This private Charleston style home is a 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath apartment and is located off of St. Philip Street in the heart of beautiful and historic downtown Charleston.

Just a block away from upper King Street, the new epicenter of the city's renowned restaurant and nightlife district. Enjoy some of Charleston's best local dining with Hominy Grill, Fives Cafe, Two Boroughs Larder, The Ordinary, The Westendorff, and The Grocery all located within 3 blocks of the rental. This wonderful cultural city also offers galleries, museums, gorgeous churches, carriage tours, great shopping, and the beach is just minutes away.

This rental is three stories. The first floor is home to the kitchen, living area with a pull out queen sectional sofa, one bedroom, and 1.5 baths. There is no dining space. The second floor has two bedrooms, one with a king size bed, one with a queen size bed, and one bathroom. The third floor is only a bedroom that has a full size bed. The ceilings on the third floor are lower than the ceilings in the rest of the rental.

Provided are TWO free OFF-STREET parking spaces that are directly in front of the rental.

When renting a car we suggest reserving an economy size for parking.

Household items/appliances include microwave, coffee maker, coffee filters, fridge, toaster oven, hairdryer, iron and board, dishes, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, shampoo, conditioner, and soap.

2 night minimum stay.

Friday and Saturday nights must be reserved together.

Rates are based on time of year and events.

Check in is at 4 PM, Check out is at 11 AM.

Please consider these times when booking travel as we do not make an exceptions for early check in or late check out.

Pets are NOT allowed.

Great location and perfect for groups

We used this property for a girls weekend of 10 girls. We brought an air mattress because we were unsure about the pullout, but as the property review stated, it sleeps 10 (2 on pullout), but there was also space on the top floor for an air mattress. This house was in a perfect location in downtown Charleston. Walking distance to College of Charleston and lots of great restaurants and shops on King Street. The kitchen was not huge but stocked with all of the supplies we need. 2 parking spaces provided. The beds are also tempurpedic and incredibly comfortable. This is a great, cute, quaint rental. I would absolutely stay here again.

Not so great for groups

The property is well positioned near the center of Charleston. There are three main bedroom which meet expectations. The fourth bedroom is an open space and is located in the attic. It has a low ceiling which is not mentioned in the description of the property. The third bathroom is off this fourth bedroom and is designed for midgets.

The kitchen and living space is small. There are insufficient chairs or seating spaces for the number of residents the property claims to accommodate. There is no eating space in the property and no chairs in the kitchen area.

On arrival in Charleston the weather was cold and no blankets were provided on any of the beds. A request was made to the property manager to provide blankets. Property manager was slow in responding - it took 2 days for them to respond - so we ended up purchasing the required blankets. Also there’s a lack of coat hangers. We purchased our own. The downstairs of the property was cold even with the heating system working. It is to be expected that the property would be uncomfortable in summer as the air is not balanced throughout the property.

The house needs a good clean. There are cobwebs everywhere and the shelves in the cupboards are dusty. Trash from prior guests was found under the sofa.

We would recommend Charleston as a destination holiday location but would not recommend this location for a large party. The property is best suited for 6 people who intend to eat the majority of their meals at local restaurants. This property is not value for money.

Owner's Response: Nigel, Thank you very much for your review of your recent stay at our vacation rental. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, as we strive to improve with each and every stay. I greatly appreciate your comments about areas of the rental that need updating. Part of the charm of Charleston is the old architecture and design. Many of the houses are constructed similar to this one with an attic space that has been converted over time to an additional bedroom. The third full bath located on the third floor is small but usable. Anyone can use this shower. There is a seat in the shower as well. You are correct, there is no formal dining room in the house. Many of our guests choose to explore Charleston's renowned cuisine. If guests choose to cook, the kitchen does include a full size fridge, microwave, range, and dishwasher. We have added barstools in the kitchen area if guests decide to dine at the house. Each bed, including the pull out sofa are equipped with sheets and a comforter. A request was made for additional blankets and that request was answered within one day. I offered to bring over more blankets, and was told they were no longer needed. Extra blankets did not need to be purchased, they were readily available. I apologize for the apparent confusion on this issue. Thank you for pointing out the number of coat hangers, we have added additional coat hangers to each closet in the house. The central heat and air system is properly maintained and the thermostat is located on the second floor allowing for the heating and cooling to be properly balanced throughout the house. I sincerely apologize that you were not pleased with the level of cleanliness. We have a full time cleaner and we strive to provide a level of exceptional cleanliness at all times. This issue has since been addressed. Our main priority is to be able to offer a very well-maintained and comfortable atmosphere for our guests. There are horse and carriage rides, multiple walking tours and historic house tours located just several blocks away. Many local boutiques and restaurants are easily available and walkable to enjoy during your days. Local farmers markets and festivals occur regularly here in our city at Marion Square conveniently located just 4 blocks away.
