Secluded Mountain Retreat

  • 5 of 5

This is a perfect location for a super restful and relaxing get away. The house is very well kept, has a full kitchen, comfortable beds and bedding, nice heating and cooling system, hot tub, satellite tv... The property owner was very professional, friendly and helpful. She is very responsive to questions and was quite a pleasure to work with.

This house is secluded. The driveway runs on past this house, as I believe there is one property further down the driveway, but this in no way disturbed our quiet weekend. There is a back deck, facing the forest that we found very inviting, and down below is the hot tub, which is accessible from the basement door. We had a lovely time, left feeling relaxed and renewed and looking forward to next year's Annual HomeAway Wedding Anniversary Get-A-Way! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Owner's Response: I am very happy to know that you have enjoyed a perfect restful and relaxing Wedding Anniversary Get-A-Way at my Vista View Lodge Guest House. We take pride in keeping our homes as clean and organized as possible. Often, we go into the vacation rental homes to, besides doing extra deep cleaning, do an inspection and inventory of equipment and supplies to make sure that we have fresh new replacement linens and towels, and we reorganize everything in the kitchen cabinets and drawers to make sure that nothing is missing in our fully equipped kitchen. Letting us know is appreciated. Sometimes we have large groups who book both homes. That is when I seem to find extra kitchen things, or missing items. For example, if one home cooks a pie or casserole, etc., they may bring it to the other home to share, and voila!, we have missing or extra plates, etc. found in each home. It keeps us on our toes! LOL Remember, that repeat customers receive a Discount on their future stays. My homes are perfect to visit for all seasons, and the hot tubs are open year round. Thank you for coming and being great guests, and hope to see you again soon!

Stay at Vesta View

  • 4 of 5

Great place to find peace and quiet and enjoy the wonderful surroundings. Plenty of room for us and very comfortable.

It would have been even better if the roads leading to the cabin were in better shape.

Driveway a little rough for motorcycles but manageable.

Owner's Response: It sure is a peaceful place with lots of nature all around to enjoy. It is a great place to unplug and unwind. I am very happy to hear that you had plenty of room and were very comfortable. Unfortunately, I can’t make the roads up the mountain to the house become super highways to get there. If anyone wants to visit the Appalachian mountains, then it is expected to have curvy windy roads. No matter where you will want to visit a mountain home, you will always need to deal with mountainous windy roads, but it is well worth it. The road to this home is a State maintained road, and is actually considered better than the average road to a mountain home here. The driveway is gravel. We periodically add more gravel and grade it as it is needed. We have had many motorcycle groups visit Vista View, and have enjoyed the beautiful panoramic and countryside views along the drive, and have enjoyed the home tremendously. After your long day’s adventures, you can come back to the home to put your steak on the grill, enjoy a refreshing beverage while basking in the Hot Tub. Don’t forget, that if you return to visit Vista View, you will get a Discount for being a previous customer. Thank you for being great guests!

Fantastic Retreat!

  • 4 of 5

My family and I visited this location over Easter break. There are six of us (2 adults and 4 kids), and the house slept 6 perfectly. There is plenty of space inside (2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen, dining room, two bathrooms, large basement, back deck, etc.). The house was very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, and we experienced no issues with accommodations. There is a hot tub outside of the basement door. It was enjoyable, though at the time of our visit, the water was not clear.

If you aren't sure by the description, this cabin IS in the middle of nowhere. That's exactly what we had hoped to find. There was minimal to no cell reception for us (we have AT&T). There is a land line for emergencies but no internet connection (this is written in the description and is very accurate). Instructions from the host were great. She stayed in constant contact with us leading up to and during our travels. She also left chocolate Easter bunnies for our kids to help us celebrate, which was extremely thoughtful!

If selecting to stay at this location, which we recommend, take everything with you that you'll need for your trip. It is easily 30 minutes to get to the nearest store (or gas station) and the roads are tricky, narrow, and windy. The town offers a great cavern to check out and has cute shops and restaurants as well.

We are looking forward to staying again in the future!

Owner's Response: I love to hear guests with a great experience. Thank you for your compliments on your stay, as well as our interaction. We do try to make the experience memorable, as best as we can, such as the Chocolate Bunnies that we left for your children, to help celebrate the occasion. If one wants a peaceful and private stay, this is it. This is not your cookie cutter neighborhood, for sure. As a matter of fact, there are no houses near, or that can be seen. Yes, it is tucked away in the woods, and gives you the experience to enjoy nature, which is all around you. You hear nothing but the sounds of nature, and you get to see lots of animals. The drive for me is about 20 minutes from town, but may take a little longer for someone that doesn't know the roads yet. Although, it doesn't take long to figure that out You really couldn't get any closer to town, before you wouldn't be able to call it "serene". It's worth the scenic drive that takes you up the mountain to the home. I'm not aware about what you have meant about the hot tub not being clear. It is always clear upon arrival, we make sure of that. It was not notified to me by you , about this, during your stay. If by chance, you have had some use when you were there, sometimes, if a body rinse is not done before entering, it can pick up the body oils and can get a little cloudy, quickly. The solution to that, if you would have called me, would be to put a capfull of spa treatment. It filters it and clears it right up. My Agreement Form does state, that if there is something of concern when you arrive, or anytime during, to please contact us immediately. There should always be a simple solution. Don't be shy, remember that on your next stay. Thank you for being great guests! Hope to see you soon, and remember as repeat customers, you will get a Discount.

Great Time

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time, we were there on our brothers annual motorcycle ride. We were meet upon arrival by the caretaker and showed around. All linen and towels were provided. The hottub was great to come back to after a long day's ride. The countryside is beautiful and remote. Everything was clean and well maintained. Great communications with the owner, everything was covered in advance. Easy payment arrangement for security deposit. Thank You

Owner's Response: Yes, everything is basically provided, such as linens, towels, and of course it includes equipment and some supplies. You just need to bring your personal items and some food. It is a great and scenic country for riding motorcycles. I get many groups that come here to do the same. I bet the Hot Tub really felt relaxing after a day's ride. Girls Weekend

  • 5 of 5

My college girlfriends and I meet for our annual girls weekend at this cabin. The cabin is great and the surroundings are beautiful. We saw deer a couple of the mornings. We enjoyed the hot tub each night and were pleased that it is under the cover of the porch so the rain didn't stop us from enjoying it. I will say the cabin is definitely tucked away and about 30-40 minutes to Lewisburg. This is what gives it such peace and great surroundings. We would leave in the morning and come back late afternoon and fix dinner at the cabin. You won't want to be going back and forth.

It is a beautiful drive to the home with lots of wildlife to enjoy. I'm glad you were able to unwind and share it with your friends. No matter what the weather is, because the Hot Tub is protected from any weather, you can enjoy it. Thank you for being great guests. Hope to see you again soon. And don't forget, you will get a repeat guest Discount.
