Our family just returned from spending a week at "The Boathouse" with 4 generations ranging from almost 2 years old to 82. The location was perfect with just a short walk to the pool and beach. It is right on the water and the view from the deck is wonderful. Two in our party love to fish so they used the available canoe and had a great time. The gas fire pit by the lake was a great place to sit and relax. The decks were well maintained and the gas grill was clean. The games in the game room were a plus on the rare occasion that it rained. There are two bedrooms on the main living area. One has a queen bed plus two twins. The other has a queen a one twin. There are two bedrooms downstairs where the game room is. Both have a queen bed. The couches have pull out beds but we took a queen sized air mattress that we put in the game room. All 13 family members were very comfortable. John, the owner, is very easy to work with. I highly recommend this property!
Had a group of 15 stay here for a weekend and everyone had a great time, I would definitely stay here again.
My group of 13 had a wonderful stay at "the Boathouse!" The location on the lake is beautiful, the fireplace kept us toasty warm and the kids LOVED the game room. There were so many machines, no one had to share! Plenty of beds for everyone too. The Hideout is a great community with a ski hill that is very reasonably-priced and beginner-friendly, but it is also close enough to some larger mountains. We dealt with owner, John, who was prompt, friendly and accommodating. We definitely plan to be back!
The outdoor space was great! We all fished, floated on the lake, we also brought 6 kayaks, and made good use of them! The paddle boat was great! Along with the fire table was a great ending to a day!
Videos were also a plus for the young and old alike!
House was clean, and was close to everything!
My only complaints were the bed we had was very uncomfortable, also could use more kitchen equipment.
( I guess a lot of people don't cook on vacation, but we do!)
All in all a great location on the lake!
Would defiantly rent again!
Our family stayed at the Boathouse for a week in July with eight kids ranging in ages from 10 to 22 and a great time was had by all. The game room is amazing and the location on the lake is fantastic. John was great to deal with. We will definitely be back again.
A group of 16 of us stayed in this house over July 4th Weekend (4 nights). The location right on the lake was phenomenal. The house unlike many others on the lake has a nice lawn area where we were able to hang out and play lawn games. The fire pit was also a nice touch. John (the owner) was very hospitable and we were offered use of his paddeboat, canoe, and rowboat. There is also a small dock from which you can fish from or hang out and enjoy a nice beverage.
The house itself has enough room/beds to accommodate a large group. I will say the pull out couches (if needed) are a little "springy" and could use some extra padding. The game room was used throughout our stay as well.
The kitchen was spacious, the grill worked seamlessly, and overall we had an excellent stay in the Poconos. We would absolutely return.
