With highly desirable Dollar Point membership, this vacation home includes seasonal access to the swimming pool, hot tub, tennis courts, a beautiful clubhouse with games, fire pits, and, best of all, a private homeowners' beach.
You'll be on the bike trail that connects Tahoe City, West Shore, Squaw Valley and the Truckee River, close to beaches, and near Tahoe City's attractions. And when the snow is falling, the resorts of Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows are less than 10 miles away.
This home boasts a traditional feel, with a large, open, living room, dining room, and kitchen. You'll want to spend cozy evenings in front of the gas fireplace, maybe playing a family board game or just watching your favorite DVDs. There's also WiFi and cable, so you'll stay well-entertained here.
Sit down to a formal meal at the large wooden table or grab a snack at the breakfast bar. Whichever, you'll find all the appliances you need for either scenario in the bright, full kitchen. There's even a slow cooker for all-day stews, a coffee grinder for freshly ground beans each morning, and a tea kettle for that afternoon mug of Oolong.
Of course, a vacation home called "Observation Deck" needs a big deck to do a lot of observing from, and you won't be disappointed here! Just beyond the dining table, a glass door leads out to a wood deck with views of trees and the lake, extra seating for outdoor dining, and even a grill for cook outs in nice weather.
In the three bedrooms, you'll find a queen bed, and two rooms, one featuring two twins and one with one twin and a set of bunk beds (top bunk should be for the kiddos only, please), making this a great home for a family ski getaway. There are also two bathrooms conveniently located throughout the house and a washer and dryer for keeping everyone in clean, dry socks while on vacation. This home will comfortably sleep 8 guests for a spectacular Tahoe trip, or up to 10 if you include the queen airbed.
The home is located in the Dollar Point community in North Tahoe, within easy walking distance to the clubhouse. Amenities available include tennis courts, a lap pool with diving board, bocce ball, shuffleboard, playground, Frisbees, and volleyball. The clubhouse offers WiFi, lifeguards on duty, private and group swim lessons, and babysitters' lists. Just half a mile from the house is the private Dollar Point beach, with barbecues, picnic areas, beach volleyball, and perfect spots for swimming, sand castle building, and even crawdad fishing. Spread your beach blanket out on the sand in the morning, then select the perfect chaise lounge by the pool in the afternoon! Please note that some amenities are open seasonally.
Cyclists can explore miles of bike paths, one of which can be accessed just outside the community. Embark on hikes with amazing lake and mountain views, or visit Treetop Adventure Park for an afternoon on the zip lines and rope courses.
Water sports enthusiasts will want to spend time on the Truckee River for fishing, rafting, kayaking, and more. There's so much else to do, it's almost easy to forget you are right on scenic Lake Tahoe! Take a cruise on the lake, rent a boat and do your own water sightseeing, water ski - there are endless aquatic possibilities here. Those who aren't into water will still find plenty of outdoor entertainment, from golfing in Tahoe City to horseback rides at Alpine Meadows to shopping in charming Truckee. And, of course, Nevada's casinos beckon just nine miles away.
In winter, you'll find several area ski resorts to choose from. Alpine Meadows is 8 miles away, Homewood is 9 miles, Squaw Valley is 10, and both Northstar-at-Tahoe and Diamond Peak are 14 miles away. Closer to home, the Tahoe City Winter Sports Park offers both cross country skiing and snowshoeing, plus equipment rentals.

Beds were very comfortable. furniture was old but comfortable. great location and amenities. Jay Azevedo, manager was very accessible and helpful. However, there were old wet linens in the washing machine that made the house smell musty and dank. I did not discover this until the second day and had to redo that laundry to get rid of the smell.
When we first got there I was a snowstorm luckily the air conditioning and the hot water work very well there's plenty of beds and everything was in fine working condition
Good location. Great for families... BUT the property isn't quite as nice as the photos make it look. The porch roof leaks... so you have to walk around a puddle to get into the main entrance door, the master bathroom shower door doesn't CLOSE and the doors to the closets in the bedroom with the bunk beds is broken. We arrived and everything was in place (except that the cleaners had left a bunch of clean sheets etc. in the drier). There was nothing in the cabinets (not even salt and pepper) and the pots and pans could have been cleaned better. Despite all of that, the home was cozy and convenient. The location is great and a little more attention to detail before we arrived by Management would have made this a great place.
We booked this cabin for week long ski trip. It did not meet our expectations. There is no Hot Tub!! the description of the place advertised access to one but there was none!! This is a big deal and we would have picked a different cabin had we known. I contacted the property management. They offered to make good on it. I wrote them a formal letter as they requested. I have not heard back from them at all. I feel ripped off. The rest of the cabin was ok. It smelled kind of funky and there were broken chairs.
We stayed in this cabin for a week with 6 adults and 4 kids. The location is pretty good with quick access to Tahoe City and ski resorts.
The cabin could use some updating, including replacing the broken chairs in the dining room. We couldn't use those chairs, which was unfortunate as the beautiful dining room table that could accommodate our large party was one of the features that attracted us to this property.
While the age of the property can be overlooked, the cleanliness cannot, and it was a huge issue with this cabin. Thick layers of dust on the furniture, hair in dishes, blood stains on the carpet and bathroom mats, dirty toilet under the seat cover, among others, are some of the more offensive ones. The owners/property management should evaluate the cleaning crew. I would not recommend others staying here.
The house was adequate but with drawbacks. It was advertised as sleeping 8 but there were actually only beds for 7. The eighth "bed" was an ottoman-type fold-out in the main living area. The kitchen is poorly laid out and it is necessary to open the refrigerator door completely to load the dishwasher. The deck was very nice but could use more seating. It is walking distance to both the pool and beach though the latter is quite a hike. Should we return to the area, this would not be my first choice of a property.
