About Margaret Jensen

I grew up on a farm in Wisconsin and love nature. My family moved to California and lived in Los Altos for several years. Missing the country and the wide open spaces we spent a lot of our weekends driving up to the mountains and lakes where we spent a lot of our leisure time enjoying boating, jet skiing, gold panning, fishing, four wheeling, photographing the beauty of the areas and a host of other activities along with the warm and friendly residents.

Margaret Jensen purchased this house in 1989

Why Margaret Jensen chose California

When we found this property we fell in love with the beauty of the land and the lake. On our first visit we felt like we had come home and made an offer which was accepted and have enjoyed restoring the homes, clearing areas, planting trees, building and making improvements. We love the animals, the beauty and peace that is here and have landscaped and planted vegetation that would attract birds, butterflies, etc. We are conveniently located close to Angels Camp, Murphys & Columbia State Park (a delightful gold mining town that the state has preserved) which have shopping, fun attractions, golfing, live theatre, fine dining, fast food eateries, etc. so everything is nearby and yet we are secluded and enjoy the serene life. We are close to the lake for boating, jet skiing, fishing and gold panning areas. The drive to any of these places is beautiful with majestic mountains, rivers, canyons, caves and lakes. I feel so blessed to live here among the quaint and lovely towns and wonderful people and there is no place I would rather be.

What makes this house unique

The property is conveniently located close to recreation, shopping, entertainment and everything one needs. It is beautiful with a lake and large acreage which offers seclusion as well as walking trails, hiking, fishing, meditation and resting sites, bird watching, history, photography and more. The home has beautiful mature trees, lawn and flowers with porches equipped with tables and chairs to sit and enjoy the scenery, animals and birds. Some sunsets are spectacular and the starlit nights are fabulous. The fields dotted with wild flowers in the spring and beautiful fall colors entice one to get out among them and enjoy the fragrances and beauty.

Lovely Little Gem in Gold Country...

  • 5 of 5

Hallelujah for Glory Manor! Thank You so much Margaret, for all your Fine Hospitality. You are such a pleasure to deal with, although I'm sorry we didn't actually get to meet. Maybe next time! This house was so perfect for our needs & your Grounds are just beautiful. This place made an awesome Home Base for some Birthday Mirth & local Rockhounding. Also, you have such a Sweet Horse. All we had were Green Apples, which I'm not sure were his favorite, but he sure is a Lover anyway! Thanks again for the Little Slice of Paradise...

Family Time

  • 4 of 5

We were looking for a quiet place for our family to spend some quiet time together and we certainly found it at Glory Manor. The property is beautiful, especially being able to see the leaves change. It was very quiet and you certainly felt like you were away from it all. The property was clean, neat and looked just like the pictures. The fireplace was a nice touch in the living room. Margaret was very accommodating and easy to work with. The cookies were wonderful and made it feel even more like home. The house is close to Murphys and Moaning Caverns so there are plenty of things to do during the day. Our family was really able to enjoy our time together. Thank you for sharing.

BEAUTIFUL HIDDEN TREASURE!!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay! The views were breath taking and it was very relaxing. The home is very cute and the owner is very nice and helpful. We HIGHLY recommend taking the long hike to "Natural Bridges" and bring your floatie! It is literally swimming/floating in a cavern - and the best part - IT"S FREE! The historical town of Columbia is also worth seeing. Would definitely stay again! Thanks so much, Tamy, Jason, and Sherell

Reasonable Rates, Nice Property

  • 3 of 5

We needed holiday weekend lodging for three couples attending a nearby event, and this filled our needs. The property was lovely, and some of our party enjoyed a walk to the lake and old Indian grinding stone. The house itself was roomy but a bit worn, although many furnishings were updated, including new bedding and towels. We had some trouble with aging bathroom fixtures and wasps flying around and in the house during the heat of the day but, fortunately, we were there primarily in the evenings and mornings. Our hostess, Margaret, was very gracious and conscientious about our reservation and arrival and made us feel welcome, even with a plate of delicious cookies to greet us! All in all, the value of our experience was worth the cost, which was quite reasonable.

Our wonderful stay at the Glory Manor

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed at the Glory Manor from December 29, 2012 through January 1, 2013. The location was beautiful and we loved the house. It is very close to Murphys and Moaning Caverns is right across the raod. You have to try out the zip lines there. Everything we needed was provided such as bedding, towels, fully equipped kitchen and TV with DVD player and a good selection of movies. Be sure to bring some apples for Margarets sweet horse. We definitely this location for families and couples alike. We can't wait to return.

Valerie.

Wonderful Thanksgiving holiday

  • 5 of 5

Our little family spent wonderful time during Thanksgiving holiday in beatiful Margaret's house. She welcomed us with great cookies, showed us all rooms and made sure that they are warm and cozy.

Kitchen had all necessary plates/pots/pans and we cooked delicious Thanksgiving dinner.

There are plenty of things to do around. Visit Moaning Cavern, Columbia state historic park, nearby Murphy, many good wineries.

Thanks again for great time and your hospitality. We'll be back one day.
