Wake up and have a beautiful walk on the beach and refresh your face in a fresh water spring.
Ending the day watching the sunset over the island of MOOREA.
This house is a real treat! It has a beautiful garden view, great host and it's nice and clean. Perfect location, next to the lagoon. Paddle, kajak etc. available. Absolute recommendation!! Enjoy your stay there! It's paradise :)
Thank you Thea and Tarepa :) Lots of love, Sylvie
Fare Ylang Ylang was an ideal spot to spend our family vacation. It is located on the best section of Punaauia's white sand beach. We enjoyed the super quick walk (1 minute) down to the beach every morning and sunset. The lagoon out front was perfect for my 21 month old son and young niece who is learning how to swim. The main fare and bungalow were a highlight--very neat architecture throughout.
Our family enjoyed having morning coffee and eating our meals out on the deck...the gardens are beautiful and we loved the sweet scent of the Ylang Ylang blooms.
The amenities (cookware, towels, sheets) were suitable for our stay. I was impressed with the little special touches such as coffee, fruit and jam.
What made our stay extra special was our hostess Tea. She was very helpful (even pre-arrival) and generous. She was available if we had any questions and ensured we were comfortable everyday. If we did have a concern with the house (propane for shower, etc.), she addressed it quickly and efficiently. Mahalo nui loa Tea.
We all hope to return to this special piece of Tahitian paradise. 'A hui hou (until we meet again).
We enjoyed our visit to Fare Ylang Ylang. After spending a week at a "resort", the three couples in our party wanted to experience how Tahitians live. This property has access to the best beach in Tahiti and the aroma's of the gardens fill the house, making it a pleasant environment. The property owner, Tea Urshon, is a wonderful resource to ensure that you make the best of your visit.
It was an exceptional time in a unique place, and only too short of a stay. The main house is very special, with every detail in superb taste. The traditional design with its thatched roof is a rare experience. It never needed air-conditioning as it is designed of air flow in an ingenious way. The additional members of our family stayed the tree house next door which the kids adored. The gardens are just beautiful, and obviously developed with love and taste.
There smells were delicious. The beach in front is perfect for kids with beautiful water, and they couldn't get enough of it. We enjoyed seeing the local Tahitians enjoying the beach.
I would chose this over a protected resort any day. Snack bars, pizza, chicken etc.. were a 2 minute drive away. This was handy with little kids when we really didn't want to cook or go to a fancy restaurant. Ever the perfect host -owner,Unutea supplied wonderful tropical fruit on our arrival which we enjoyed through our stay . She was very helpful with ideas and suggestions for our stay.
I couldn't think of a better way to experience Tahitian life on Papeete than this unique and special spot. We had stayed on Moorea for couple of weeks but were really glad that we experienced this part of Papeete as well.
We arrived at Fare Ylang Ylang after eight enchanting days in the farflung atolls, anticipating that Papeete and its surroundings would be somewhat less idyllic -- more urban, frankly. To our delight, we were greeted by our host and the scent of blooming ylang ylang, for which this lovely, elegant, yet simple and entirely comfortable house is named. We loved everything about our stay -- the open, traditional archictecture, the Polynesian chic decor, the sensible kitchen, the walk-in shower, the gorgeous gardens, and the white sand beach a minute's walk down the lane. Ylang Ylang is the alternative and the antidote to resort hotel accommodations -- to live, or even wish for, air-conditioning is Tahitian heresy. We vow to return, and next time we will stay longer. How fortunate we are to have found Fare Ylang Ylang. This is the heart and soul of our Tahiti, in fond memory and from now on.
What can I say that has not been said before? This original Tahitian house and garden is your own personal Eden with a fabulous, gracious hostess who, on arrival greeted us with fresh fruits from the garden, fresh baguette and more than sufficient staples to see us through the first couple of days. Tea also drove us to the local market to pick up some groceries. Also, thank you to her daughter who drove us into the airport to enable us to pick up a rental car. We were in awe with the house with the soaring thatched roof with open beams. If you're looking to party - don't go but if you are looking for serenity this is the place to be. The white sandy beach was only 100 yards down the private path from the house and NO crowds. At night, sitting on the deck listening to the sound of the ocean with the scent from the tropical flowers and watching the night sky was really peaceful. Tea was always available if you had any questions but never intrusive. We enjoyed our rum punch and conversation with Tea on our last night. The less expensive way to eat was at the food vans and there are 2-3 less than a 10 minute walk from the house or drive into Papeete on the waterfront there are numerous vans which come out every night around 6:30 p.m. Mauru Uru Tea for the wonderful memories and sharing your beautiful home with the 3 of us during our stay December 20th thru December 26th.
