About the property

5 bedroom, 2 bathroom recently renovated & newly furnished home in town

Come relax in one of the most gorgeous, quaint seaside towns in America. Historic Greenport, New York is a sleepy fishing town with all the perks of being near the city with none of the hustle and bustle. Located near the end of the North Fork, Greenport is convenient to all the vineyards, farms, and nearby towns as well as home to the Shelter Island Ferry and 8 miles from the Orient Point Ferry to Connecticut. Take the Hampton Jitney or Long Island Rail Road from the city to the heart of town and walk 2 short blocks to our house. No car required!

Our home is a renovated 1873 Victorian beauty. We have brand new furniture in all 5 bedrooms as well as 2 full bathrooms. Our recent renovation includes adding brand new air conditioning, new kitchen appliances and plumbing, a full dining room and eat-in-kitchen, a new backyard grill, wi-fi, and plasma TV. We have all the kitchen appliances, serving ware, linens, and beach towels you need to come and go during your stay. Our home includes a brand new washer and dryer as well as a new dishwasher. Driveway and street parking are available if you bring a car, but everything is within a short, tree-lined walk to downtown.

Our home can sleep up to 12 adults in the 5 bedrooms. We have two King bedrooms, one Queen bedroom, a room with 2 twin beds, and a room with 2 sets of bunk beds. Each bedroom boasts BRAND NEW Sealy Posturpedic mattesses, down comforters, and dressers. There are closets in every bedroom and plenty of storage to go around. We absolutely welcome your children, but please leave your furry friends at home.

Relax on the front deck or in the back yard with our brand new grill or talk a short two-block walk to town and explore downtown Greenport. The local cuisine has changed a lot over the past few years and offers both daytime coffee and breakfast spots as well as nighttime bars and seaside dining. Take advantage of the incredibly fresh seafood at the local spots and drink wine from the nearby vineyards. Bring the kids to see the tall ships or take a ride on the carousel that overlooks Peconic Bay. Don’t forget to stop at the ice cream shop on the way home!

Rent a car or book a limo to explore the dozens of award-winning vineyards for the day. Make time to stop at the local fresh fruit and vegetable stands for a homestyle barbeque later that night. Briermere Farms is our favorite place to snag a pie for dessert. Other nearby towns have great restaurants to try--and we have a visitors guide full of them for you to check out upon arrival! Got questions? We’re locals! Ask us for recommendations before you visit.

Kick back and relax in the most picturesque town on the North Fork. Bring your family and friends, or stay here for your wedding or family reunion. This town has something for everyone and our home is the perfect place to stay while you enjoy your trip.

About Justin Bales

Justin and Abby Bales have a long history with Greenport. Married in St. Agnes Church on Front St. in downtown Greenport in 2009, Justin and Abby have finally made their dream of owning a home in this beautiful town a reality. Justin grew up in nearby Mattituck and has been showing Abby and their 1 year-old son the beauty of the North Fork ever since. With close ties to locals who own businesses all over the North Fork, Justin and Abby are the perfects hosts to out-of-town guests.

Justin Bales purchased this house in 2015

Why Justin Bales chose North Fork

This house is a dream house for the Bales Family who have poured their hearts into this summer's renovation. With the goal of restoring the house to its original beauty, the Justin and Abby have thoughtfully brought the plumbing, electric, and appliances all up-to-date while maintaining the Victorian-era details of the original architecture.

The house has been a private home and a boarding house for sailors. It survived floods, hurricanes, and the ever-changing times the East End of Long Island has endured. With little details, hidden corners, and back staircases, the house has a place for everyone to relax. It's truly one of the most remarkable homes in Greenport.

What makes this house unique

The location absolutely cannot be beat and the house itself is incredibly gorgeous. If that doesn't convince you, here's a list of what's brand new in the house (basically, everything).

-Furniture

-Mattresses

-Air Conditioning

Beautiful home!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this property for Memorial Day Weekend. The owner was extremely helpful with recommendations for dining and activities in Greenport. The house was very clean and charming - plenty of space (we had 11 people). Definitely interested in making a trip back!

Justin was great. House was perfect for the twelve of us that were there, super comfy and neat. Perfect location, walking distance to town. I had a couple of questions for Justin and he responded super quickly. Would definitely recommend!

Gorgeous, Huge 5 Bedroom, Victorian Home!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying in this beautiful, sunny, well-appointed home! Plenty of cookware and dishes in the huge eat-in kitchen with a large table to gather around in addition to the huge dining room. Double living room provided plenty of space for our extended family to hang out and chat, play games, listen to music. Apple TV with wifi worked great. Just a block to the IGA Grocery Store and two blocks to shops, restaurants and wine bars. Take the ferry to Shelter Island or Sag Harbor. We rented Jet Skis 15 minutes away, and rented Paddle Boards in East Hampton. It was a fabulous week!

Beautiful Victorian, great location

  • 5 of 5

The house was beautiful with plenty of room for 10 of us. It was very clean and had nice upgrades, appliances, cookware, etc. Owner was easily accessible for questions and suggestions. The house location was great since it was 2 blocks from town and everything was within walking distance.

The only cons were that the backyard wasn't ideal for entertaining- very small space that needed some updates. It did have a nice grill though. Also, some chairs for the front porch would have been nice. There is a lovely porch in the front but there were no chairs available to use in that space.

Would recommend this property to others.

Perfect Summer Home

  • 5 of 5

We cannot say enough about this gorgeous house! Everything was absolutely perfect for our stay- from the central location to the beautiful house itself. The house is located just minutes walking distance from the water, restaurants, brewery and grocery. Bedrooms, bath, kitchen, living room and backyard are perfectly set up for a family or group to have a comfortable and fun stay. Justin was amazing to work with- and available whenever I needed to ask him a question about anything. Highly recommend this rental!
