Come enjoy a beautiful mountain cabin on Lake Wallenpaupack. Variable nightly rates.
Lakefront cabin on Lake Wallenpaupak in the private community of Sunny Point. Our lakefront vacation cabin commands one of the best locations on the lake. The cabin is a perfect get-a-way in any season. Two large picture windows facing eastward provide an unobstructed lake view. Stroll down a gentle sloping gravel pathway to the lakeside patio for morning coffee and a beautiful sunrise. When evening rolls around take in the awesome glow of a moon rising above the mountains with your favorite beverage. Schmann's Nature Reserve directly across the cove restricts development meaning an uninhabited, wooded shoreline to mountaintop. Good hiking there too!
So that maximum pleasure is enjoyed, during the summer season 6 to 7 night minimum stay is preferred.
Enjoy swimming, fishing, boating, sailing from our private dock or enjoy the warmth of the summer sun by just sunbathing! Fall foliage is alive with fantastic blends of red, gold, yellow, brown leaves you can view right from the cabin. In winter, snuggle up to the full stone fireplace after a day of ice fishing or snowmobiling. No need to go anywhere, just enjoy being at the lake.
This home is family inherited from my parents Audrey and Bernie (AuBern) and great for families with children and pets. Yes, we are pet friendly! Newly remodeled cabin features two bedrooms with queen beds and a large loft for the kids. The loft has two single beds. Six people can sleep comfortably between both downstairs and loft.
Improvements continue! A new stair case was installed from the first floor to the basement. Accessing the washer/dryer is so much easier without needing to go outside!
A custom bathroom is all rage! Cement trough sink with pour faucet, Italian floor tiles, corian tub surround, and updgraded eco-toilet.
A large area wood deck spans the entire frontside of the cabin. Bar-b-ques, picnics and general entertaining are ideal for guests and friends.
You can tell we love our cabin and know you will too!

My father acquired our cabin in 1964 and it has been THE vacation spot for my family and friends. We live in Hawaii and return several times a year to enjoy 'the serenity of a clear blue mountain lake' and change of seasons.
Rick purchased this cabin in 1964
Our cabin has been in the family for over five decades. We love the wooded shoreline of the lake. Close to Scranton-Wilkes Barre, New York City, Newark International Airport. The quaint town of Hawley is less than five miles away. The area is a good location for antique shopping, fall foliage viewing, summer fun.
Lake Wallenpaupack is notable for fishing, hunting, and most all water sports. We enjoy our private dock for swimming, boating, and skipping rocks. You can row across the cove to the Schmann's Nature Reserve to hike along the trails. Or boat over to Epply Island for a picnic lunch and exploring. In the fall, the mountainside explode with color!
Beautful lake house right on the lake. View of lake from almost every room. Great porch to hang out on too. Loved lounging on the dock and floating in rafts. We lit campfire both nights loved that the fire pit right by the lake with nice chairs. Wish owner had let me know about his rafts in basement before I spent so much time blowing up mine. Cons were not a great house for a toddler as there is no beach area at house just a rock wall at lakes edge, we looked longingly at next door neighbors beach area; and small child can easily fall off porch. Also expect to be tailgated aggresivly by locals on 590, they show no mercy for people unfamiliar with area. Lastly restaurant options seem limited but maybe we just didn't explore enough. But why go anywhere when the lake house is so enjoyable.
We loved our stay at AuBern House. It was even better than we expected, and the pictures did not do the house justice, in my opinion! We definitely felt the love and the family history floating around in this house. My fiance wants to visit again this summer. I said: "Oh, let's look for something new next time." She said: "No, I felt very at home there, right away. And so did Rusty [our dog]."
A very cozy place with a great view of the lake. Everything was very tidy and well-equipped. Coming home from a day of hiking and building a fire in the living room was a real highlight.
Looking forward to more happy days at AuBern in the future.
This house has everything we wanted. It has an old fashioned cottage feel and yet a modern kitchen, bath, and heating/plumbing. We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. Did not expect wifi but it was available though you will want to stay off your devices and just enjoy the beauty right off the front porch.
So appreciated the firewood available since the firepit right by the lake was our favorite part of our stay.
You must get up early at least once and see the sunrise over the lake. Perfect.
They truly do have the best view of the lake. And we could bring our dog!
Didn't want to leave the property but I did
enjoy walking the trail at nearby Shuman Nature Preserve.
Our family had a wonderful time at Aubern House. Everyone enjoyed swimming, kayaking and a day out in a motor boat. The house delivered as promised. Cosy and quaint, but with everything one needs in a home away from home. It is also in a wonderful community with low traffic roads for morning walks and runs. We hope to return next Summer.
We enjoyed spending Our mini vacation in this beautiful townhouse. Everything was perfect! The house was so clean and cozy. We we amazed how owners cared about every detail to make our vacation great. We can't wait to go there again soon!!!
We visited this lakefront property the first week in May with our family. The home is so cozy and was very well outfitted! We were pleasantly surprised to find the kitchen stocked with all the cooking spices we needed for the meals we planned while visiting. (We love to cook!) The beds were comfortable, the linens were white and clean like a hotel and the bathroom was beautiful. We would certainly visit again. Thanks Rick!!
