Nestled in the La Cloche Mountains and in the heart of Ontario's famous Killarney Wilderness Park, there awaits a cozy and friendly adventure lodge with some of the best fishing in Ontario.
Our camp is on Bear Lake, which is the most remote lake of a connecting chain of 10 lakes on the northern boundary of Killarney Provincial Park. It's a 15.5-mile boat ride from the only road in the area to the lodge. Bear Lake is stuffed with Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Lake Trout, Walleye, Northern Pike and Perch. Bear Lake's claim-to-fame is the Bass fishing. We may have the best Largemouth Bass and Smallmouth Bass fishing in Ontario and maybe all of Canada. Bear Lake is also known for Monster Trophy Walleyes.
Encircling Bear Lake are 25 other great fishing lakes. We have canoe or boat caches on these remote wilderness lakes. These satellite lakes are virtually un-fished with the exception of our guests who have an adventurous spirit and need to explore and find awesome fishing. These lakes are also stuff with Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Walleye and Lake trout. We even have a secret trout lake with excellent Brook Trout fishing.
Other activities include Killarney Wilderness Park Canoe Trips with multiple portaging routes, camping, swimming, wildlife photography, rockhounding and so much more.
In the fall, after all the fishing and adventure travel guests are gone, we have hunting for Moose, Black Bear, Ducks and Grouse.
Bear Lake Fishing
Bear Lake Wilderness Camp is located on a private island in beautiful Killarney Provincial Park in Ontario Canada. The crystal clear waters of Bear Lake that surround the island offer Lake Trout, Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Whitefish, Walleye, and Jumbo Perch.
Our island is remote. From our pickup point in Espanola, Ontario, it's 45-minute boat ride to Bear Lake Wilderness Camp. We provide each two paying customers with a 16-foot aluminum Lund and a Honda 9.9 HP motor. We provide all the gas! From this 16-foot Lund you can fish any point on Bear Lake plus 4 other major lakes.
Our remote location in Killarney Park offers the opportunity to fish where there is little to no fishing pressure. Killarney Park is roughly 40 square miles of Wilderness Park. So in addition to the 10 major lakes you can fish from Bear Lake, we have boats on 25 outlying lakes that offer Fantastic Fishing in a beautiful remote setting.
Nestled in Killarney Provincial Park, and just one ridge from the LaCloche Mountains, Bear Lake Wilderness Camp provides beautiful scenery. Picture walking through the pristine wilderness enroute to a lake where fishing pressure is slight. Imagine fishing a lake with no one else in sight. This is all in the cards for you at Bear Lake.
We have boats on all of these lakes. All you have to do is carry a small trolling motor and your fishing tackle to the next lake. Attach the motor, and away you go!
Some of these lakes are famous for catches of plate-sized panfish. Other lakes will provide trophy Pike as well as offer limit catches of both Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass.
Fishing these back lakes combines fantastic fishing with beautiful scenery. The Angler is rewarded on both counts. It is not unusual for our customers to pull in some trophy size fish on these lakes while enjoying the sights and sounds of the forests.Rates are per adult.
