This is a truly restful place, where you can hear the calming sounds of church bell chimes and have easy access to a variety of exciting local attractions, including museums and golfing!
Boasting 2,000 square feet of well appointed living space, this stately residence is perfect for large families or group of close friends looking to explore Connecticut’s rich history.
The front of the house looks out onto Chelsea Parade, which was designated in the late 1800’s as a military parade ground, showcasing several small monuments devoted to those who have served this country.
Inside, this home is even more impressive! You’ll love the spacious elegance throughout its impeccably furnished interior, especially in the large ballroom.
For your entertainment, the billiards room has a small yet very enjoyable pool table and the library offers a sizable selection of page-turners, along with a lovely arched Victorian-era window.
The front bedrooms, called the French and Chinese Chippendale rooms, receive an abundance of natural sunlight, while the other 3 rooms – the Queen Anne, Hitchcock, and Canopy bedrooms – get a little less sun, making them great for sleeping in late.
The massive fully equipped kitchen is stocked with every culinary appliance you could possibly need. Gather in the adjoining formal dining room to enjoy your home-cooked dinner around the expansive table with seating for 12, decorated in gorgeous banded wood for a very elegant dining experience.
Adjacent to the dining room is the Gold Parlor, a beautifully sophisticated room with an American Empire style of décor.
The Green Parlor, a very comfortable room decorated in the Chippendale style, features a large flat screen TV with DVD player.
This exquisite house is centrally located right next to Chelsea Parade, offering easy access to practically everything the area has to offer!
Several attractions are even within walking distance, such as the Slater Art Museum, which is located right across the street. Norwich Free Academy and Park Congressional Church are also in close by.
Another notable attraction close by is the Leffingwell Inn and Museum, a historic house depicting colonial life in the surrounding area.
There are 6 golf courses within 30 minutes of the property, the closest being only 10 minutes away in Norwich. Lake of Isles, River Ridge, Stonington, Mohegan Sun Country Club, and the Pequot Golf Course are all nearby as well.
The property is conveniently located 20 minutes outside of New London, which offers Mystic Whaling Cruises ranging from single-day to multiple-day excursions. In September, OpSail sponsors a large schooner festival.
Mystic Seaport, a museum devoted to maritime pursuits in the area, has a fascinating replica of a historic village located just 30 minutes from the home, along with Mystic Aquarium.
Essex Steam Train and Riverboat are approximately 30 minutes away, featuring schooner tours of the area that depart from the riverboat platform. The Connecticut River Museum and Pratt House are also located there.
Additionally, you'll find a great children’s museum in Niantic, about 35 minutes away.
For the shopping enthusiast in the group, Westbrook and Clinton outlet malls are just a bit south of Niantic.

This house is amazing! there are plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone, and enough living space that you are never on top of one another. We recently rented this home for a business trip and stayed here with the owners of a few other businesses. We could eat together at the huge dining room table, but could go off on our own and have private space to work. this old house is beautiful inside and has everything you need. It is only about 20 minutes to the casino and only a few minutes to restaurants and shopping. We will stay here again!!!
Charming historic experience
This house is an experience not just a vacation home. The property's history and location are the best part of the experience. My family and I found it very interesting and enjoyable.
Awesome place to celebrate my sons 21st Birthday with the family. Only 10-15 minutes from either casino. Even had a parade right outside the house as an added bonus. The only issue was the double beds were small for two grown adults. The rooms were big enough that they could have put queen beds in them.
Perfect! Had a dinner for 30 people honoring My son and his fellow Cadets at the USCGA! Great house ! We will be back.
The Teel House is beautiful! We had our wedding here and it was amazing. Being able to have guests and some help stay onsite with us was a blessing. The ballroom floor definitely needs some TLC, but that didn't take away from our day.
Very cool historic home!
There is lots and lots of room, everyone you look there are interesting architectural details. The only negatives we experienced was the difficulty of cooling the house down, despite all of the box fans, and the shower water taking a bit of time to warm up. I would love to see the house again once more renovations are made.
