Sitting on the edge of Flagler Beach with a sweeping view of the cinnamon sand and sparkling surf is Sunshine House, our newly renovated vintage bungalow. Boasting brand-new furniture, a cool retro décor, and unbeatable ocean views, it's THE place to stay!
Like something straight off the set of Mad Men, Sunshine House is a mid-20th-century cube of a house, with a flat roof and pastel colors. It sits on a prime double lot, beachfront, with a huge backyard overlooking the sea. But though it may look modest from the outside, once you step into Sunshine House, you realize you've found a truly special home-away-from-home.
Completely remodeled with terrazzo floors and a designer's eye, Sunshine House can only be described as a "swingin' beach pad"! Turn on the radio in here and you expect to hear the latest hit from the Rat Pack or news from the Kennedy White House! It's sheer fun to look at, super comfortable to stay in, and a conversation piece you'll dine out on all year. Bring the good camera and get ready to fill your Facebook page with new photos!
The wide open living and dining area is a awash in sunlight and pale tones, from the gleaming terrazzo floors to the huge powder-blue sectional that seats 8 comfortably and includes a lounger. Two ottomans in this room unfold into twin beds, accommodating any overflow of guests. (And you WILL have an overflow of guests once people find out about this place!) A giant 45" HDTV with DVD player stands ready to entertain -- after all, vintage is a great style, but there's nothing to beat modern appliances!
Sliding glass doors from the living room lead out to the back patio, where ultra-comfortable lounge and Adirondack chairs await you, and a funky little pavilion with a picnic table offers oceanside dining in the shade. (It has also been known to act as a pirate ship on rocky seas to imaginative children!) The décor here is desert modern -- no prickly undergrowth to worry about, which is great for the kids.
The living area of Sunshine House also includes a "formal" dining table and a neat diner-style banquette with an ocean view. You'll love the square white table set about with lime-green molded chairs, and the diner-style banquette is equally appealing with its booth seating. (Kids' table, anyone?) And if you wind up eating outdoors to the murmur of the sea, repurpose these tables into game or computer spaces (you have free wireless Internet here). They're just waiting for a heated Cranium match or an all-night poker game!
Beyond the dining area is our kitchen, thoroughly modern and spotlessly appointed. The wide, glossy tiles feel so good on your feet after a day at the beach! Our knobless blond cabinetry filled with cookware and utensils, the sleek breakfast bar, and the gleaming white appliances may just convince you to cook a homemade meal . . . or not. They work great for drinks and snacks too, and Palm Coast has fabulous restaurants!
After all the fun of a day at Flagler Beach, it's great to retire to the comfortable bedrooms at Sunshine House. The master bedroom is cool and breezy, with a king-sized bed, new HDTV with DVD player, and doors leading outside.
The 2nd bedroom offers a queen-sized bed and wall-mounted HDTV. Both it and the third bedroom are located on the mezzanine level. And the third bedroom is the perfect children's space, with a queen bed and a bunk with a twin on top, double on bottom. This room also has a wall-mounted HDTV, which is very handy when the pillows start flying!
Two full & 1 half bathrooms keep everyone happy at Sunshine House. The master bath is palatial, with a separate bathtub and shower, split-level design, and high window for natural light. (The washer & dryer are also stashed here.) The 2nd bathroom offers bold retro aqua & white tile plus a big shower. And the half-bath off the living room is convenient for all.
Sunshine House is a unique beach bungalow, the perfect blend of retro and modern, with the emphasis on comfort. The views are astonishing & the livin' is easy!
Hi! My name is Steve Milo and I started Vacation Rental Pros in 2006. Our family stays in vacation rental homes whenever we travel, both domestically and abroad! I own several vacation homes and listen carefully to all our guests' feedback. Our greatest compliment is when folks refer Vacation Rental Pros to their friends and relatives. We now manage over 1,800 properties in Florida, Tennessee and South Carolina. We have homes in Ft. Myers Beach, Orlando, St. Augustine Beach, Daytona Beach, Palm Coast, Ponte Vedra Beach, Hilton Head and Gatlinburg. We booked over 15,000 rentals and received over 5,000 guest reviews in 2016. Please call if you need help booking your dream vacation!
My only complaint is,when we arrived at 3:45,(check in is 3:00) our condo had not been cleaned.Bed linens & comforters had been taken off the beds. Comforters were left balled up on the beds, decorative pillows thrown on the floor, sheets in the washer. Then we discovered the bathrooms & kitchen were dirty. It was VERY disappointing. With each email we received prior to our arrival from VRBO, they were adamant about not arriving before 3:00 to insure we did not disturb the housekeeping crew, or the quality assurance crew who inspect the condo before our arrival.Housekeeping was called. 30 minutes later when no one showed up, I called Rosie, the Property Manager. She had a 2 person crew there within 15 minutes. They were very thorough, apologetic, and courteous. They were also there for 3 1/2 hours. Fortunately our children had rented #365 right next door. So we went over there for a while.Regardless, it was uncomfortable for us and the crew. (upon the 10:00 a.m. checkout time,a different cleaning crew arrived at 9:50, standing in the doorway,as though we were running late. I did Not appreciate this)

The condo itself is beautiful. Tastefully decorated, yet homey. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare our Thanksgiving dinner. ( we brought the roasting pan)
The bedrooms are a nice size ( the master bedroom is huge!)& the beds are comfy. The view is great. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony, relaxing. The pools & beach are within walking distance if you have no disabilities. Both pools are well kept. The kids enjoyed the pool & kid zone. We would definitely go back, but call first to make sure our condo HAD truly been cleaned.
We were overall very satisfied with the lovely condo.
My family had a great time. It is a great place...family friendly and wonderful beach. The only downside is no grills on the property and the unit we stayed in didn't have all that we needed to cook some nights like casserole dishes and cookie sheets. But all in all a great place. We are looking at going back in 2 years.
The beach is pristine and uncrowded. Pools are nice - we used both the "quiet" pool and the more family oriented pool. Property manager Justin was very helpful and professional with the minor cleaning (bed sheets) and maintenance (minor washing machine leak) issues we had. We'll likely be back next year for another visit!
We enjoyed our stay at Cinnamon Beach area very much. The location was great, pools and accommodations were very nice and clean. We felt very safe and secure. However, the problems we incurred with booking the reservation and the changes that were made along the way with the dates being changed on our agreement and having to move to a different condo the day before we were to leave were very frustrating to where I don't know if we will visit again even though we loved the area. We book places on a regular basis for business trips and vacation almost every month and I have never experienced such an ordeal. Teresa was very good at trying to fix the problems that arose and I don't fault her at all. I do feel like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing in your office though. We found this not only true for us but other guest that were staying also had problems with reservations as well. I hope this has helped and that the next time, if we decide to revisit it will be hassle free. Thank you.
The kitchen was not "fully equipped". It needed adequate silverware, plates, bowls, glasses, and bakingware. I literrally had to wash dishes after every meal or use paper plates. I was told the property manager would check on our situation but never received a call from him or her. So I spent more time in the kitchen than I should have just because of dirty utensils. The decor was rather bare. But I did love the location, cleanliness and quietness.
