Cowells Surfside is a clean, one- bedroom apartment located two houses from West Cliff, behind a main house and above the detached garage. Surrounded by plants and a garden it has gorgeous views of the Monterey Bay, Boardwalk, Santa Cruz Wharf and Santa Cruz Mountains. The apartment is fairly new and has bamboo floors, granite counters and large sunny windows. It is perfect for a couple or small family. The apartment gives you walking access to many beaches, great surf spots, the Boardwalk and SC Wharf, wine tasting and shopping. Athletes have been renting here for years to have easy access to triathlons, surf contests and bike races. Families love it for the proximity to the Boardwalk and downtown. Travelers return every summer and fall to enjoy the fun and beauty of our town.

The stay was great. Wish the weather was better. Your cottage is very comfortable and the bed was very soft and cozy. We were in a surf contest, the 25th annual Longboard Invitation. My husband didnt place but we won a surfboard! Yeah!

This property has everything we were looking for in a beach getaway. It is half a block from the beach, it is far enough away from the boardwalk so you don't get the noise, but close enough to walk to the crowd, there is a view of the ocean from the deck, bedroom and living room, the apartment is very quiet, the property is well kept and well appointed and the owners were very responsive. Since the location is so perfect for the many surfers, you do have to vie for parking spaces on the street, but that didn't present an issue. We will defintiely be back!
Perfect location, close to the ocean where you can see the Santa Cruz Wharf and hear the sea lions. The apartment is a quiet above garage unit with comfortable decor perfect for a couples getaway. Easy access to the beautiful ocean walkway across the street and views of the local surfers. A quick walk gets you to the wharf and all the restaurants and Boardwalk.

My husband and I enjoyed the cozy apartment. It had everything we needed and was right next to the beach. We were able to walk to a lot of places. Our only complaint is the parking. You can't park in the driveway, you have to park on the street. It is often difficult to find a parking spot on the street. Other than that - no problems.
This property is just perfect as a getaway for two. I am sure it could extend for a kid or two, but for my husband and I it was wonderful. The apartment is beautiful, with simple, clean lines and bright warm colors. The kitchen is able to work fine for a full-time tenant, or amply for a weekend stay like ours. Easy walk to beach, restaurants, town ,or the beautiful cliff side path.
My teenage son & I stayed here for just under a week... it was a perfect getaway! Walking distance to most everything we wanted to do & just a short drive to super markets, etc. It's so wonderful to have a full kitchen so that you're not eating out every meal while on vacation. Everything was functional & well kept. Apartment is light and airy; clean and spacious. We will absolutely be staying here again. :) Oh, and the owners are lovely... checked in on us, making sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable.
