Originally built in the 1920s, our home has beautiful original woodwork and stained glass. The spacious lower flat is perfect for families or groups of friends. I have owned my house for 16 years. It's a great little place and a wonderful space. The house is a traditional Milwaukee bungalow style duplex (two-family). This listing is for the two bedroom downstairs. This is truly a whole house in itself. There's a full living room, dining room, and kitchen. Guests also have access to the laundry machines in the basement. A small pet will be considered on a case by case basis and subject to a non-refundable additional fee. Located in the awesome and cool Riverwest neighborhood there are many coffee shops, restaurants, parks and public transportation just blocks away. (For an idea of the distance from the house to your Milwaukee destination or points of interest, use Kern Park at 3614 N Humboldt Blvd, Milwaukee, WI as a starting location.) I love this place and I hope you will too.

About E Marie Broussard
Welcoming guests to our home is in my genes. As a child growing up in California, I watched my grandmother open her home to people for as far back as I could remember. People in need of a place to stay were always welcome in my grandmother's home. It was a way of life. Homeaway gives me the opportunity to continue that family tradition. I thoroughly enjoy making a home away from home for our guests, who come from all walks of life and every corner of the globe.
E Marie Broussard purchased this House in 1999
Why E Marie Broussard chose Milwaukee
I bought my house because I wanted my daughter to grow up in a home that was part of a wonderful neighborhood and a close knit community. My daughter is now all grown up and off on her own adventures (although she does help me manage the listing). Hosting and welcoming guests to Milwaukee gives us an opportunity to share the warmth of our home with those looking to experience Milwaukee and all it has to offer.

Milwaukee Riverwest Bungalow
Property is in a great location, the house itself needs some work but otherwise it was perfect for my needs and location.
Marie the house owner is a very nice person.
Reasonable place to stay.
We stayed 2 nights with 4 couples using bottom and top rentals. It was close to a niece of ours, who lived in Shorewood. Made it easy to do some visiting with her. The double rental has beautiful old charm, but does need some repair and updates.
Perfect property for a great weekend!
We had a great time spending Thanksgiving at this cute bungalow. Marie was a great host and always emailed me back promptly. The house was comfy and clean. If there is anything to complain about is that there is no off street parking but that is what you get when you want to stay in a city. We enjoyed being so close to Kern park and Colectivo Coffee. I would stay here again!
Cozy, comfortable weekend away
My friends and I immediately felt at home in this house and had the most fantastic time,
Very nice, lots of character
Great location and great communication from home owners.
Comfortable Bungalow in diverse neighborhood.
We really enjoyed our stay in this 2-bedroom home. Marie was very helpful and welcoming in communicating important information about our stay. She followed up with messages to make sure that we had everything we needed and that everything was okay. Overall, I would say that this was an excellent value for the price. Considering the lower price point on this property, it was not surprising that there were some features that were outdated and slightly shabby, somewhat reminiscent of some of the houses I rented while in college. On the other hand, there were some beautiful original features of the home that were quite well-preserved, and, most importantly, it was clean. All things considered, everything was functional and we had no problems during our stay. The only thing that felt like somewhat of a surprise was the fact that there were renters upstairs. They were not noisy or inconsiderate but we certainly heard them walking around and coming and going in the early morning and one late night. I would not recommend this place for someone who is easily disturbed by this kind of noise.
We felt very welcomed by the friendly neighbors and we enjoyed walking to the parks and coffee shop (Colectivo) in the blocks close by. We also liked seeing the classic old-Milwaukee homes that were abundant in the neighborhood. It was a comfortable place to be and reminded us of our own neighborhood in Portland. I would definitely recommend this place with the slight qualification mentioned above.
