This little cottage gives an opportunity to relax and enjoy some of the most beautiful sunsets on the Outer Banks as you sit on the Albemarle Sound. This cottage is surrounded by farm land yet within ten minutes of Outer Banks beaches, restaurants, golf coarses and all the beach attractions.
You will wake up in the middle of an English garden right on the Albemarle Sound ready to kayak, canoe, sky, fish and crab right in you back yard. The views from the upstairs bedroom look through the trees right into the sound ... like being in a tree house. The main first floor bedroom opens onto a sleep porch with a wonderful view of the sound.
Children love the fish pond and swing out front and the sound is only wast deep for sever hundred feet out.
Upon request Audrey and I are available to teach mindfulness meditation and a practice of the breath. These practices can reduce blood pressure, help to loose weight, give kids better focus in school and in dealing with ADD & ADHD, and can help heal many diseases. Also upon request carving lessons on primitive driftwood will be given in the carving shack out back.
Keywords: Sound Front, safe shallow swimming, sandy beach, farmland all around, meditation cabin.
Audrey and I have been married 49 years in what has been a rocky yet wonderful relationship. Audrey is an artist in the primitive form of driftwood carving and loves working with the creative side of young people. I teach a form of mindfulness meditation and pranayama (the breath) for healing. We also practice a 5,000 year old form of healing called "Ayurveda". You would be most familiar with this through Dr. Oz. We travel to India annually to learn and be treated by Ayurvedic Doctors. We both love the outdoors and when traveling we normally stay in tents. My most memorial trip was bicycling 5,400 miles across the U.S. with our two boys , Maury and Greg.
Maury purchased this house in 1995
We chose this location to get away from the traffic and noise on the main part of the Outer Banks. The sound is so nice for children and Audrey and our English Setter (MarSea) both love the water.
The cottage is located is a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy the water. Water is a wonderful setting for meditation and grounding. To be this close to the sound and so many water activities is also pretty nice.
The house was very nice and fully stocked. House could have used a cleaning before we got there. Cobwebs and lots of bugs that we cleaned up on our first day. The property was absolutely beautiful and very serene. Owner very very hard to get in touch with. Tried for months to get him to send us a contract and never did receive one. Had to call and leave messages and did emails and texts before we arrived. Never refunded our overage that we paid. Also on the day that we departed, we got a call from someone that he had managing the property telling us to take the garbage to the dump. We had no idea where the dump was nor felt that we should have to load the garbage up and haul it away ourselves for what we were paying for our stay. We had already left due to Hurricane Hermine the night before so that we could get out of there and up to Norfolk. I would advise that they get a garbage can outside for garbage. There wasn't any so we had to leave it in the back room shed part. Overall, it was a very nice stay for our Son's wedding. They left a bottle of wine and nice note for us when we arrived. I would advise going there for a vacation.
Fish, boating, skying, swimming, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, crabbing right in your backyard.
