About Tom Lash

Our family has been active in sports and travel over the last thirty years with many successful trips down white water rivers along with many day and weekend trips bicycling on these rail-to-trail locations. We have an active insurance business and help people have fun while staying safe and financially secure. We love the outdoors but also know getting children involved in out door activity is difficult in today's technology enhanced world. Our Bike House offers a way to mix the two worlds and give your children a lifetime experience in alternative living and maybe future planning.

Tom Lash purchased this house in 2011

Why Tom Lash chose Georgia

This home was purchased after a 20 year love affair with the Silver Comet Trail and Bicycling in general. We found that traveling back and forth from our home to a location conducive to bike riding was exhausting, costly, polluting, and time consuming. We decided we would look for an affordable home that needed little work or attention. We found this great little place with a nice little dirt trail leading right from our door to our favorite recreational area.

What makes this house unique

We are always finding more and more cool things about our little hide-away in the woods just north of Atlanta. We can ride bicycles in either direction and never get tired of the scenery or the people that we meet. When you're self contained and non-confrontational you have a much greater chance of learning about your environment, your neighbors and others that enjoy your same passions and pursuits. If you ride bikes, run, walk, hike, roller blade, swim, enjoy history, like talking to trees or clouds, want to connect with yourself your family and relative or a stranger this place will keep your attention and will create a living memory that you can enjoy every year.

Nice, clean house in quiet neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed here for 3 weeks. It was a nice, comfortable house that was large enough to provide us all our own space to relax. When we first arrived, the television didn't offer a variety of channels, but once we spoke with the owner, he upgraded his service right away. Quiet neighborhood. The only bad thing was the bbq was broken, we could have bought charcoal to use but that takes too long.

I think this house was a great deal for the price and would recommend it to others.

Clean and Well Maintained

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in Tom's home definitely lived up to our expectations. We found the home clean and well stocked with towels and toilet paper, as well as a variety of kitchen-ware. The home is spacious and we didn't feel crowded even with two families under the roof. The furniture and beds were comfortable and the large tub in the master was a nice treat! Our kids were well entertained with the variety of video-games and Roku TV, and there was plenty of room for them to run around the fenced yard. The biking trail was beautiful, and the neighbors friendly. Easy check in and out, and Tom was a phone-call away whenever we had a question. We couldn't have asked for much more. If you're visiting the area with a group, then definitely consider a stay in this home.

Revival Week

  • 4 of 5

The house worked out very good for us. My family and I attended a week long revival at my home church, Mt. Moriah Baptist in Dallas, and we had both day and night services. I live south of Atlanta and staying at the house saved us a lot of travel time and allowed us to attend every service. It was a good week and we were all revived both physically and spiritually. Will definitely stay here again and have recommended this house to several friends that will be coming to the area.

Cyclists Dream!

  • 5 of 5

This home is located very near the Silver Comet Trail with numerous mountain bike trails in the area. House was clean and welcoming and located in a working class neighborhood. The property was very pet friendly with a fenced-in back yard. If you are a road or trail cyclist, this rental property is for you! We took advantage of all the area had to offer and look forward to returning soon. The property owner was friendly and attentive to our inquiries. The house easily accommodates large families.

Great Property!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time. The owner was a phone call away for any concern or questions, which was very convenient. The house was clean, and big enough for all of us. The only thing that could of been an issue was the cable. There wasn't any, which is the contrairy from what it says in the listing. Anyway we had xfinity from comcast; therefore we were able to access some of the channels via their internet overthere. Over all our stay was a great success. Thank u Tom (Owner).

Fits basic needs

  • 4 of 5

I loved that the master bedroom is on the main floor because my mother, who is 88 years old, was with us. The area is very quiet, as mentioned in the description. Having a well insulated house was a major plus since the temperatures were in the 20's and 30's. My only complaints were: #1) there was no fire pit in the fenced backyard, as listed. So you can image our disappointment not to be able to sit outside next to one and enjoy the night skies, as was suggested in the description. My #2) concern is the that there was no murphy bed; but a sofa sleeper, which is ok but the mattress desperately NEEDS to be replaced. And #3) the Huge Major (Wal-Mart) grocery store is too far to walk so consider that especially when bringing back bags of items. Overall, the place was well suited for our needs, and I would recommend it to others.
