About the property

3 bdrm, 2 bath beach/garden paradise

The house is very private leading you from the front entry gate into a garden paradise. The living space is bright with vaulted ceilings and a wall of doors that lead out onto a large wooden deck and extraordinary outdoor spaces . There is an outdoor eating area with BBQ. directly off the living dining area. This beautiful home is gated and secure with a wonderful open floor plan. You'll enjoy the nicely improved bathrooms.

The entire home is fitted with hardwood floors and ambient dimmer lighting in every room but the master bedroom.

The kitchen is small but well equipped with everything you could possibly need to feel at home including all appliances, dishes, dish towels,cooking equipment and useful condiments.

The master bedroom has a California King bed with Temperpedic mattress. It also has a nook with a desk.

The second bedroom has a queen bed, and has its own private entrance and ensuite bathroom.

The third bedroom has a Queen bed. There is plenty of bedding, comforters, blankets and pillows for your use.

If needed I have a queen self inflating aero mattress with sheets. These will be available depending on the number in your party or by request.

There is a large walk in closet in the two rooms that are for guest and storage of extra blankets.

The master bedroom closet is not accessible to our guests.

We have a smart HGTV and blue ray DVD player with many DVD's (mostly for kids or nature like the entire Star Wars series or Planet Earth and lots of classics like Mary Poppins). there are I Pod blue tooth radio docs in both the living room and Master Bedroom and a CD player and CD's for your use in the living/dining space and 2nd bedroom.

The main bathroom has a large Jacuzzi tub with rain fall shower. We have cozy cotton bathing and beach towels for our guests as well as wash cloths, shampoo, basic bathing supplies, and a hair dryer for your use.

Please feel free to use our supplies and other fun items including buckets, games, beach towels, boogie board, game boards, books, scooter etc. Please take good care of our belongings when being used. Please do not take bath sheets or bathing towels to the beach or to wipe off makeup. The laundry machines outside to the left of the second bedroom are brand new as of Sept. 2016. I will have some laundry soap here for your use. The house has central air and heat but mostly unnecessary unless you were here last year!. Please never leave air or heat on with doors and windows open. The fireplace is out of service.

I will be minutes away assuming we are not also on vacation! We do live in this house when it is not being rented so we may very well be on vacation! However, depending on your arrival, I will try to have someone there to check you in and show you around. If not, I will notify you on how to access the house. I may need to come by at times to water the garden, take out the trash and possibly work in the garage. I will communicate with you prior to coming.

There is driveway parking for one car and street parking for a second vehicle. Being far enough away from the madness of Venice beach, there is usually plenty of street parking, however, if you park on the street you will have to pay attention to posted street cleaning days, so as not to get a ticket. These days are WED and THURS, 10-noon.

House Rules:

This is our family home so it is important to us that it be treated with the utmost respect.

No parties, No drugs, loud music and only registered guests are allowed without prior permission.

No noise after 10 PM during the week or Before 9AM, out of respect to our neighbors. This is a quiet residential neighborhood and there are children that must get up early and parents that need to sleep in, so I will hear about it if you are on the deck being too loud!

No overnight guest and all guest staying at the house must be listed on the reservation including children.

There is one spot for a car in the driveway and plenty of parking on the street for a second car.

No smoking in the house! Smoking is allowed outside and all cigarettes must be extinguished in an ashtray outdoors and not on the deck, driveway or garden!

Please make sure to shut off the propane, cover and wire brush BBQ after use.

Nothing but small amount of toilet paper down the toilets please.

Please do not use towels as rags, rags can be found by the laundry machines.

Please use sink strainers provided when doing dishes etc,.

All doors must be locked and lights off when leaving the house.

Please be conscious of California's water crisis when showering and doing dishes etc. Every gallon makes a difference and water here is really expensive!!

All doors and windows need to be closed when using the air or heating.

Wood Fireplace is not accessible.

We have electric candles and dimmer switches throughout the house so we request that you do not burn candles or incense for safety reasons. There is lots of ambient lighting throughout the house.

All wooden furniture should be protected from glass rings so please use coaster and place mats provided.

The house is recycle friendly, we have separate cans to make it easy. It is not necessary to throw out the blue plastic liner in the recycle bin as the recycling can be placed in the main bin without. Bins are located on the west side of the house beyond the laundry machines.

Please understand that your reservation may be cancelled and your security deposit and/or a portion there of may be withheld for damages if the house rules are not honored. With that said, I am pretty easy going, so unless it is a blatant disrespect of the house rules, I understand that accidents happen and basic wear and tear is inevitable. Any situations will be determined on a case by case basis so please let me know about any breakages, loss of dishes or towel, items etc so I can be certain to have these things fixed or replaced prior to the arrival of any other guests.

We are completely and totally delighted to be able to share our home with you and will look forward to doing what we can to making this your best vacation ever!!

About Chantal

I was raised in Los Angeles and grew up in Dog Town Santa Monica in the 80's. I have lived most of my life in Venice, Santa Monica and Echo Park areas of Los Angeles. I have lived on Catalina Island and in Palm springs and spent several years residing in Nice in the South of France. Our family speaks fluent french including our children. I have a boy and a girl, both preteen and we love to go on family adventures. In my spare time I like to spend time gathering with family and friends, bike ride, hike, read a good book in our beautiful garden, yoga and spend time at home. I am easy going and a people person and am delighted to be able to periodically open my home to people from all over.

Excellent Vacation

We truly enjoyed staying at the house. It had plenty of beds for us to sleep comfortably. The location was perfect for the things we wanted to do while we were there, very centrally located. Just unfortunate that this was the last time they were renting the house out would definitely consider staying here again.

Nice Home

I stayed here with 5 other friends (girls weekend away). We really enjoyed the home. The neighborhood is quiet and the backyard is very relaxing. I would stay here again. The only drawback was the lighting in the master bedroom was non existent and there was only one shower for 6 woman but we made it work. The positives of the home outweigh those two things though.

Comfortable stay in L.A.

We very much enjoyed our stay in L.A. The house was easy to find, directions were accurate and detailed, and the house was very comfortable and met all of our needs. Our daughter adored the bunk beds and the backyard area for exploring and running around. And we were fairly centrally located so we could easily access downtown LA and also Santa Monica/Malibu area. Walking distance to Vonn's grocery store and about 1 mile from a really adorable playground for afternoon entertainment. We made the shower situation work, where basically two bathrooms share a shower between them.

Perfect house for our ladies weekend in LA!

We rented Chantal’s house for a lovely ladies weekend in LA (4 people).

Chantal graciously waited for us for check in and gave the guided tour. The house met our needs well in terms of size, layout, etc. Particularly enjoyed the outdoor deck and backyard. Location is great and very close to Abbott-Kinney where we spent the better part of one day shopping and eating. Getting around via Uber and Lyft was easy. If we had stayed longer we probably would have rented bikes as well.

Would recommend the house for groups of 4 or a family with 2-3 kids.

Wonderful, modern and cozy home!

This home is fantastic! My husband and I got married in July and needed a place to get ready and spend our wedding night. We already live in Los Angeles but don't have nearly enough room in our house. This house was perfect for the occasion, so much better than getting a hotel room and dealing with valet parking. Our parents and close friends came by in the morning and had coffee, lounged on the deck, got their makeup done and got dressed there. It was just such a beautiful and relaxing place to be before our wedding. The home itself is just like the photos - modern and filled with light. The morning after the wedding we just sat outside on the deck looking at the big trees and green lawn and enjoyed coffee and breakfast before facing reality again. I highly recommend this home for anyone visiting or anyone local looking to have a staycation with a change of scenery! From the house it was a super quick drive to get to Santa Monica and an easy commute for us back to Culver City and Mid-City where our wedding was. Chantal was also fantastic to communicate with. She is quick to respond and answered all of our questions. Thank you so much for letting us spend our special day in your wonderful home!

Beautiful get-a-way home in the heart of LA

Our 4-day stay was simply amazing! The house was everything I could have asked for and more. It is located in a very quiet and safe neighborhood of L.A., short drives to Marina del Rey, Santa Monica, Venice Beach. It has a beautiful backyard with a nice deck to lounge on or gather with friends. Did I mention the beach is only a 7-minute drive away? This was something my party and me took advantage of.

Unfortunately, for this visit, I was travelling to Los Angeles under difficult circumstances. My mother had passed away, and most of the family was under a lot of stress. The house owner Chantal was a real sweetheart. She made herself available if anything was needed.

The next time I travel to Los Angeles from Colorado for an extended stay, I will definitely look into renting this home again. Thank you!

This is the west sides hottest up and coming neighborhood!! We are three blocks from all the new restaurants on Washington just west of Centinela and three blocks from Venice Blvd where you will find great restaurants, coffee shops, eclectic boutiques and a wonderful Sunday Farmers Market. The house is located 5 minutes to Venice (10 minute Bike Ride), 15 Minutes to Santa Monica, 5 Minutes to Marina Del Rey, 10 Minutes to Culver City and easy access to all beach cities, Hollywood etc. LAX is a 15 minute drive.

There is a bowling alley, Cinemas and shopping 5 minutes away.

Mar Vista is centrally locate and if you don't have a car the buses are three blocks away taking you to Venice, Santa Monica and beyond. Take the 33 to Culver City where you can catch the metro into downtown Los Angeles and once there you can also connect to other locations. Lyft and Uber are also a great car service option and is quite popular in Los Angeles. The beach is a short bike ride, long walk or a direct bus ride down Venice Blvd.
