3 Bedroom, 2.5 Bathroom Private Home
We built our home in 2004, cut from over 3 acres of woods in the heart of Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park. It sits 1 mile north of Somes Sound, and is within easy reach of hiking, biking, carriage roads, boat tours, and all of the shopping and restaurants to be found in the several quaint towns on the island.
We created our space to gather and connect with family and friends, and hope that you enjoy it, too.
Our home sleeps seven easily. The master bedroom has a king bed and is located on the main floor. Two bedrooms and a full bathroom are on the 2nd floor. The kitchen is fully-appointed to help you create memorable meals; dine inside on our farmhouse table, or eat on the deck. We also maintain a lovely kitchen garden, and welcome guests to pick what they need to round out their meals - it would be a shame for fresh produce to go to waste! After a busy day of adventuring in the park, relax in the deep jacuzzi master tub, or sit by the fire pit and cook S'mores.

Perfect
Charming property and delightful owners.
Couldn't get any better!
This home was truly that . . . a home! Starting with several welcome texts prior to our stay, a basket of welcome goodies waiting when we arrived and encouraging us to ask them for advice about the island, everything was perfect. The home is fantastic and Kirk and Claudine couldn't have been better hosts. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer!
Perfect location for early fall visit to Acadia
Fernhaven was a perfect location for our five night early fall family vacation to Acadia and Campobello. It is a lovely property and well appointed, both inside and out. We made good use of the fire pit and hot tub. We look forward to returning!
Perfect spot for us!
We stayed for 4 nights at Fernhaven with our son and his family. It was wonderful. The adults were happy with the very comfortable accommodations, a kitchen with everything we could need, a fire pit to sit by in the evening, a hot tub to relax in after hiking all day. (And a big television to watch the Red Sox). Everything was spotless and the Lurveys were a text away if we needed anything. (Although we didn't, they had thought of everything!). The kids ages 4 and 6 could have played for hours in the outdoor castle that someone had build, at the edge of the yard. And if that wasn't enough, the indoor secret dragon loft kept them busy in the house.....as well as the legos. Games available for a rainy day...though we had none. All this and only 15 or 20 min from Acadia and down town Bar Harbor. I highly recommend staying here! Will definitely stay again if I get up this way again.

We loved our stay at Fernhaven. The home is beautiful. The owners are extraordinary. They provide everything and more that you would need. It's the perfect place to stay when in Bar Harbor. It's close to everything. Our grandkids loved the yard, the garden, the bunny path and of course the hot tub We hope to come back someday.
Wonderful home
My family and I loved our stay at this comfortable, spacious home. We loved enjoying the outdoor and indoor space. We hope to come back soon!
