Heart of the Ocean Guest House is a fully restored 1885 Nova Scotia Cape. Set on hill overlooking the bay it has panoramic views of West Green Harbour and Jenkin's Island.
The main floor of this spacious home has a large comfortably furnished, sunny living room with views of the harbour and a set of French doors that lead directly to the oceanfront garden. The kitchen is fully-equipped with an adjoining dining room complete with antique table, chairs and sideboard. There is tastefully decorated front parlour that enjoys the afternoon sun and is a perfect spot for a bit of peaceful reading. Also downstairs is a 2-piece powder room and laundry facilities.
The house sleeps six comfortably. Upstairs there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has a view of the harbour, a double bed, an ensuite 4-piece bathroom and a separate dressing room. A second bedroom has a double bed and a view of the garden and the third bedroom has two twin beds and a view of the harbour.
The house is nicely furnished with a mix of antique pieces and comfortable slip-covered sofas and chairs. A few coastal-themed decorations convey a sense of place without going overboard. Heart of the Ocean Guest House is located in the small seaside hamlet of West Green Harbour, a few kilometers from Lockeport and about a 15 to 20 minute drive to Shelburne.
Overlooking the tranquil waters of West Green Harbour, this charming cottage has over 480 feet of sheltered water frontage. On the property there is a natural sandy beach and private ocean access perfect for launching your own kayak or canoe.
Just down the road from Castaway Ocean Lodge and Harbor House, this cottage could be booked as a companion cottage for larger groups.
The area is dotted with dozens of beautiful beaches. The nearest is Lockeport's Crescent Beach which is a gorgeous white sandy beach approximately 1.5 km or 1 mile long.
Louis Head Beach is another beautiful beach in the area.
Lockeport is the closest town. Lockeport hosts a number of festivals and events during the summer months: Canada Day Celebrations, Harmony Bazaar Festival of Women in Song and the Lockeport Sea Derby.
The Canada Day Celebration is always on the first of July, Harmony Bazaar typically take place on the last weekend in July while the Sea Derby is usually on the second weekend in August. Crescent Beach Centre hosts the Sea Derby and a number of family events, such as the Beach Bash. Also worth investigating is Nova Scotia's only Registered Historic Streetscape, made up of five houses built by descendants of Jonathan Locke between 1836 and 1876. The houses offer an interesting cross section of historical architecture with excellent examples of Colonial, Georgian and Victorian styles. A walking-tour guidebook is available at the Little School Museum, which displays artifacts from early settlers.
The Historic Town of Shelburne is about a 15 â?? 20 minute drive. A charming and historic town Shelburne is set on a truly spectacular harbour. The harbour is unspoiled by industry or shipping and is used primarily for recreational activities like sailing and boating.Heart of the Ocean Guest House has a Sunday to Sunday rental period.

To secure your vacation rental, a deposit of $500.00 CDN per week and the damage deposit waiver fee are due upon booking. Your booking is not confirmed until this deposit has been received. The balance of the rental fee is due 90 days prior to your arrival. Payment can be made either by Email Transfer, Visa, MasterCard or personal cheque in Canadian Dollars.Damage Deposit Waiver Fee:
We require a $45 non-refundable Damage Deposit Waiver Fee for all reservations in lieu of charging an additional $500 security deposit to the property rental rate. This privilege is offered to you as our way of saying thank you for your business. The waiver covers all minor accidental damage or breakage up to $500. Coverage does not cover extraordinary cleaning charges, damage resulting from negligence or willful or wanton conduct or damage by a pet (in those properties that allow pets). Guests must notify the Sandy Lane Enterprises Ltd. at once of any damage during occupancy and submit a written report or the Damage Waiver is void. For reservations of which the rental amount is over $2500 weekly, an additional refundable security deposit may be required.
