BEAUTIFUL BEACH HOUSE WITH ACCOMMODATIONS FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY

........Contact Us Today To See If Your Week Is Available ...Thanks For Considering Driftwood Where Memories Are Made To Last A Lifetime!!!

LIFE Magazine states that Gloucester is one of the top 10 most under rated BEACH towns in America... they call it ''The hidden GEM!!!!'' Driftwood's Beach house is nestled between Historical Rocky Neck Art Colony and Eastern Point Lighthouse.... within walking distance to North Shore Art Association, Gloucester Stage Company (live theatre), and outdoor dining with nightly entertainment on Rocky Neck...bike or stroll to the scenic Backshore or spend the day at Niles Beach which is within 100 steps to Driftwood (a favorite sight for scuba diving) and has lifeguard on duty 7 days a week from 9:00AM-5:00PM..no need to pay for parking when the car is in the driveway. Niles Beach looks directly out to Gloucester Harbor...

Whether you want a relaxing day on the beach reading your favorite book, swimming in the ocean, taking your kayak for a tour of Gloucester Harbor or watching the assortment of boaters (sailboats, fishing fleet, windsurfers and even kite surfers) Niles Beach has something for everyone. .................................................................................... It's the number one beach for ''young'' swimmers with very little surf. Cape Ann is full of fun things to do: Kayak up the Annisquam River, sail aboard the Thomas E. Lannon, a 65ft. schooner for a harbor cruise, or walk down Eastern Point Boulevard and tour Beauport, The Sleeper McCann House, a property of Historic New England. While in Gloucester, America's oldest seaport, take a ride along Stacey Boulevard to ''The Fishermen's Statue also known as ''The Man At The Wheel'' or picnic at Stage Fort Park.

Spend the day aboard one of Gloucester's Whale Watch boats and travel to Stellwagen Bank to view the ''gentle giants of the ocean'', deep sea fish for haddock and cod or sport fish for tuna. Good Harbor Beach (one of many local beaches, voted 2nd best in the Northeast) is just a 5 minute drive from Driftwood. Be prepared to pay for parking. Visit Hammond's Castle, tours daily. If biking is your thing, Driftwood is it. This home is on the scenic route called ''Around the Cape.'' Your 20 mile biking trip will take you through Gloucester and Rockport where the scenery is endless.

Take a day trip to Rockport, just a 7-10 minute drive away...Visit picturesque Motif #1 (artists come from all over the world to paint it) or shop on Bearskin Neck known for it's many unique shops, boutiques, and restaurants. Travel Rt. 133 to Essex and spend the day in search of your favorite antique, just a 10 minute drive.

Driftwood has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 8 comfortably with beautiful wood flooring throughout. There is one bedroom on the 1st floor level making it easier for those who have difficulty with stairs, a large family room with two dining tables so everyone can enjoy your favorite meal together. If outdoor dining is your choice, there is a deck with views of the beach. We also provide a gas grill, as well as a Webber grill, for your convenience. Driftwood also has a stainless steel fully-applianced kitchen with washer, dryer and dishwasher, living room with views of the beach and Gloucester Harbor, 1/2 bath on 1st level, 3 more bedrooms on the 2nd floor with walk-in tile shower bathroom and yard for relaxing after a fun-filled day. We provide all that one would need for an enjoyable vacation, even the ''outdoor'' rinsing shower....All linens included, as well as beach accessories, such as coolers, chairs, umbrellas and beach toys...

Perfect cottage for family of 4

  • 5 of 5

Our family visited Gloucester for the first time and stayed in this lovely cottage. It was a great location, just up the road from the beautiful beach. Our boys (11 & 12 yrs old) loved digging for hermit crabs (using the buckets and shovels provided at the cottage) and wading in the cool water- they could just walk there from the house. Mary Ann was just lovely and so personable and helpful with directions, what to do, check-in, and any questions! She had great recommendations for whale watching (Cape Ann), shopping and scenic drives and walks. The loft was perfect for the boys. They had their own tv and space to relax. The stairs up to the loft would be challenging for young children or older folks. The kitchen was well stocked, clean and spacious and having the washer/dryer was a plus! The main floor bedroom had plenty of closet and drawer space, extra blankets, and privacy. The cottage is attached to the larger house, which was vacant during our stay. It may have been a little "too close" if we had to share parking and outside space w/ people we didn't know. It would be perfect for 2 families or groups traveling together to rent both cottage and house, since they are attached. Wi-Fi was not always working or a strong signal, but they quickly came out to correct it. Would definitely recommend this rental and working with MaryAnn and Steve. Very friendly and helpful and proud of their lovely town of Gloucester.

Lovely home. great location.

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely home in a lovely location. Comfortable beds, well stocked kitchens, everything one could want. Cottage was perfect for my granddaughter and her family. Everyone could be together, but also apart when needed. Beach was perfect for the little kids...no big waves, sandy and just steps away. Very nice neighborhood.

Summer, 2011 rental

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic home, location and amenities! We had a young family in the attached unit, and six in the main home itself. We walked to the beach every day, and ate out on the large deck for almost every meal. Plenty of room inside for a family of ten to visit and play games. Mary Ann, the owner, was extremely helpful thru-out the entire process. Hopefully, we can return for another family reunion soon.
