I started doing vacation rentals to keep our lake home on Hayden Lake in the family. I have loved the interaction with my guests and added a second home, Riverview in the Pines to our vacation properties several years ago. I retired this year, and my first project was to finish the apartment I had dreamed of. It is on our property of 3 acres with great access to a wonderful part of Coeur d Alene - Cougar Gulch.
It is my greatest hope that your time in 'the nook' will be special and become a great memory.
The Owner purchased this apartment in 2011
I have lived in Coeur d Alene most of my life. It is a unique area and I love sharing my town and my homes with people coming for vacation.
Wander our meadow, relax by the fire pit, explore our garden. Watch wildlife enjoying the creek and pond.
We are close to the lake, Cougar Nature Preserve and all the events in downtown Coeur d'Alene, Come home to peace and quiet in a rural setting after your activities for the day.
Since I am a long time resident - I am happy to share with you the things that make Coeur d'Alene special. I can recommend restaurants, beaches and activities that will meet your own personal requirements for a great vacation.
Close enough to Silverwood for us, and the place was clean and peaceful.
We stayed three nights and really enjoyed the privacy and homey feel of the "Nook." It was like our own little hideaway in the woods. Even our 21 year old son loved it. The only reason for 4 stars was the lack of a creek. I had really hoped for that. It was a little more like an overgrown ditch that was dry. Beautiful place though.
If you're looking for a secluded and comfortable stay, The Nook is it! My husband and I wanted to visit Coeur d'Alene but didn't want the big resort experience or price. The Nook fit exactly what we were looking for; a quiet spot, off the beaten path, but close enough to visit town, cozy enough for two, with the option to go to town for a meal or fix something and stay in. The property is very clean with a comfortable bed and cozy futon to watch a movie on. Diana had clear instructions and recommendations for visiting town. All of our necessities were met and then some; exactly what we needed!
My husband and I had a wonderful weekend here! Cute, cozy and clean! It was just perfect for us, and far enough away from town to feel like you were vacationing, but close enough to town in case of emergency. There were toiletries, linens and satellite available for us. A movie and book selection, as well as a fire pit for our use. The barbecue was not working (which the owner informed us about, and offered a replacement) but we were able to cook inside with the dishes provided. My only suggestion is possibly a larger skillet and larger pot available. The ones provided were perfect for 2 people, but if you have more than 2 guests it might be hard to cook for 4-6 people. Diana did say she could provide anything we needed, though, and I'm sure she would have if I needed it.
I received my deposit back promptly and my husband and I plan on returning.
Thank you, Diana for everything!
Perfect accommodations and perfect location. Close enough to the city to easily access activities. Far enough away from the city to feel peaceful seclusion. The owners were helpful and made sure the roads were safe and plowed. The Nook came equipped with nearly everything you could need. The bed was a little uncomfortable, but other than that not a single complaint.
This property is everything a nook should be - cozy, clean, minimal-yet-enough, and even more. Though we unfortunately only had one night there, we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
The place is tucked far back on a rural road (perfect for a sunny morning walk!), yet conveniently close to CDA via 95.
The kitchen is fully equipped, the bedroom is bright and clean, and the patio is nice to enjoy breakfast on.
Diana was very prompt in her communication with us, and we were overall more than satisfied with our stay there.
P.S. Go to Satay Bistro for dinner! And don't let the strange location fool you - it was one of the best eating experiences we've every had!
Silverwood Theme Park, Cougar Nature Preserve - 5 miles from Downtown Coeur d Alene - which is a destination shopping spot and great access to lake beaches and the CoeurdAlene city beach and park. Tubbs Hill is also a much loved hiking spot.
