We stayed at Alexis' apartment in Paris just a week ago and had a great time. The apartment itself is spacious, with a full kitchen and bathroom (the bathroom has a deep soaking tub; what a luxury after walking all day in Paris!). Beautifully decorated too. And the location was perfect for us; Le Marais, close to shops, cafes and sightseeing, such as the Louvre and Notre Dame. The Bastille Metro is just a short walk down the street so we could go anywhere easily. The next time we visit lovely Paris we will stay there again.
If possible this stay was better than the first, which was also unsurpassed. Alexis and her team were amazing, From our first communication through check-in, everything went perfectly smoothly, and the apartment, which now feels like my home away from home, was equipped with absolutely everything one not need, spacious and adorable, easy to navigate and fantastically located ,
Steps away from countless boulangeries, fromageries, cafes, bistros, the market, two metro stops and of course the Marais and St. Paul, I couldn't ask for anything more.
Thank you again Alexis!
The apartment and the neighborhood were lovely, very central to all we wanted to do, and transportation was easy to access.
The apartment was well appointed, with every amenity considered. Close to Victor Hugo's house and Place des Vosges.
Also appreciated the detailed list of good restaurants and vendors in the area. The owner is well-liked and we were treated by all as though we were old friends. Nice!
The master bedroom was very comfortable, as was the sofa-bed that my teenagers used.
Really - they wanted the name of the sofa-bed manufacturer to replace our sofa-bed at home!
And the bathroom was large - unlike any I've seen in EU. So nice to take a proper bath at the end of a long day of sightseeing.
It was a lovely home base for our Paris adventures. Thank you!
Honestly, I could not think of a more perfect place to stay in Paris. I have been to the magical city many times and love exploring its many neighborhoods – and this is the ideal location from which to do so. It is within walking distance of many major sites/attractions, countless top notch restaurants, metro stops, and too many shops to count (yet all worth visiting!). The apartment itself is in a great, safe building and is perfectly appointed with any and everything that you may need or want during your stay: stellar kitchen, culinary tools, TV, high speed wifi, comfy bed, great sitting area, dining table, full length mirrors, closets, spacious bath, and more, all of which are clearly laid out and explained for ease of use. It looks out upon a quiet, sweet garden courtyard. Just book it, trust me. I'll be back very soon!
This apartment is perfect for a stay in Paris for 2-4 people. My wife and I have rented many other apartments in Paris so we have a good basis for comparison. We have now stayed in this apartment several times and we always go back. We feel as if it's our second home in Paris. It is located in the heart of the Marais, which is close to a number of attractions, such as the Musee Picasso, Beauborg, the Latin Quarter and the Louvre. There is easy to access all of Paris because it is within a few blocks to two Metro stations: St. Paul and Bastille. The apartment is very roomy for a one bedroom with a large and well-appointed living area, as well as a huge bathroom (for a Paris apartment) with a truly nice shower and a very large bathtub (almost unheard of in this area). There is an elevator (which is crucial if you have any heavy luggage) and a good staircase. Everything Alexis represents about the apartment on her Web site is absolutely true regarding the location, layout and amenities. Alexis keeps the apartment in perfect condition and it has everything you would need during your stay. There is an excellent kitchen that has every appliance, utensil or piece of cookware you might need, including a dishwasher, a washer-dryer, a coffee-maker, a speedy water boiling tea maker, and a great U.S.-style set up where the kitchen is opened-up to the dining area. Alexis has left a very informative and easy to follow binder about how to use the various appliances, how to make (free!) calls to the U.S. and where to eat in the neighborhood. The apartment itself is extremely quiet, almost no matter what time of the day or night. Alexis and her assistants seem to be always available to help and are always courteous and polite. I give this apartment my highest recommendation to my friends, relative or strangers. I can't imagine wanting for anything else in a rental property in Paris.
First rate in every way.
The apt is very intelligently done, with excellent appliances and conveniences, and some exceptionally lovely antique furniture combined with contemporary comfort. And perfectly quiet.
At least two excellent boulangerie nearby, and equally excellent produce. The Marais is no longer the picturesque place it was 50 years ago -- but as a result, if you don't mind the crowds, the boutiques are exceptional. Even the bookstore downstairs is exceptional -- a treasure in the era of disappearing bookstores.
The owner has provided wonderfully accurate instructions on how to operate everything -- espresso machine, laundry machine, etc. There is even a little portable speaker I could have plugged my iPod into if I hadn't brought my own. That thoughtfulness extends to suggestions for dining. My wife and I know Paris well, but we followed two of the suggestions and discovered two places we'll go back to time and again, and recommend to our friends.
This is, I think, the sixth or seventh Paris apartment we've stayed in over many years. We're already thinking of returning in the Spring.
Location, location, location! This spacious 1 bedroom apartment is in the center of one of Paris' most desired neighborhoods - a short walk to either the Bastille or St Paul metro stops, as well as the beauty of Place Des Vosges the Seine and Ile St Louis! And from this comfortable central apartment, you can experience the best Paris has to offer with ease and safety - all the while living in a neighborhood still full with 'real' Parisiens! Historic and beautiful Place Des Vosges is only 1 1/2 blocks away. And devoted foodies will love the apartment's full kitchen and dining room, equipped to enjoy the best of the fresh food and produce all around - within a few blocks in any direction, you will find 4 bakeries, 2 cheese shops, an organic market, 1 supermarket, 2 fruit and vegetable stands, 3 convenience stores, a fresh fish market, and a twice-weekly farmers market ! Of course, also restaurants, cafes, clothing stores, museums and more!!
Other Activities: Bastille Farmers Market twice a week, the river Seine and Ile St Louis a 5 minute walk. Restaurants and shops galore. Super safe area.
