After visiting Isle of Palms many times, we fell in love with the Island and it's great beaches, along with the close proximity to great shopping and restaurants in Charleston SC. In May 2011, we purchased this home after looking at nearly every home for sale on IOP. We love the location - the quieter end of the Island and the ability to walk to the Boathouse or Windjammer and ride bikes over to Sullivan's Island. The beaches in front of the house are some of the widest on the Island. We will continue to maintain and update the house every year to make it a great family-friendly vacation home that people will want to come back to year after year.

We just got back but I couldn't wait to write this review! We travel every summer for a "Bank of Dad" vacation with our three grown children, their spouses our granddaughter, my brother in law and a friend. This has to be our favorite house so far!
There was room for all of us to have our own space. It was beautifully decorated, comfortable, very clean with a well stocked kitchen and a perfect location and even has beach chairs to use. Having the pool made it perfect for those who wanted a change from the stunning beach, which was a five minute walk away. My two year old granddaughter asked twice today when we were going to the beach.
What sold me on this house was the big table and chairs on the screen porch. We had breakfasts, lunches, cocktails and dinners out there with the overhead fans to keep us cool.
The owner, Christy, was so helpful to us. She recommended restaurants, things to do and places to rent anything we didn't bring with us. I was lucky to get a reservation at Husk and we had lunch at the Hominy Grill and a waffle chicken sandwich at the Farmers Market in Charleston.
It is hard to find the perfect house for our many needs but this was it. I would highly recommend this house for your vacation!
WE LOVED IT!
My family rented the house as a 60th Birthday celebration for our Mom. We had 8 adults, 4 kids and a 6 month old baby. There was plenty of space for our entire group without ever feeling on top of one another. The kids absolutely loved their upstairs loft retreat! Although there was space to eat inside, we ate just about every meal on the screened in porch. We mainly gathered for breakfast and lunch, but did also stay in and cook dinner a few of the nights. It was easily one of our favorite gathering spots at the house.
The pool area was also very comfortable with both sun and shade options. The short walk to the beach was perfect! We could load up our gear and be there in just a few minutes.
Christy (the owner) was especially helpful and provided us with some of their favorite things to do and restaurant spots (both on the island, nearby and in Charleston). We were able to make some reservations ahead of time to accommodate our large group and honestly I don't think we ate a bad meal all week. In addition, we were provided with resources to rent a crib and high chair during our visit for the baby in our group. We had a wonderful stay and hope to get to come back again in the future.
The house was in even better shape than last year when we came down. The new mattresses in the downstairs bedroom were an added bonus. All 13 of us had very comfortable sleeping arrangements with the use of the loft. It was a cold weekend though we stayed by the pool for a while on Thursday afternoon after our arrival. The close proximity to shopping in Charleston and Isle of Palms, seafood on the island and at Sheem Creek, bike riding, walking on the beach, we stayed busy though some just hung back and relaxed on the porch. Pictures don't do this place justice...walking in and taking in the views is an immediate relaxing experience...let the vacation (however short or long) begin! This was our second trip and hopefully we will be able to return!
This house was such an awesome experience. We had 10 adults and 4 children in our group and it was plenty of space. It was clean, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. The screened in porch was wonderful....we used it constantly to eat meals, play games, and do jigsaw puzzles. The pool was great and the location is in such close proximity to the beach that it was easy to pop over to the beach for part of each day. The outdoor kitchen/living space was perfect. We used it daily including having a low country boil on the downstairs counter top. We loved the fire pit and used it for s'mores and late night fires to chat by. We rented a golf cart so we could buzz around the island with ease. We enjoyed The Boathouse, Morgan Creek, Sea Biscuit and Acme Low Country Kitchen. The golfing was great fun. Charleston was just a hop, skip and a jump away which was wonderful as many of us went in to enjoy the horse-drawn carriage rides, amazing restaurants, and a nighttime walking ghost tour. Also, the loft bedroom with the five single beds and sitting room was heaven for the children. They felt like they had their own special space....which in turn gave the adults some special space as well! We would absolutely come back and stay at this house again and again. It lends itself to a relaxing and very memorable family vacation.
We had such an amazing experience at this property, it was sad for us to pack up and leave! The house was absolutely stunning upon arrival and we were extremely impressed by all the gorgeous decor and modern furniture. We stayed with a group of 8 girls which was perfect for us since we could lay out by the pool and walk across the street to the beach, yet also drive 20 minutes into Charleston for shopping and drinks. Unfortunately it rained for the majority of our stay, but we still made the most of our trip and had dinners out on the gorgeous back patio that had a table large enough to fit everyone and we were even walking distance to The Boathouse which was beautiful at sunset! The beds were all extremely comfortable and I was impressed that the kitchen was fully stocked with everything which made us feel right at home. I would definitely love to stay at this property again!
This beach house was exactly what we needed. It was comfortable in every way. We noticed upon our arrival that it was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated with a beach theme, all of the beds were very comfortable, and the views were breathtaking especially from the deck off the master bedroom. There was also plenty of room for us. Our families were staying in Charleston, but some of them ventured to the beach house for a little conversation and refreshments poolside. We made our dinners in the outdoor kitchen which was just delightful. Early morning walks on the beach, bike rides along Ocean Drive, reading books by the pool, are just a few of the many ways we were able to enjoy 304 Charleston Avenue. It far exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect vacation, and we can hardly wait to return to this little piece of heaven on earth. Thank you for making this possible.
This is the best section of the Beach on Isle of Palms. Wide beaches with easy access to everything. Avoid the crowds of Palm Blvd by staying on Ocean Blvd side. Find sand dollars in the waters just in front of the house and go crabbing for blue crabs at Breach Inlet, just a few hundred yards from the house.
