Unique, very cool streamside apartment

  • 4 of 5

The apartment is nestled in the Catskills alongside a stream that we enjoyed to its fullest! So peaceful in its surroundings and sound of quick running creek. The housing is very cool and uniquely decorated. We spent a little time in Phoenicia, a little more time in Woodstock and even more time hiking the woods & mountains - and amazing reservoir about 15 miles away. There were a couple little things that could be improved upon, but we discussed with the owner and probably won't be an issue for future visitors. Thank you for allowing us to rent your awesome space!

Not as expected

  • 3 of 5

It was alittle worrisome there was no fire alarm or fire extinguisher and the property was slightly cluttered. We also felt strange there was someone else living there in the downstairs apartment. The site explained it was secluded but it didn't feel as though. It was cozy at night and the hummingbirds were a nice site. The stream was enjoyable but it was disappointing to find out the owner had to be present to light the fire pit near the stream. Overall the streamside and scenery was amazing. Ulster county itself is a great place to visit. Ian did checkin to make sure we enjoyed our stay or needed anything which was kind.

Fantastic remote getaway

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time at Ian's. The streamside was beautiful and the actual accommodations were more than we ever could've expected. Private and serene. Be sure to bring an extra bottle of wine because it gets pretty hard to leave waterfront when the sun starts setting. Also plan on spending an extra hour or so in one of the best showers ever. Thanks again Ian!

Great base for our outings in the area

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was roomy and well appointed. The starter breakfast supplies were much appreciated. The shower was great too - always nice after a long day in the outdoors. We will definitely try to book again when we return to the area.

Owner's Response: It was a pleasure to have you and your group stay. Come back when water is down to make the most of your fishing the Esopus. Thanks for the rare beer.

Very Happy!!!

  • 5 of 5

Very happy with hospitality of the owner. we had very interesting and fun 3 days. Back yard leads to the river where he had a nice set-up of table, chairs and bonfire that made our nights very romantic. He was also very helpful with giving us good suggestions about surrounding sightseeing. So, we are very happy and highly recommend renting Ian's place.

Owner's Response: CC, Will and daughter were wonderful guests. They were warm, considerate and generous. At the end of their stay, the place was left very clean. I can't recommend them enough. Hope they come back soon.
