In HISTORIC WEST CAPE MAY, one bedroom, first floor apt with a porch is situated in a VICTORIAN BUILDING. A FABULOUS LOCATION with some of the USA’s BEST BEACHES, BIRDING, DINING & SIGHTSEEING within a 10 minute walk. Your host, on premises, is a Cape May native happy to share info on the best of Cape Island & it's best kept secrets. You are in an historic residential neighborhood. Within a few blocks there are several excellent restaurants, a liquor store and pharmacy.

The apartment has WONDERFUL LIGHT & A BAY WINDOW. It is simply appointed with full size range and refrigerator. With 450+ square feet inside (living room, bath, kitchen, dining area and bedroom with double bed) and another 100+ on your porch it's quite comfortable for 2 people. Guests also have shared use of the GARDEN PATIO in the rear yard.

EVENTS & ACTIVITIES

The one week minimum only applies June 17 – September 29 (plus Memorial Day week).

Add to that the ongoing activities like the Physick Estate tours, Victorian district trolley tours, horse drawn carriage rides, world class birding, world class beaches (South Cape Meadows and Cape May Point State Park offer walking/birding trails through the dunes), climbing the Cape May lighthouse and world class dining and you have a fabulous getaway.

A GUEST BINDER is provided in the apartment complete with maps and personal recommendations for dining, sightseeing, etc. Guests are invited to visit my PINTEREST BOARDS ON CAPE ISLAND for my recommendations for dining, sightseeing, beaches, shopping and some great articles about Cape Island. A CUSTOM ONLINE MAP is provided locating necessities and my dining, drinking and shopping recommendations.

There is one off-street parking space dedicated to this apartment and street parking is rarely a problem.

Please note that booking company adds a service fee to all bookings.

Payment in full is required 30 days in advance. Reservations made less than 30 days in advance must be paid in full at time of booking. In the event of cancellation by the Guest, payments will be refunded only if the Apartment is re-rented at no loss to the owner and a one hundred dollar ($100.00) administrative fee will be deducted as a fee for re-rental services.

Well-behaved dogs are welcomed on a case-by-case basis with a non-refundable one-time $75 pet fee.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD:

Cape Island contains the municipalities of West Cape May, Cape May and Cape May Point. The apartment is centrally located in an historic residential neighborhood.

Cape Island offers BEAUTIFUL VICTORIAN ARCHITECTURE. Cape May is a federally designated National Historic Landmark (NHL). There are about 2500 NHLs in the USA. Most of them are single buildings. Cape May is on as a landmark district because of the concentration of Victorian architecture.

Cape May's beaches are unique, especially for the Jersey Shore, in that they are south facing. You can watch the sun rise and set without ever losing sight of the ocean. Unlike the barrier island beaches that face east, since Cape May is not a barrier island, you don't get the biting flies that often are swept in from the wetlands with a westerly breeze.

Great vacation!

Accomodations were clean and perfect for two! Having the private front porch was really nice. We enjoyed coffee in the morning and a cool drink in the evening. The location was great. We walked to the center of Cape May, antique stores, deli, liquor store and restaurants. Bring your bikes! It is an easy bike ride to the lighthouse, World War II Tower and Sunset Beach. Suzanne gave us great pointers on restaurants. Our favorites were Freda's Cafe and The Emmitt Room (best calamari!!). We definitely plan to be back.

Perfect for two!

My husband and I were looking for a place just like this for two separate weeks in Cape May. The location - in quaint West Cape May - was very convenient for shopping, dining, bike riding, beach going, walking into downtown Cape May, bike riding to Sunset Beach, Willow Creek Winery and Plum Beach Farm. There is even a lovely park within a two minute walk. The apartment's front porch was my morning coffee "happy place" while watching the sun rise over the trees across the street, and a great place to have a post-beach drink. The size of this apartment provides enough space in the living room, dining area/kitchen and bedroom and is perfect for two people. Upon our arrival, the owner Suzanne provided a tour of the apartment and lots of helpful information. We've been to Cape May many, many times but staying in this West Cape May gem was a real treat and just the relaxing experience we wanted.

Great Vacation!

Really enjoyed my stay at this rental! The owners were friendly and warm. They keep a list of recommended restaurants and activities in Cape May on Google Maps and Pinterest, which were good resources. They were very welcoming to my dog too. I thought the location was ideal -- very central -- close to the beach and several nature/wildlife preserves.

I would definitely stay here again!
