First let me say we had a good time and the cottage was as cute and clean as shown in the photos. I would return again, because it is so private. We got locked out of the cabin twice and luckily the people in the workshop behind our cabin were there to help. The cabin was very small but just right for the two of us since we used the second bedroom for our luggage. No way would even a couple with two kids or six adults could fit in there without tripping over everyone's stuff. No closets, no real dresser drawers and no room for them either. No air conditioning and it was 90 and humid. The washer/dryer is a great amenity, even though it was a tight squeeze at the foot of the bed. The cottage location was good and convenient to everything we wanted to do. St Germain Flea Market on Mondays, Three Lakes Winery, Kayaking out of Eagle River, cooking on the grill, Eagle River T Shirt/Souvenir shops only 20 miles away for the rainy day. Being on the lake with our own boat and boat dock was great. We had privacy because no one was in the cottage that sits right in front of the one we rented. We didn't know from the photos it was so close. If others had been there, our vacation might have been much less peaceful and I wouldn't have liked it very much since we came to get away from people. The lake is very shallow (10-15 ft in most places) weedy and is pretty much fished-out according to locals. We only caught tiny little bluegills and perch which we threw back. It was disappointing that we had such bad luck, but the people we talked to said all the lakes around there are pretty much the same story. So we had lots of other things to do and didn't let that dampen our vacation. Just a caution to others who might be expecting to catch something other than weeds. Lac Vieux Desert was once a top musky lake, jumbo perch and big panfish 25 years ago. Resorts and supper clubs are going out of business and even many bait shops are closed. We did visit Bond Falls and highly recommend the journey to the top. Easy to moderate climb but worth the view even from the bottom. The kitchen is well furnished, and the cabin nicely decorated and kept up. There is a breakfast in the park on Tuesdays which is sponsored by the Sunrise Resort. They have a very good set up there, and a good breakfast at reasonable prices.
We really enjoyed our stay. The weather could have been a bit more cooperative but had three beautiful days!! The cottage was very nicely decorated, lots of interesting touches. Also, well furnished for meal prep and cooking. We used the grills and inside appliances. Having the washer and dryer (especially the dryer) was huge. Thank you. The neighbors were so nice and accommodating as well. Met a bunch of people at the park that were great to chat with, so friendly. Rented a boat from 'Dave Rents Boats' so helpful and we would recommend calling him!! We spent a good deal of time on the lake and it was gorgeous. Lots of eagles and loons. I do have to say, that six adults would be a tight fit. Other than that had a great time. Thank you Justyna. P.S. Our dog loved the lake and the walks.
Cabin was cozy, clean and perfect for a week long getaway for a couple and their dog. The property was well maintained, our dog enjoyed morning walks down the driveway and down to the pier. We were able to fish, boat and enjoy the north woods. Great up-north experience.
We had a very nice time staying at your cottage! Very clean, cozy and well stocked with everything we could have possbily needed! We brought our bikes along and took in the great trails in the area. Thanks for letting us bring our dog - she had a great time too! :-)
we had a wonderful vacation ! The cabin is so homey and comfortable. Beautiful views of sun sets & many eagles ! We rented a pontoon boat from the Minnow Bucket this year which made the lake more accessable and made our time there even better ! Our only suggestion is to have a rake available for renters to be able to clear weeds away from the dock area for swimming. It would be impossible for you to keep this up regularily but easy for guests to do when they arrive and have clear sand all week.
We had a really nice stay at your cabin. Loved the decor. It was decorated to fit the North Woods. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. Kitchen had everything you would want or need. It would have been nice to have a closet, but we did fine without one. Lots of places to hang things, and drawers to put clothes in. Beautiful view of the lake through the picture window.
