We really enjoyed our stay at Banta. The lake was full and the view from the house was incredible. We loved the yard. Great fun with the dogs on a chain and playing bean bag toss And spike ball with the kids. Even room for the grand baby to play. Loved soaking in the water on our lawn chairs and floats by the beach area. The house (double wide) was very big. Very big kitchen. The house shows it's age though. Rusted and/chipped sinks, flooring etc. The middle bed droops in the middle so very uncomfortable but all other beds were fine. But it was good enough for what we needed. Loved having morning coffee in the yard watching the sun come up.
The positives are that the house has a great location on the water and the pier was great for just walking out for some fishing. The RV/house park was quiet and family friendly. We were greated immediately upon our arrival. The home is very spacious and was cooled for our arrival.
The negatives were that entrance to the front door was hazardous due to a vine that tripped both my husband and I plus there was vine reaching out to grab you when walking to the front door. Thank goodness we weren't allergic to the strong scent of the flowers growing on the vine. There is skirting on the home that is bulging. Inside the home, anything that wasn't covered appeared clean but when you moved anything, such as the lazy susan on the dining table, it was very filthy including built up dried food that I had to clean . The same in the kitchen when you moved anything setting on the counter top. The coffee maker was very bad. I had to clean it three times prior to making our first pot of coffee. The refrigerator worked well but the vegetable and fruit bins were not secured and extremely difficult to use. The kitchen cabinets were in disarray which made searching for what you need to prepare a meal time consuming when your suppose to be on vacation. Area rugs throughout the home have no slip-resistant backing causing a significant trip hazard. Behind the night stands, the floor has not been cleaned in some time which made us concerned about what it looks like under the beds. In the master bathroom, the garden tub was missing the plug to be able to fill plus it was very dirty with sand and grit in the bottom. When our little one was ready to relax and watch a DVD movie, we discovered the vcr/dvd player was not even connected to the television so I had to reconnect it also.
Overall, the house was not worth the cost of the rental and other fees in our opinion.
Our family had a great time staying at this property, plenty of room for everyone, lots for everyone to do, beautiful scenery, lake was very accessible and plenty of things to do in the area.
Getting 20 somethings to put the tech down isn't easy. The simplicity of the place was what appealed to my wife and I. We enjoyed our stay a great deal. There was lots of laughter. Thanks for helping make the memories.
