Our family of four, plus our daughter's friend, greatly enjoyed our first visit to the Charleston area at this home. Communications from the Management company leading up to our arrival were thorough and helpful. Access to the beach was very convenient via the access walkway, and we appreciated the wagon to help get our beach chairs and other items to and from the beach. The house was as described and was clean, well decorated with comfortable furniture, had a spacious screened porch and deck, and plenty of bedroom space for all. The kitchen area, while small, was functional and well stocked, including a nice refrigerator. We also made good use of the outdoor gas grill one evening to prepare a meal of fresh grilled summer squash and ribeyes, which we then sat down to enjoy in the separate dining room. We communicated an issue with a knob on one of the shower tubs to Management and were pleased to receive a visit from a repair person a short time later for what turned out to be a quick fix. The AC was effective, but the thermostat was apparently programmed to not go below 73 degrees, and actually switched up to 75 degrees during part of the day. We would have been a bit more comfortable if we would have had the latitude to set it a couple degrees cooler. We also brought this to Management's attention, but that did not seem to be within their control to address. The private pool was clean, but definitely very small. This is not a pool that is very conducive to swimming, splashing, and general such enjoyment one might expect; but, if docile soaking and relaxing conversation is more your expectation, than you should be OK. All in all, we were satisfied with our stay, as finding a clean, comfortable, and functional home is always a risk in renting a vacation home, and for that we were not disappointed and we would highly recommend the home to others for those reasons. Our only reason for the 4 vs 5 star rating is the pool and the AC.
