About Brett Jarvis
Pocono Dream Cabins is family owned and operated. After moving to the Poconos from NYC, we soon discovered how amazingly beautiful and serene the Poconos truly are--especially considering how close we are to NYC and Philadelphia. Our cabins are approximately 1.5 hours from NYC and 2 hours from Philadelphia. We have had guests from as far away as Holland, and as close as just across the border of New Jersey. Our cabins are fully stocked with all the amenities, including towels and linens.

Great place to get together with friends or family
Great little cabin for a weekend getaway . The pictures could use updating as there are different couches and such but nothing drastic. Kitchen had everything needed for cooking mostly. Be sure to bring extra kitchen trash bags paper towels and any cleaning supplies you feel you will need while there. Good hiking in the area be sure to check out Dingman’s Falls even especially for a peaceful and gorgeous winter hike (be prepared for ice). We were there during a significant snow so the dish wasnt working but there is Netflix capabilities through the DVD player. The driveway was also surprisingly plowed. WiFi signal is not strong enough to handle multiple people browsing social media on mobile devices or for handling more than just streaming Netflix. All in all the cabin was very clean and well equipped to handle what we needed it for. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to get out and explore this area.
A warm place to spend a cold winter weekend
We rung in the New Year at this great cabin. Everything was as advertised and very comfortable. I would recommend a stay here.
For those wondering how a winter stay here might be, let me say that it was snowing and 10 degrees F during our stay, but the driveway was plowed, the steps were salted and the wood burning stove was toasty. We drove a Honda Civic there and the route into the area wasn't too hilly or hard to navigate in the snow. Despite the cold, we enjoyed the hot tub and a hike to the nearby Dingman's Falls.
Two notes to help you pack: If sleeping in the game room during the winter, bring your warm PJ's. It was chilly down there. And the kitchen is well stocked with plates, cups, silverware, cookware, knives and serving utensils, but there are no spices, salt, pepper or oils; BYO.
Loved most things about this place! Beautiful, spacious, clean, lots of electronics, hot tub, view. The bedroom with 2 full size beds was my favorite - great views of all the trees. Hot tub was emptied and sterilized prior to my arrival. All necessary kitchen appliances and tools. Salt and shovel were provided.
Cons: Game room was COLD. Way cold. This was December and outside temps were freezing. The rest of the house was warm and cozy thanks to working heating system and/or the wood stove. But game room was simply too cold to even use or sleep in.
FYI linens do not include beach/hot tub towels, just some (about 8) regular sized towels. If you fill this place, you might not have enough for your whole party.
Great place to spend a weekend.
Thanks for your kind words. We urge guests to let us know if there are questions or issues during their stay, because usually the fixes are quite simple. In this case it is quite apparent that somebody closed the vent register to the game room, because under normal circumstances the game room is actually much warmer than the rest of the house due to the fact it is immediately adjacent to the 100,000 BTU furnace. Also, we leave no fewer than sixteen towels in the house, however some of them are kept in a linen closet as there is not space in the bathrooms. Again, a simple call or email can answer many questions, and we strive to be very quick to respond. Thanks!
Great place, plenty of room and great wood stove to stay warm
Great retreat in the woods!
I had a great weekend at the house with my family, it is a quiet wooded retreat, with all the essentials for comfort! Brett was responsive and kind. I would absolutely rent this house again! Thank you so much Brett!
House was clean and away from it all. We had a group of 11 and we all plan on going back next year. Brett was great !
There is a huge area of public land, lakes, ponds, wetlands, and forest surrounding the property. Nearby you'll find the Mountain Laurel Center with concerts and events, Pecks Pond, where you can see Bald Eagles, rent boats and fish, or eat at the historic Pecks Pond Inn. Lake Wallenpaupack, the third largest body of water in PA, is 20 minutes away. High Knob, one of the highest mountains in the Poconos, is just a few minutes away. Numerous ski areas, golf courses, paintball, boating, hiking, ATV and Snowmobile trails, waterfalls, and more are all in the nearby area. Milford, Stroudsburg, Matamoras, and Hawley are all about 20-30 minutes away. This property is located centrally in the Poconos so you are within a reasonable drive of almost all of the attractions. What is most unique about this property is that it is not in a gated community, unlike most Pocono vacation rentals, so you can enjoy real seclusion while still being close to civilization. As for skiing, the great thing about this location is that you are right in the middle of most of the Pocono ski areas. We get a lot of skiers who want to visit a different area every day. Tanglewood is only 12 miles away, about a 20 minute drive. You are also within 30 miles of Shawnee, Camelback, Mountain Creek, Big Bear, Alpine Mountain, Fernwood, and even Sno Mountain in Scranton is not out of reach.
