Family get away!
We had a great time! Cottage was nice and location was great. Fishing off the dock was great!
The house is located on a beautiful lake with its own private beach. The house itself is very small but cute. The decour of the house is very outdated, but that is typical of lake houses I suppose. The beds are very hard. In the room my daughter and son-in-law stayed in the springs could be felt through the mattress. The neighbors are a bit noisy and their property looks like a well kept junk yard, which detracts from the charm of the area. Sunsets on the lake were beautiful.
We had access to the owner’s pontoon boat, kayak, and paddle boat. The pontoon boat takes some feness to get going but once it’s going it’s easy to drive. The paddle boat, on the other hand, was a nightmare. Apparently there was a hole in the top of the paddle boat that was fixed with tape. Prior to our arrival it rained a lot so water got into the hole and into one of the pontoons of the paddle boat. When my daughter, son-in-law, and their dog took the paddle boat for a spin, they got 500 yards out from shore before they started listing to the right and taking on water. My daughter was thrown from the boat, my son-in-law couldn’t move from the left side in order to keep the boat balanced, and my daughter had to push them to shore. When we told the owner about this, he shrugged it off as a joke and then said “I forgot to tell you about the drain plugs on the pontoon.”
The owner is a very nice man. He doesn’t give the best directions and often forgets to tell you important things.
Overall it was a nice trip.
Very centrally located to sights such as Ludington, Pentwater and Lake Michigan to name a few. Owner was great to work with and family loved the private beach.
Everything was Great!!!
The cottage was cozy and had everything that we needed! So quiet and relaxing there. We enjoyed the water and beach area along with the kayaks. Convienent and central location to area attractions. Will gladly stay here again.
Great start to our summer
We had our grand children with us and they thoroughly enjoyed the cottage. There was enough room for them to play around the outside of the house and the rooms were just perfect. Great fishing and swimming off the deck, a bonus!!! Thank you for sharing your cottage with us. PS the sunset's were awesome, we could watch right from the beach!!
Perfect family spot!
The cottage is clean and comfortable. The lake is good for swimming (water shoes preferred by the kids) and the pontoon, kayaks, row boat were great to have.
Close to many fun things to do. Canoed in the Pere Marquette river, spent time at the state park and shopped around Pentwater as well.
Definitely a place we would visit again .
