolutely perfect, and 9 adults stayed very comfortably and never felt crowded. The house was beautiful and the bathrooms were nicely updated. The kitchen was nicely equipped. The neighborhood was wonderful. If I could make just one suggestion, it would be to add some additional comfortable seating in the living room. We had a great stay, thank you!

Reviewer Comments:

I will begin by saying that the location is fabulous and Kevin from Lux is very pleasant . That being said there are a number of things I'd like to address. There is only one TV in this large house and it doesn't work. I requested service on it many times. The patio furniture is dirty and not set up. I've requested a parking pass repeatedly and not received one. I've been fortunate not to get a ticket or towed. There was a mouse in the master bedroom and the exterminator( wonderful guy) came 2 days later. I moved out for those 2 days. You should have arranged it the next day no matter what the cost. The thermostat has been programmed and you can't override it so it can get rather warm upstairs. Closet space is plentiful, upstairs bathrooms have been renovated. This is not a place for a family with little children because of all the steep staircases. The downstairs furniture is old, tired and worn. It desperately needs to be updated. The neighborhood is charming!

Great location - great place - great fun!!

  • 5 of 5

We took our family - 7 adults and 2 grandchildren - to DC for the Christmas holiday. This place was a beautiful find!!! More than enough room for everyone, space for family time and games, and spotlessly clean. We were so pleased not only with the house, but the location as well. We were within walking distance of great restaurants, great sightseeing and public transportation. While We wouldn't normally take our auto to DC we were pleasantly surprised at the availability of parking. (Probably because everyone was out if the city for the holidays!). Overall, a five star property for us! Oh, and the service from the management company was excellent. Had to contact them (through our own fault) with regards to the alarm (by the way, another plus!) and the response was immediate, pleasant and extremely helpful! Overall, if you want a great place in a great location with excellent service - this is the place for you!! (Did I mention we LOVED this place?)

Reviewer Comments:

Our expectations were high, but our stay at this Capitol Hill Historic Home definitely exceeded our expectations. Let me describe it to you in terms of the LOCATION and the HOUSE itself. First - the location. If you’re looking for a location where you can walk to the Capitol and the (amazing) Eastern Market (food, restaurants, market), this location is ideal. We parked our car on the street (with a visitors pass) and left it there for the week. We walked EVERYWHERE - museums, restaurants, etc. I found myself imagining what it would be like to live here and work on Capitol Hill. Many of the neighbours do. They are an eclectic bunch, including young keen wanna-be future-politicians, families, and empty nesters. The people-watching in this neighbourhood is amazing. By the way, there are TONS of joggers. I've never seen so many fit people! The house itself is lovely. I have lived in very old and very modern homes, and I appreciate how the owners of this house managed to combine the character and elegance of such a historic home with modern conveniences. The bathrooms are all fully renovated and beautiful. There is a ton of space - high ceilings, several bedrooms, and four floors to explore. It is also very clean (which you don’t always get with old homes). The backyard garden is lovely and there is a nice patio table on the back veranda. So, in sum, we were very satisfied with this rental and would highly recommend it to friends. LuxBnB was very responsive to our Qs in advance of our arrival, and everything was as it should be (or better) for our stay.
