We have loved staying at this home; it's gorgeous on a sunny day and cozy in the snow! Great walks out the front door and easy access to Fairply make it so convenient and easy to manage a group while still giving me a vacation! House is super clean and has everything you need for a wonderful stay.
We spent new years 2017 here with another family. It is a wonderful place. Very nice furnishings, well equipped kitchen and a very comfortable bed. I would recommend hitting the South Park Brewery in Fairplay while you are in the area. The couple that own it were wonderful to visit with. We enjoyed seeing their brewing operation! The only thing that could be better is the internet. It is quite slow. Sufficient to check e-mail, but not much more. If your looking to disconnect from the world while getting away in the mountains, its no big deal. If you need to stay connected to work while on vacation, it may be a limiting factor.
This cabin was just as beautiful as the pictures. Our family had a wonderful Christmas weekend in this winter wonderland. Whenever we stay in Fairplay, this is where it will be!
My husband and I + our son and his wife spent 10 days in this beautiful home. EVERYTHING was perfect. The home is situated far enough from Fairplay to give the feeling of being in the country and yet close enough to pop over to small-city life in less than 10 minutes. Our objective for this vacation was to hike, read/study and relax...this home provided all of that and more. Mount Sherman is so close and we were able to climb it in 1/2 day. Many other hiking trails are nearby and overall we hiked over 82 miles in that week. In the evening, we had great dinners cooked in a well equipped kitchen. Hours were spent around the dining room table with the electric fireplace on behind us - beautiful ambiance. In the morning the weather was nice enough to sit out on the patio with a cup of coffee. The bedrooms were nicely decorated and the beds comfortable and warm with flannel sheets. Many nights we sat out around the fire pit with a glass of wine making smores....thanks for the marshmallows! We visited Alma, Breckenridge and Frisco and had a delightful time in those towns. This home provided exceptional amenities in all areas and we were greatly pleased with our choice. I had spoken with the owner Caitlin before arriving and she was good-natured and informative. After we had left, we had unknowingly left a piece of jewelry behind. We discovered this upon our return to Arizona, promptly called Caitlin and she had the jewelry back in our hands within 4 days! Incredible. Caitlin and Phil (the property manager) were very concerned that all went well and they are committed to ensuring that the property presents perfectly in every possible way. Overall, there is just a warm "homey" feel to this residence. We loved it so much that we intend to book again for future vacations. Thank you for sharing your home with us - it truly was way beyond our expectations.
This was a spectacular location for our fall aspen viewing vacation. Some of the most beautiful sights we saw were right there on the property. The cabin was very comfortable and conveniently located to nearby Fairplay. I would like to share an observation or two. It would have been nice to have known beforehand the a Keurig was available. The listing only mentioned a coffeemaker. The guests staying in the upstairs bedroom did not have anyway to hang anything. The downstairs bedrooms each have a very nice closet but nothing upstairs. Not even a hook. The cabin was very clean but we did see dog hair. Guests with allergies need to be warned in advance that even though dogs are not allowed the owners do bring their dog. Directions to the fish pond did not get us there or else we drove right by it. Overall, we would stay there again and did enjoy the cabin.
It's a great house - we came up for a weekend with friends and found a place quiet and secluded enough to really relax and close enough to everything to make day trips easy. The kitchen was great, the double grills awesome. Be sure to make use of the two hammocks outside!
A beautiful home perfect for getting away from it all and unplugging from daily life. Comfortable, warm and stocked with everything you need. Make sure to chill out in one of the two hammocks and just enjoy the nature.
