Why Jim Grant chose Maggie Valley

I ran my own real estate business for years until moving to Maggie Valley, and am very particular about any property that I buy. It has to be in the perfect location (always a top real estate consideration), and have lots of charm which will be attractive to visitors.

I fell in love with Maison Ruisseau due to its beautiful setting on a private rushing creek, separate game pavilion, beautifully treed and landscaped lot, rustic charming interior, and perfect year round access location (this is a big deal for rentals!). I think you will too!

What makes this cabin unique

Year round rushing creek right off your deck (master also opens out to it), huge detached game room with wood stove, huge flat screen TVpool table, ping-pong top, foosball, darts and more. Cabin has interior walls of rustic cedar, a huge deck, hot tub, cable TV, wireless internet, and all the natural beauty you could ever hope to find, all in a peaceful, quiet, private setting that is easy to get to and convenient to everything!

Beautiful, relaxing and wonderful home!

  • 5 of 5

We visited during spring break the week of March 11. The home was even better than the pictures and extremely clean and well cared for. The owners Jim and Carol were very responsive and Jim met us at the house to answer questions and to provide tips on where to visit and dine. The location was perfect and had very easy access on all paved roads. The views were beautiful and the creek and waterfall provided additional ambiance.

The game room was fantastic for my teenage son who usually is bored on any trip. We were lucky enough to get a good 5-6 inches of snow upon arrival and the kids spent a few hours sledding down the driveway. Overall a great rental home that we will certainly book again!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your review. It was nice that you got some snow to play in while you were here! The game room IS great for kids and the creek is good for everyone! We fell in love with the cabin and its location the first time we saw it, and now enjoy sharing it with all our guests. We're really pleased that you enjoyed your stay there :-). Jim

Wonderful, private retreat.

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was just great for our visit from October 20 - 31, 2017. It is convenient to all of the key areas of interest in NW North Carolina. Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Blue Ridge Parkway, two different National Forests and numerous small interesting mountain towns. Hundreds (literally) of waterfalls are within easy drive and hike. Also convenient for shopping and restaurants. The creek behind the cabin provides constant calming noise and the amenities are just as described. What a wonderful "fall color" time to be there.

Great cabin in a great location

  • 5 of 5

Jim and Carroll always have their properties in tip-top shape. This was the first time we'd stayed in their cabin, and we loved it! It's in a nice wooded neighborhood, and we enjoyed the sound of the nearby creek, which is just behind the cabin. We used the hot tub twice a day, and it was wonderful to just walk to the back deck and climb in. And we played pool and ping pong with our daughters in the detached game room. We'll definitely come back to this cozy cabin!

Wonderful getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Our family just spent a wonderfully relaxing 3 days here. This cabin had everything we were looking for and then some! My favorite part was falling asleep at night to the sounds of the rushing creek behind the house. And relaxing in the hot tub was an added bonus. The game room was also a lot of fun--pool table, ping pong darts and more! The house was comfortably furnished, and the one level feature was perfect for our aging dog. The owners were great--they had everything ready for us and Jim met us there when we arrived to show us around the place. The location is ideally situated in Maggie Valley. The Cataloochee horse ranch is up the mountain behind the house for those interested in horse rides. We had a great experience and hope we can come back.

Owner's Response: Susan, Thanks for the nice review! We are certainly glad that you found the cabin relaxing, and our area fun to visit. Please thank your husband for his assistance with our little water heater challenge--nothing like having a good plumber as a guest :-). Please come back in the summer when you can enjoy the creek even more !! Best wishes, Jim and Carroll
