Listen and all you can hear is the wind moving through those incredible smelling pine trees. Sled down the hills in the winter. Do like many of our guests... hike down the pine needle covered trails with your lover in the summer, take romantic moonlit snowshoe walks with them in the winter, and as time passes share those same trails with your kids in this beautiful cabin, everything is right about this little piece of heaven we have to offer you.
Open the eight foot tall arched front door and take in the breathtaking downstairs great room with high vaulted ceilings and huge picture windows framing in an incredible view. Snuggle up in the luxurious down filled leather sectional while watching the flames dance in the soft warmth of the soapstone stove.
The gourmet kitchen has a huge granite island with built in cook top and second sink that will delight even the most discriminating chef. A large side-by-side refrigerator, built in oven, microwave, and dishwasher rounded out by the granite counter tops and oak cabinets making this kitchen beautiful and very functional for cooking for a large group.

About Vickie Wilson
We both grew up in Orange County, Southern California, and moved to San Bernardino in 1981. Desiring our sons to grow up with some space around them, we purchased the ranch near Big Bear Lake in 1991 when our boys were 6, 4, 2 and 2 months old. We lived in the 500 sf cottage that is now called Ironwood Lodge - the only building on the ranch. The six of us lived in the cottage (yes, we were a bit crazy!!) while we built what is now the main house - called Granite Vista. It took us 3 years before it was completed enough for us to move in. We did the majority of building ourselves, with help from family and friends. After moving in to the 'big' house, Ironwood sat empty for a few years. With the encouragement of some friends who owned a lodge in town, we remodeled it and began renting it out. Our guests liked it so much that we built three more - Mountain Sunset, Hunter's Lodge and Wild Rose - ready for New Year's 2000. A few years later we acquired the Kopitch Cottage (built by the Kopitch family) that sat on 10 acres bordering our original 40 acres…. then a few years later we built Juniper Ridge - 2000 sf, 3 bedroom 2 bath family cabin. We recently remodeled our home to have available for large groups. Now that the boys are grown, we love to travel and spend several months every year exploring other countries on our motorcycle - BMW 1200 GS. We recently spent 5 months in Central America and 2 months in Thailand. Though we love traveling, there is no place like home!
Vickie Wilson purchased this Cabin in 1991
Why Vickie Wilson chose Angelus Oaks
Our ranch is only 2 hours from Los Angeles, but in an area where there are no utilities. This fact allowed us to purchase acreage at a reasonable cost. With advances in technology, solar power has become more affordable. Every cottage and home on our ranch is run on solar power! Far from utility lines, yet only 15 minutes from grocery stores, restaurants, skiing and the lake, we feel like our ranch is in an ideal location.
What makes this Cabin unique
Our ranch is forested with tall pines, huge junipers, fir and lodge pole pines. To hike through the forest on the trails on and around our ranch is one of our favorite past times. The Pacific Crest Trail crosses our ranch. At an elevation of 8200, the sky is blue and the stars are amazing. The peace and quiet is so restful.

Back to the Future!!
Everything said in these reviews is absolutely correct, Juniper Ridge is a piece of heaven, but it’s difficult to accurately put into words the magic of the place. To be staying “off the grid” in such luxurious surroundings is a very unique opportunity and should not be missed. I am a hospitality manager from the Tahoe area and we had to go back (we used to live in Big Bear) for a ski race for my son (14yrs old). We found it more difficult to leave every day, and honestly I don’t think they make vacations long enough to satisfy our joy with the place… we’ll just have to keep going back...I want to experience every season. Special kudos to Scott and Vickie for their thoughtful approach to hospitality, appreciation for the past and the great things it had to offer (quiet and stars to name a few), view toward the future and sustainable living, decorating abilities and those incredible beds (I can’t remember the last time I slept so well!).
Winter stay at the incredible 55 acre solar powered ranch house!
Thanks Aimee, me and my friends had a blast the 2 night we rented. The staying was very relaxing, cozy and entertaining. We all enjoyed every moment and love the great housitality with the welcome card and home bake goods. We all had such a great time we're looking forward to the next trip back in the winter. Thanks aimee for the memory we all enjoyed and wont forget :)
Modern convenience and luxury meets simpler times!
A beautiful secluded cabin in the woods, luxurious without being overstated, warm and generous hosts -- a perfect opportunity to get away from it all. We spent a winter weekend here and EVERYONE was happy. The twelve and fourteeners spent hours building a fast moving sledding run complete with jumps. Ziplining too!!!! Grandpa loved the hiking, exploring, early morning bird watching, board games and shooting pool with the grandkids. The kitchen was open and airy, everyone wanted to cook!
And our German Shephard has never been happier. Free to roam and welcomed with dog biscuits as we humans were treated to freshly baked cinnamon rolls upon arrival. No TV, no Internet, no cell service, and NOT A SINGLE COMPLAINT from anyone. Plenty to do, looking forward to returning soon. Back home tonight in San Diego and the kids asking "What happened to all of the stars?";)
A beautiful setting to reconnect in. Looking forward to a return trip!
So glad that you enjoyed your stay - we look forward to you visiting us again!
Best Mountain retreat
We absolutely loved this property and home. It was much nicer then we expected. The kitchen we well stocked with all the items we needed to cook with. This home even has a BBQ, perfect to grill hamburgers, steaks, etc. The decor was very nice and cozy. There is a large patio on the side of the home with a beautiful view of the snowy mountains. It was so nice to sit in the sun (with jackets) and enjoy the mountain air. Another fun treat was the pool table and couches in the garage. We liked being able to go in and enjoy a few games of pool while the kids enjoyed a movie in the living room. The large showers are a very nice touch as well. They have shampoo, conditioner and soap right in the shower for you and plenty of towels. The last things I want to mention is the heated floors, the wood burning fireplace and plenty of wood to keep us warm. Can't wait to return. Thanks Scott and Vickie
Thank you, Cris! So glad you enjoyed your stay!
