Our family enjoyed our stay in your beautiful home. Everything was clean and comfortable and it was a great location! Thank you.
What a wonderful little oasis of quiet calm in a crazy world! Hubby, daughter and I had a fantastic weekend break in this cute upside down beach house (beds down/kitchen up). Decor is more Granny Chic than Shabby Chic, it feels like you are visiting grandma's house, so you immediately feel cosy in a home, not just a vacation rental.
Facilities were excellent, plenty of hot water (just remember to have 4 min showers in CA), fully equipped kitchen, gas fire for the cool nights, windows open up and let the sound of the waves lap through, board games, double garage, cute little private balcony for your morning coffee, and a wee slice of the sea from the lounge upstairs. The king and queen/twin beds are comfy and linens upmarket, plenty of towels in the cupboards and even though we didn't use it there is a full laundry too.
There is a little front garden with seats where you can sit and put your hiking boots on and chat to the friendly locals who are walking by. We had some great conversations. This is also a fantastic place for dog lovers with an endless parade of pooches, each one as adorable as the last, to pet and fuss over as they head to the Fiscalini Preserve for their exercise.
We loved walking in the preserve at different times of the day, watching the sunset while trying out different wooden chairs. The rockpool beach on the opposite side was great to browse and rock hop, and the fields at the end of the road were full of inquisitive deer. We counted 20 on the morning we were leaving.
Debbie who organised our stay was very friendly and easy to work with and made it all so easy.
I would 100% recommend this house if you want a quiet place to stay in Cambria to unwind and relax.
My boys (15 ands 17) and I took a week trip up the Central coast for some R&R and to tour some colleges. We spent 3 days in this lovely home and it was amazing. It was clean, spacious and appreciated all the thoughtful touches like hand soap, tissues, and loads of towels. The kitchen was well stocked. We walked to the beach every evening to watch the sunset. We hiked the nearby preserve every morning and saw whales, dolphins, and seals. We took a day trip to Big Sur. I can't wait to bring my husband here and add in some wine tasting!
After my husband’s mother passing away in August, and settling her estate, we needed to just get away. We live in Denver so my husband really wanted the ocean. After looking at all the properties that were available on VRBO, we chose this wonderful home. We, along with his cousin and wife spent 4 days here. The home had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything that we needed to cook most of our meals. The beds were comfortable and at night the sound of crashing waves put us to sleep. The town was great for shopping and wine tasting, and we had one of the best Tri Tip sandwiches at Main Street Grill, I highly recommend it. We also took a kayak trip with “Cubby” at Sea For Yourself Kayak Outfitters “SFYKO”. What an amazing way to see the area and wildlife. Cubby was full of historical and wildlife information as well as information on the Hearst family and the protected property that is owned by them still today. All in all, I would not only recommend this home, but the area in general. Our few days in Cambria were filled with both adventure and relaxation.
I am a single mom with three teens. We really needed to escape, connect and have fun. This exceptional home exceeded all expectations. It has a great location, loved the access to beach and nearby trails. Easy trip to Big Sur, San Simeon and local beach areas, as well as the wonderful and delightful town of Cambria. The neighborhood is quiet. We enjoyed daily sightings of dear and wild life.
The house itself was beautiful and comfortable. It has all the amenities you would need and want. It was clean and contemporary. The beds are comfortable and I just can not say what a great find this was for our family. It was perfect. In addition, Deb who handled our reservation was great and easy to work with.
All around I highly recommend this lovely Cambria Home and definitely will look forward to returning in the future.
I'm very glad we found this property. I was initially looking for homes with a little more architectural "pizzaz", but they were considerably more expensive. While this home is decorated more towards the taste of my grandmother, I ultimately remembered that I wasn't buying it to life in, just to use for a few days. And I'm very glad we did! What it was was perfectly comfortable, nicely equipped, spotlessly clean and in great repair. The beds are outstanding, and linens and towels are excellent. All the major stuff was in place, but what I really appreciate was the attention to small details, like a drawer of foil and zip-lock bags, laundry detergent and fresh batteries (they came in very handy when a smoke detector started to chirp).
While you might want to spend more to see the ocean from the house, we were perfectly happy we did not! This house is a very short walk from two public access points, and a very reasonable walk to the stunning public "ranch" just to the north. And its a short drive to town. And for us, the savings were much better spent on food and wine! :-)
We are located on the ocean side of Hwy. 1 in the Marine Terrace part of Cambria. Our home is just a short stroll to the ocean access & tidepools which people of all ages seem to enjoy. We are also a 5 minute walk, if that, to the entrance of the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve which is an ocean bluff headland with many walking trails. 2 milies North of the house down Hwy 1 is Moonstone Beach & a terrific boardwalk, restaurants and you are close to the West Village of Cambria too.
Hearst Castle is about a 15 to 20 minute drive North of Cambria & beyond that is Ragged Point & further North many State Parks & Big Sur. East of us about 20 minutes you will find the Paso Robles Wine Region with a few hundred wineries.spread throughout this diverse area.
