Arizona Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8) 6 Miles from Downtown

The fully furnished Flagstaff Rental Cabin is the perfect place to relax and enjoy your time away in a place that has everything you need - think of it as your own second home.

Wake up and enjoy a cup of coffee on the romantic balcony off the second floor, or the main deck below. Look out into the peaceful canyon and listen to nothing but the breeze and birds in the trees...in other words: enjoy life!

When you need some excitement, just head 6 miles north and you are in enchanting Downtown Flagstaff. Great restaurants and outdoor activities abound year round.

Want a quiet night in? No problem, plenty of places to read a good book, play games with the family, or watch Unlimited NetFlix movies or Cable TV on our new 55' 3D TV in the Great Room, or 42' HD Flatscreens in both upstairs bedrooms. High Speed WiFi is also available if you need to take care of any business.

When it's finally time for bed, you are in for a treat! This Cabin is almost like walking into a high end Mattress store with a perfect bed for any taste.

The Master bedroom has a King Size iComfort Memory Foam bed. That alone is great, but add a fully adjustable base with Massage and you can't get better than that. Oh wait. How about we add all Polo Ralph Lauren bedding? Ok, fine, done. The second bedroom has a Simmons Beautyrest mattress with the same adjustable, massage and Ralph Lauren treatment.

Downstairs, the 3rd bedroom has 2 Queen beds, one with a Latex Natural Foam bed, the second a comfy spring mattress with a Pillow Top. Once again, all Ralph Lauren bedding for the best sleep possible.

About Steve Sasman

Hello! My name is Steve. Having grown up in Colorado, then going to college in AZ and starting a business in Phoenix, it was nice to be able to get a great place in Flagstaff that is completely different than Phoenix, yet only 2 hours away. I hope you enjoy my place as much as I do!

Steve Sasman purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Steve Sasman chose Arizona

Living in Phoenix, I loved that it was just a bit south of Flagstaff, making the drive in shorter. However, it is just 6 miles into Downtown Flagstaff, so it's very easy to get into town. I really like the fact that it is in 'the woods' with lots of trees and fresh air. There are no homes in back of the cabin, and all you see is a canyon and trees...so relaxing to sit on the deck and enjoy the day. Flagstaff itself is such a great little town - lots of restaurants, friendly people, and plenty of outdoor activities year around. Oh, and of course, it's usually about 30 degrees cooler than Phoenix, so that is a very nice perk as well!

What makes this cabin unique

I really like the complete change of pace from Phoenix. Sitting on the great deck, and really relaxing is so enjoyable. Frankly, the cabin is nicer than the place I live in Phoenix! I'm jealous every time I rent it out!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We drove up from Phoenix to go snowboarding. Nice cabin, very comfortable. Thank you for letting us stay.

Flagstaff retreat

  • 5 of 5

We booked the house several months out and was impressed with the ease of the process and the professionalism and responsiveness of the owner. Upon arrival, we entered the code into the door and entered our home for the next week. Our family of 4 stayed with another family of 3, and it turned out to be the perfect size for us. We visited during the summertime and imagine this would be a gorgeous location on top of the hill during the winter.

Highlights: General location: While South of downtown Flagstaff, we enjoyed being a little bit away from the action of the city. We took day-trips to Sedona, Grand Canyon, Bearizona and enjoyed the central location.

Deck is awesome. Large gas grill for grilling out. They left a Cintronella candle to ward off any mosquitoes which was very nice.

Large living area with lots of seating for game playing and adults to chat.

Bedding was super comfortable and the adjustable beds were fun and functional.

Responsive owner: We had a minor toilet issue and received a quick response from ownership. Appreciated his professionalism every step of the way.

Needed a little work: Not a lot of glassware or plates....was tough to come up with plates and cups without constantly washing. My tip would be to buy some Solo cups and paper/plastic plates before you go. While there was a dishwasher on site, only 1 dishwashing pod was there.

Not the property's fault, but cellular service is awful at the house. Luckily, Wifi is offered with clear instructions provided.

There is only a gas station/Subway at the off-ramp. Unless you want to pay $9 for a stick of butter, I'd recommend driving up to Flagstaff for a Target/Sprouts run!

Overall, I would recommend this house and location. We had a great time with no issues at all and appreciated the ease of working with this owner.

dated - mostly clean and no AC

  • 3 of 5

Who stayed - Mother /Daughter weekend with my daughter and my friend and her two daughters and of course myself in July, 2 nights

Things I loved:

Beds were all REALLY comfortable

TV's - not that we used it much but was nice to watch a movie

Beautiful wooded area behind home and there was a walking trail not far from the house

Great Decks - enjoyed coffee each morning and a drink each night.

Close to downtown Flagstaff

Plenty of blankets/pillows

Why I wouldn't return:

NO AC - this turned out to be an issue when a neighbor and a dog was really loud intermittently through the night and had to close the windows @12am and it's really stuffy with out the open windows or AC (yes, we did have the fans going). We were coming from Phoenix to escape the heat/stuffy feeling is what we were trying to escape. We were not leaving 3 teenage girls downstairs bedroom with the windows open and a drunk neighbor being loud - so all 5 of us ended up sleeping upstairs with windows closed. First night with the windows open upstairs was comfortable but the girls were stuffy in the downstairs bedroom.

Things that were a slight inconvenience but not the determining factor to not return:

No ice maker or filtered water (if this matters) - it does make it nice to have. Fridge froze some of our food so, I think it is on it's way out...

We did have a nice spider friend that visited on the first night above the bed (2 other bugs were dead) this made for a funny story but with 3 teenage girls -it caused a little drama.

Thank you for opening your home and the positives I have mentioned, it just wasn't a fit for myself.

Great cabin in a beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

Second summer that I have stayed here, and it was great both times. This last time we stayed for six nights, and had a blast. The cabin is large and comfortable (we had 3 adults and 4 kids), and the balcony is as pretty and relaxing as it looks in the picture. The kids (ages six to 11) loved the air hockey/ping pong table. The beds are very comfortable (upstairs beds are adjustable). The instructions left are very clear regarding how to use the televisions, Wi-Fi, grill, etc. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, and the washer and dryer are good quality. The grill is also very easy to use, because it has a gas line, so no dealing with charcoal or propane tanks.

The location is great, as it is very pretty, but also very close to Flagstaff destinations. We hung out at Thorpe Park near downtown Flagstaff, hiked at Buffalo Park, went horse-back riding near Mormon Lake (about 1/2 hour away), and spent a day at Bear Paw at the Wyndam Resort (great for the kids, and very inexpensive.) The cabin was a great hub for day trips, but also nice to stay in for relaxing, lazy days.

Steve was great about providing all the info we needed well in advance of our stay. We didn't need to contact him for anything during our stay, but given his quick responses prior to the trip, I'd say he has good customer service.

I'd definitely recommend this cabin for a relaxing, laid back vacation.

Awesome

With the weather being awesome the area is very quiet and the house is clean and comfortable. There is a squirrel that plays on the patio and that was great entertainment. Would rent again.

peaceful retreat

  • 5 of 5

This home is fully equipped for a lovely getaway. We truly enjoyed the peaceful neighborhood, the serene patios and comfortable living spaces.

The owner was very responsive and quick to our requests.

My only suggestion would be for additional chairs at the dining table. With our larger family, 4 chairs were not enough.

Thank you for the great weekend
