Everything was great and close to Halifax
Very comfortable rural living
We found our suite very clean and comfortable, the rural setting was guiet and peaceful.George and Juliana left on holidays and their two sons were very fine hosts in their absence. If we return to the Halifax area we would be happy to stay with them again Ken& Sylvia Coulombe
Brand new build, super clean and all amenities as promised. Description of space sharing unclear.
Our units were very clean as the house is new, lots of towels and all amenities were as stated in the description. We misunderstood sharing the accommodation with the owners though. The way we interpreted the description was that our accommodation would be more private. It felt more like a hostel (shared entrance, laundry and terrace) and our daughter's room was across the hall which we also misinterpreted. Our daughters (8&10) didn't really know what to make if the "big boy" (George and Julianne's son) who was working at the kitchen table most of the time we were there. This being said we were there very little. We day tripped to Peggy's Point, ate at the Shore Club one night (a must if you love lobster- so charming and delicious!) and of course went to Crystal Cresent Beach for a banner day in the waves! An overall good experience.
Loved our stay at Sandro Creek. Was a great location. Many tourist attractions within a couple of hours drive. George provided great directions to find the property!
My husband and I stayed at this location for three nights. At first we were caught off guard as we didn't realize we were actually sharing the house and main access with George's family as we thought we'd have a private entrance. However, despite this, our stay turned out to be one of the more beautiful locations we stayed during our Maritime trip and we had no issues at all coming and going to our suite. The suite offers everything imaginable so there's nothing to want for and even having the availability of laundry was a bonus. Definite see was the Crystal Crescent beach and hike which we would recommend to anyone staying in Sambro. Thank you to George!
George was a very gracious host and willing to share his thoughts on where we should visit. If you choose Georges studio suite you will not be disappointed. All guest must go to the beach located less than a mile from the property, this is a "must see location."
Sambro is a rural fishing community on the Chebucto Peninsula in the Halifax Regional Municipality. Sambro Harbour is home to the Sambro Lighthouse the oldest operational lighthouse in the Americas (since 1758). After founding of Halifax in 1752, in 1755, 26 families settled on Sambro Island and started working and living. The community has evolved into a fishing and tourist community over the centuries.
