We have stayed at the Sea Watch for the past 12 years and love it. This was our first time renting this unit, and in fact our first time not using Century 21 (the on location rental agency).
The unit was nicely equipped, having everything we needed in the way of kitchen items including a sharp knife (something most units don't seem to have). When we entered the unit it smelled of cigarette smoke. To be fair we actually arrived before the cleaning crew. We notified the owners, mostly so we wouldn't be held responsible. They were very apologetic and responsive. The cleaning crew used fabreeze and we opened the door and balcony and had it cleared out quickly. There was no residual smell so this was not an issue whatsoever. It just shows how seriously they took our complaint and acted quickly. Sea Watch has a new no smoking policy even on the balconies and I wonder if that contributed to people smoking inside? Either way the policy did not seem to be enforced as we saw many renters smoking on their balconies.
The only drawbacks were the need to go to 77th street to pick up and drop off the keys, with Coastal Highway traffic that becomes a process. And the lack of a balcony table to eat at, but I imagine many things go missing when renting out the unit, there where chairs and small end tables. My wife says I am too quirky and it didn't bother her at all, so this isn't really a knock on the unit. I did go to a few thrift stores to try to find a cheap table to donate but couldn't locate any that would work. I had my breakfast at the dining room table inside this year, and I lived.
All in all a good unit in a good building. The Sea Watch is very nice, great pool, great beach, we had a fantastic time.
