About the property

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 1-4)

PLEASE SEE OUR NEW LISTING #912653

Please note as of November 1, 2017 due to city mandate, there is a parking pad at the street and a maintained asphalt path to the cabin. The path 100 feet long. It will be cleared for snow, but please have your snow boots ready!

A cozy theme cabin with quality log-cabin style furnishings located on a private wooded lot with direct access to USFS land, it really feels like living in the mountains! Hike out the back less than 2 minutes to incredible views of the lake and Mt Tallac.

We nicknamed the cabin 'The Treehouse' because of it's wooded surroundings and comfy feel. It is two stories with the loft and main bedroom upstairs. The cabin is located at the end of a dead-end street surrounded by forest. Enjoy the hot tub in the middle of a snowstorm or at the end of a long summer hike. My family and friends have spent many fun-filled weeks at the cabin.

In the summer you can bike to Pope Beach and Camp Richardson. In the winter you can hike up behind the cabin and ski or snowboard down Twin Peaks for a little backcountry experience. We love it!

About Heather

I love all the outdoor activities Tahoe has to offer and a few it doesn't: my husband and I travel the world to feed our kiteboarding addiction and to immerse ourselves in a variety of cultures.

Heather purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Heather chose Tahoe Valley

I moved to South Lake Tahoe in 1999 with the intention of staying one winter and never left. Tahoe is an amazing place! As a lover of the outdoors, it's the most incredible place to live.

Being from Oregon, my family bought a vacation home on the same street as my cabin in 1983. We vacationed in Tahoe every summer and some winters while I was growing up. I have such fond memories of all of us together laughing and playing in this beautiful place. The 'hill' behind my cabin used to be our playground in the 80's. My parents still own their vacation home just one block away.

What makes this cabin unique

Since the cabin used to be my primary residence and I love to cook, the kitchen is well stocked with quality pots and pans, and utensils. There's a PS3 that allows for blu-ray DVD watching and streaming Netflix. I love to listen to music and hang out with friends and family who come to visit. In the summer we BBQ on the deck and eat outside on the picnic table. In the winter, we enjoy evening hot tubs with cocktails. We almost always take advantage of the short hike straight up behind the property for views of the lake.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had an amazing time! Yall's place is perfect. Since I've gotten back I've told just about everyone I know they need to go to yall's place. It's cozy, homey, intimate, secluded but close to town, and the short hike up the back hill is really amazing at the top. We took a bottle of wine up there and just hung out for a while taking in the view. I don't think we could have found a better place.

Feel like your off the grid... a cozy cabin in the woods.

  • 5 of 5

Loved being away from all the traffic and people at this cabin since summer in Tahoe is very busy. Hiked the trail behind the cabin and found beautiful views. Heather was attentive to our needs and responded to our questions very quickly! The hot tub was a wonderful way to end and begin the day! Very enjoyable visit. Thanks Heather for sharing your cabin. Beautiful, perfect little getaway

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful, cozy cabin that feels rather secluded. The short hike out the back door will take you to views as good as you'll get at any rental in the area. Heather is very nice and responsive to inquiries. Great place, all around, and we'll be coming back someday.

Cute Cozy Cabin Perfect for a Romantic Getaway

  • 4 of 5

Overall, a lovely cabin best suited for two people although it can fit up to four.  I booked the cabin for my husband and I as part of our one year wedding anniversary. The cabin is in a nice peaceful neighborhood on a dead end street.  Feels off grid, but close to many stores and activities. Comfortable bed, full kitchen, high end washer/dryer, gas BBQ, and a hot tub.  My favorite part was relaxing in the hot tub at night.  Perfect for star gazing!  The Wi-Fi works great.  There is a nice entertainment center if you feel inclined to watch a movie and a collection of books and board games.  The owner, Heather, is great at communicating.  The only suggestion I have is to add curtains and/or blinds to the downstair windows.  I really value privacy, so I felt a bit uncomfortable at night knowing that anyone could look in.

Romantic & Relaxing Honeymoon!

  • 5 of 5

After preparing for our wedding it was wonderful to arrive at the Tree House for a romantic and relaxing honeymoon. Awaiting our arrival were a beautiful bouquet of flowers and my favorite wine was chilled. The cabin is close to all South Lake Tahoe activities and more. However, the cabin has everything and more. Awesome time and hope to return to celebrate our special day again and again.

Property is exactly as advertised and more!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the fireplace, hot tub, big comfy bed and blankets... the trail behind the cabin leads to a gorgeous overlook of the surrounding area. Perfectly cozy for two, but might feel a bit cramped for 4 adults. Exactly what I was hoping for. :)

Cozy & Comfortable Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had a very nice stay in this clean, cozy, and well equipped cabin. It had all the room and amenities we needed. We took long hikes around the Lake Tahoe area every day, so the hot tub was great for soaking our tired joints and muscles upon our return to the cabin. The short hike behind the cabin had outstanding panoramic views. Heather was great to work with, both before and after our stay. We love the Lake Tahoe area and we would definitely stay here again. The only thing we would recommend is some blinds on the windows for more privacy. All in all, a great place to stay!
