About Colleen

I have travelled the world and know what makes the perfect holiday. From staying in lighthouse cottages in NZ to sailboats in Hawaii, I have some inside knowledge on how to make life easier for you while you are on vacation. We adore Dungarvan and what it has to offer.

Nothing is too much bother for us. We are nearby to help you enjoy your stay.

Colleen purchased this house in 2012

Why Colleen chose Dungarvan

This house has a romantic story for my parents. Its where they first met 40 years ago. They fell for each other over the door step while my mother was visiting a family friend and my father was being a rogue. After the old owners passed away, my mother bought this property for all the right reasons. The love that has been poured into making this house the perfect retreat can be sensed the second you walk through the door. Luxury and convenience often do not go hand in hand but in this case, they are best friends.

What makes this house unique

Our luxury retreat is the perfect location for winter or summer holidays. In summer, we make the most of the coastal location by visiting all the nearby beaches, harbors and cliffs. And in winter, we cosy up by the Stanley wood-burning stove or go to one of the many local lively pubs where the music plays til early into the morning.

The house is located at the beginning of the beautiful Waterford Greenway which runs along a former historic railway line and takes travelers between the country’s oldest city, Waterford, and the bustling foodie town of Dungarvan.

Fabulous home downtown Dungarvan

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented this beautiful home in Dungarvan for one week and we enjoyed every minute staying there. It was very conveniently located in Dungarvan so you could walk everywhere in town. It was also well located for day trips throughout southeast Ireland.

The newly built home is immaculately clean, has lovely furniture, the beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was very well stocked. In addition, when Kathy welcomed us to her home, she filled the refrigerator for us with more than enough food for two meals. She was very thoughtful. There are three spacious bedrooms and two full bathrooms with walk in showers. And again, everything was immaculately clean (which is a top priority for us). There is no private parking but this was a nonissue for us as the police (garda) station is located across the street and that is where we parked our car each night. It was literally a one minute walk. You can pull up in front of the house to load and unload the car, but then each evening we would just park in the lot when we returned from our excursions. Worked very well for us, it really was not a problem at all.

We very highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone who is looking for a place in southeast Ireland or specifically in Dungarvan. It was so nice, we would definitely stay there again.

Dungarvan Holiday

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a wonderful week in Dungarvan. Colleen met us upon arrival, along with her mother who gave us the tour of their lovely property. She had left all the essential food stuffs to get our holiday started, which was a lovely touch and explained how everything worked. Once we settled in, we were able to relax and enjoy what this property has to offer...lots of space, good sized bedrooms (incl. an ensuite bathroom in the main bedroom), great kitchen with all the amenities and of course the lovely 'suntrap' courtyard. Also, as we have 2 children and the weather can sometimes be a bit unkind, they have satellite tv for kids channels and great wifi...so they were never bored on rainy afternoons.

The property is also very centrally located in Dungarvan for shops, pubs & restaurants and literally a short drive from the N25 to Cork.

I would definitely recommend this property for that real 'home from home' feeling and again thanks to Colleen and her mum for making us feel some welcome.

Dungarvan is a stunning town on the coast between Waterford and Cork, 5 minutes from the beach and only 15 minutes from Ardmore.

Dungarvan is surrounded by such natural beauty as sandy beaches, colourful mountains and deep rivers.

Dungarvan is famous for its abundance of glorious golf courses; The Gold Coast, West Waterford Golf club and Dungarvan Golf club.

As far as food-lovers go, our coastal location offers a feast for the senses. the Tannery, The Moorings and Merry's Gastropub all offer a feast, and indeed entertainment, fit for a king. Dungarvan's renowned Waterford Food Festival 2016 is taking place on 14th-17th April this year.

Every outdoor enthusiast will enjoy a trip to this part of west Waterford. Locals are extremely proud of the newly opened Deise Greenway, a green way path for cycling, running and walking. It is truly a magnificent addition to this already fabulous location.

Waterford Greenway, the longest off-road walking and cycling experience in Ireland officially opened in March 2017. The eagerly awaited €15 million project stretches 46km from Waterford City to Dungarvan along the former Great Southern and Western Railway line.

The major tourism initiative now features in the Atlantic Coast Route of EuroVelo, a long distance cycling network connecting Europe. It is also part of Fáilte Ireland’s Ancient East experience.

Deep Sea Fishing, angling, whale watching and bird watching are popular amongst both tourists and locals.

Each April there is an excellent celebration of food know as 'West Waterford Food Festival'. Its a great weekend to be located in the town, a stones throw from the food trails and farmers market
