You couldn't ask for a better location or a friendlier owner to rent from! He made us feel at home. The house was perfect for us. 4 adults and 2 toddlers. The view of the St. Lawrence River was spectacular! The cove provided a perfect spot for kayaks and fishing! The fire pit was also a nice place to hang out and cook a meal. The boat ride was one of the highlights of our trip. We hope to return soon.
Thank you for the review... Cappuccino is missing Sofia and Ava! It was a joy having all of you. Little voices especially brightened the Island for me. I too hope you return soon!
Don't book this cottage! I want to make sure I can rent it every year!
Marty (and mostly "Cappy" the dog) are great hosts. The cottage is set in a beautiful spot with all the extras you don't have to worry about bringing. This is a big plus to not have to bring utensils, linens, etc. The cottage is very roomy and nicely furnished. Our family still lives close to the area but my husband and I have moved to Texas 30+ years ago. We rent a cottage every year for a mini family get together. This was our first time at this cottage but will definitely be our FIRST consideration when booking every year. So please do not book your reservation the second week in September:)! Thank you again Marty and Cappy for letting us enjoy your beautifully located cottage. We had a WONDERFUL time.
Thank you! It was our pleasure to have you with us... thx m&c
Perfect Location and Excellent Accommodations
Marty and his family and friends were so welcoming. The dockage could not be better!
Plenty of places to roam, fish, be alone, or join the crowd. Marty took a two day trip and offered his office (front porch) to us. We took advantage and it is amazing! The big ships come within 300 yds.
Thanks Marty and Cappie!

Amazing setting and gracious host. Highly recommended
This is the second year in a row we stayed at the cottage and it didn't disappoint us. I don't think you can find a better host on Wellesley Island than Marty and the grounds are beautiful. If you decide to rent a boat then there is no shortage of dock space to park it. Clean, spacious, and he truly wants you to have the best vacation on his own little island paradise. Thank you Marty, again, for everything. We had a blast and are already looking forward to 4th of the July 2018!
It was wonderful to see you all again! With love and thanks m
Our St.Lawrence River Home
What else can I say other than what other 5-star raters have said. It is all true with so much more *** AMAZING Owners & Property. My family is from the "River" and I have always considered myself a St. Lawrence River Kid even at age 57, so getting back if only for a week is really special to me and my wife. It felt just like family when we first met Linda & Marty this week. We have been here not even 3 whole days yet and we decided we are coming back same time next year. After this week I would definitely consider this our second home for our future vacations if they will have us. Thanks again Linda & Marty for everything, We Love You Guys, Dan and Donna King
The finest accommodations in the 1000 Islands
Four of us spent a splendid week at Elderberry Cottage in August. My husband and I previously owned a cottage on Wellesley Island and know the area very well while our friends were first-timers. Linda and Marty are the ideal hosts--they are right there if you need anything but absolutely respectful of your privacy. The cottage is very well equipped, especially in the kitchen, where all the basics are there to enable you to cook in as much as you like without spending a lot for condiments and flour for example. We especially appreciated the kayaks, swimming in the protected cove, the barbecue, and perhaps most of all, seeing the huge freighters coming and going close enough to clearly see the seamen aboard. The region is one of the truly unique places left in the US, unspoiled by the sameness so typical of most vacation places, with plenty to do and one couldn't make a better choice than this to enjoy it. Be sure to visit the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton.
