My husband and I stayed at this location for three nights. At first we were caught off guard as we didn't realize we were actually sharing the house and main access with George's family as we thought we'd have a private entrance. However, despite this, our stay turned out to be one of the more beautiful locations we stayed during our Maritime trip and we had no issues at all coming and going to our suite. The suite offers everything imaginable so there's nothing to want for and even having the availability of laundry was a bonus. Definite see was the Crystal Crescent beach and hike which we would recommend to anyone staying in Sambro. Thank you to George!
George was a very gracious host and willing to share his thoughts on where we should visit. If you choose Georges studio suite you will not be disappointed. All guest must go to the beach located less than a mile from the property, this is a "must see location."
The house was located with a fabulous view of the Atlantic. Close to fantastic Crystal Crescent Beach & trails.
Only 30 min from Downtown Halifax. Great place to stay.
George and Juliana have a beautiful home and the apartment is a wonderful oasis upstairs. Gorgeous views, and close to a wonderful beach. George and Juliana were very welcoming and the place was immaculate when we arrived. We will definitely be back!
This vacation suite is brand new, very clean and well appointed for a relaxing self catering holiday. It is a 1/2 hour drive outside of Halifax on a winding back road. The pay off is 5 min proximity to beautiful white sand Crystal Crescent Beach and many hiking trails. George & Julianna were very kind and generous hosts. Lots of privacy. Buy your groceries in Halifax before driving up. Peggy's Cove and Lunenburg are easy return drives and day trips to Halifax broaden a longer stay. I stayed a week with my 11 year old grandson and we were busy everyday. The property sits right on a lovely, calm cove perfect for kayaking and fishing. I would definitely return.
When we arrived I asked the owner what time was breakfast and she said there was no breakfast, I said you advertise it and that was one of the reasons we booked here.
The owner told me they don't give breakfast because they both work.
He said he asked Home Away how he should advertise the property and they told him to say it is a B&B.
The location was a new house very well looked after, a little far from Halifax but OK .
It was very clean. If it was not so far from Halifax I would recommend it to friends.
Sambro is a rural fishing community on the Chebucto Peninsula in the Halifax Regional Municipality. Sambro Harbour is home to the Sambro Lighthouse the oldest operational lighthouse in the Americas (since 1758). After founding of Halifax in 1752, in 1755, 26 families settled on Sambro Island and started working and living. The community has evolved into a fishing and tourist community over the centuries.
