Lake Winnipesaukee Area Cottage Rental Photos and Description

3 bedroom, 1 full bath, sleeps 5

This cottage is within walking distance to many attractions at 'The Weirs'. We have a new 32' dock to tie up to if you have a boat or decide to rent one. There is a patio down next to the water that has a 3 person swing, hammock, gas grill, tables and chairs, and a Tiki Hut with a small refrigerator. Five stairs and you're in the water. You could spend the entire day relaxing right here. We have two one-person kayaks and a 15' canoe.

Within a short walking distance to the Boardwalk, you will find arcades galore, mini-golf, restaurants, water slides, go-carts, batting cages, and The Hobo Train station for a ride to downtown Laconia or downtown Meredith, each with its many shops and restaurants. The Mt. Washington boat also docks at the Boardwalk and offers themed rides and sunset cruises. There are numerous restaurants in the area as well as Funspot Family Center, named 'World's Largest Arcade' by Guinness World Records in 2008. Take the kids on a two minute drive to the Weirs Drive-in, spread out a blanket next to your car and watch the latest movies.

If you would like to vacation with extended family or friends, we also have a three bedroom home adjacent to this property. See Property #396379 for info on that property.

About George or Gena Winchell

Retired Police Officer from Salem, NH PD,. 40 years total. Currently live with wife Gena in Atkinson where we have lived for 30 years raising our three children. We have two grandsons whom we have lots of fun with. My wife loves gardening and spends all day in her large vegetable/flower gardens at home.

Why George or Gena Winchell chose Lake Winnipesaukee Area

When we saw the "million dollar view" from the front of the house we knew that we had to have it. We bought it from our neighbors in 2011, whom we knew for quite some time as we also own the house directly behind this lake house.

Great Cottage with Breath Taking Views

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time vacationing on Lake Winnipesaukee and boy did we find a gem! This cottage has it all (lake side patio with chiminea for late night smores, tiki bar, kayaks, canoe, tubes, hammock) Anything you could think you would need for a relaxing vacation! My son spent most of his time fishing for rock bass of the dock and my daughter floated on the lake for hours. The views can only be experienced from this property.

The cottage itself was quaint, with all the amenities you need. Also close to all the attractions. Weirs Beach, Mount Washington Cruises, Restaurants, Drive-in Movie Theatre, Etc. were all a short walk. Loved walking down to the beach after dinner for ice cream or fried dough. Also close driving distance to Gunstock Resort, Polar Caves and Outlet shopping. We did it all and made priceless memories. Thanks George and Gena....couldn't ask for anything more, we had a great trip!

Owner's Response: We love sharing our cottage and the spectacular views over the lake and the distant mountains. It really is a "Million Dollar view". Helping people create memories is why we have so many repeat families every year.

Perfect Family Get Away

  • 5 of 5

Our family LOVED this property. We will be coming back next year! The home is in the perfect location for families with small children.

Weirs Beach is a small, family friendly, quiet beach with plenty of local charm.

We walked down to the board walk nightly to enjoy ice cream at several establishments.

Our children swam the entire time we were there, while my partner and I watched from the tiki hut and hammock. They spent hours jumping from the dock. The back yard is perfect for spending long summer days out of doors.

The owners ensured that we had everything we needed to enjoy canoeing and kayaking, out door grilling, beautiful sunsets and sun rises and cooking large family meals in the well equipped kitchen.

Awesome vacation. Thank you George and Gina!

Great Vacation!!!!!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from our vacation and it was wonderful....The home was clean, had all the amenities needed to make our stay so comfortable....The location is wonderful,we rented a boat and tubed and kayaked during the day,we walked to the boardwalk and did smores at night right by the water..We have vacationed for years at the lake but this has been by far our best vacation, thank you George and Gina for that!!! We had one glitch, upon returning home my daughter realized she had left her wallet there, but I contacted Geoerge and he immediately called me back and had found her wallet and he also mailed it back to me by overnight mail, such a nice gesture since we are a 2 hour drive away....Thank you, thank you, thank you Geaorge for everything, we are already planning our return for next year!!!

Relaxing and great for kids.

  • 5 of 5

I was born and raised in the lakes region and know the area well. Weirs Beach is a great place for the kids. All kinds of activities on the Boardwalk to keep them entertained. But I had a hard time keeping them out of the water. They were like fish! My wife and I usually get back to Laconia Over Thanksgiving to see my family. It's always a treat to come back in the summertime. We had our 3 grand kids with us and they had a blast.

The cottage was plenty big enough with all the amenities you would need. George checked in on us periodically to see if we were good, great guy! The views are spectacular. I would recommend this place highly whether you have kids or just want kick back with friends. I hope to get back soon.

Beautiful views!!!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I just returned from our vacation at this location. When we arrived we loved it immediately!!! The location is beautiful!! The house was so clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was provided for us. Our kids loved being right on the water. We kayaked, fished, swam, and had nightly fires in the chimnea. The kids also loved walking into town for daily visits to the arcades and ice cream stores. We've never rented a house before for vacation and wasn't sure how we'd like it but this was truly an incredible vacation for our family. We would definitely do this again!! Thank you George and Gena!!!!

Just booked 4th year!

  • 5 of 5

This will be our fourth year at "the cottage" and we could not be happier. George and Gena do a fantastic job of welcoming you and the key drop off and pick up could not be easier, no long rides to a rental agency. The view from the master bedroom picture window is fantastic! The rest of the cottage is well laid out and in great shape. The fully stocked kitchen has everything you need to cook dinner for the whole family. There are several good restaurants and pubs within walking distance if you don't want to cook. The dock is great for our 22' boat and the K yacks, floats, and other accessories are a real hit with our kids. The neighborhood is quite and friendly. The location is good for day trips and close to many indoor activities in case it rains during your vacation. I highly recommend this property and we hope to come back for years to come!
