Drive down a wooded drive to a secluded, pine-shrouded cabin on a low bluff. The amazing view immediately catches your attention as you look across Partridge Lake. Its a Holiday, however, there are only two boats out... one is fishing for Bass and another is pulling a water skier.
You walk through the cabin door into a knotty-pine, 4-season porch with a large, log dining table perfect for family meals or playing board games. Keep going into the main room with a 22' high vault and glass on the entire lakeside. Again, the view is perfect as you settle onto the couch or recliner (my favorate). The open layout of this space is perfect for cooking while you enjoy family and friends.
You walk down the stairs to the lake where you see a 20' pontoon (for your use) and a nice-sized deck at the shoreline.
Before you depart on your first pontoon ride, you set the Sauna timer to start warming, so that when you return it all set for you and several others.
When it's time for bed and you can have total privacy in one of the back bedrooms... or climb the stairs to sleep in one of the two queens in a large (and private) loft.
Wake up early to see the sun rise across the bay or sleep in as late as you like... it is very quiet on this 2 acre Getaway.
Fair warning... you may not want to leave!

I'm in the Software industry and live with my family in Maple Grove, Minnesota... only 90 minutes South of the cabin. This has been my getaway and savior for 20 years... and now I would like to share it with you.
Jason Ohmann purchased this cabin in 1996
Only 90 minutes from the Cites... I immediately fell in love with the property, purchased the lot in 1995 and built on it in early 1996.
You can spend quality-time doing exactly what you want with no outside interruptions or competition for the Lake. It's like having your own private Lake.
Went to the Getaway with a bunch of friends to get away from the "City life" and this was exactly what we'd hoped for. Spent almost every day in the sun having a few drinks and Barbecuing. The lake was always calm and serene at any time of the day - Took some amazing pictures of sunsets and wildlife. When we first arrived Jason gave us an excellent tour of everything we would need for the week to come and I don't think he left one thing out as we were prepared in any situation.
Thanks for such a wonderful week and sharing your cabin with us!
Looks exactly the way a cabin should look! I slept on the deck 1 night watching for northern lights. You were right we did not want to leave.
Our family booked a week vacation at this great cabin on Partridge Lake using the vrbo website. When we were researching places to stay, this looked like a great location. We did have some questions, and Jason was very happy to help us out, answering any and all questions right away. So we booked it for late July.
The location is fantastic, it's only 2 1/2 hours away from the Msp/St Paul metro area, you can get there quickly. You won't spend too much time getting there or home, more time for hanging out at the lake. But it is far enough away that you are out of the cities, and enjoying the lake life.
The cabin itself is very comfortable, we left right at home as soon as we walked in. Main floor has an open floor plan, so if you're hanging out in the dining area, living area, or kitchen, you can still chat with whoever is the other areas. From the cabin the view of the lake is fantastic. While we were there, from the living room alone, we saw a bald eagle land in a tree in the front yard (couple of times), 3 or 4 loons hanging out in the bay, and a deer across the bay getting a drink at the shoreline. Very quiet, we hardly knew anyone else was around during our stay. We did enjoy the CD selection and stereo while making and eating meals or playing games at night. The kitchen was used regularly, and we did grill out on the deck one night too.
We had the pontoon out for tubing with our kids, fishing too. The lake is almost completely surrounded by trees, most of the time (all of the time?) the water was very calm and smooth, perfect for tubing. We did fish for a couple of days too. The lake has a ton of pan fish that the kids caught easily. Also pulled in a nice sized bass too. Lots of fun for them as they were catching and releasing fish for hours.
We were very happy with our stay, had an extremely relaxing stay here. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a Minnesota getaway.
This house was the perfect way to escape city life and the every day stresses of work. The setting is beautiful and included twice daily visits from a bald eagle, who perches on a branch in the back yard to watch the lake and surrounding area for his next meal. One of the many added amenities is a pair of binoculars that were ideal for eagle watching. The beds are comfortable and the bath towels are as plush as any you will find in an upscale hotel. There is no wi-fi and that turned into a big positive. There are many board games, several decks of cards, a sauna and full-size washer and dryer in the basement, and most wonderfuly a dock and pontoon boat that was ideal for exploring the lake. It was as relaxing a week as we have had in a long time. We will be going back.
Nice cabin & thank goodness for the pontoon and good weather. There is NO sandy area for kids to be in the water at this location or any other public location that we could find on this lake. There were no instructions on how to get in the house (the phone number on this listing was/is incorrect) or any other instructions that might be helpful such as needing a special type of gas for the pontoon or where to even find gas in the area. Curiously we noticed a trail camera aimed at the front deck. I found this to be a concern-not sure if it was on or off. There were no window covers on the bedroom windows & they were very dirty. I did clean the windows in the kitchen area so that we could enjoy the view. The sauna was located in the basement and that was very damp & musky. We did not use it. The last 10 or so steps to the lake (out of around 40) are quite crooked and could be difficult for many. We did enjoy our week away but it wasn't what we expected based on his description of the property. Great for many just maybe not for us.
We had great week! They boat was the highlight of the stay. The guys took it out fishing in the mornings and we swam off it in the afternoon. The fish were biting until the heat wave hit! Highs in the 90's made for a few sticky days. We enjoyed the game closet and movies too.
