We had a lovely, relaxed 4 days in the lap of luxury. Sweet Georgia Terrace is clean, modern, spacious and thoughtfully equipped to meet all the needs of guests. The appliances are new and good quality, making it a pleasure to cook or BBQ. The deck affords many opportunities to relax, suntan, soak in the view, or dine al fresco. The King bed is super comfortable, and all the linens are luxurious and new. The bathroom is stocked with fluffy towels, big mirrors, and mood lighting for the "candle light" bathers among us. There is ample closet space for longer stays, and the modern electronics make for easy viewing of movies and listening to music. The place is equipped with Wifi. The hosts are welcoming and helpful, but allow privacy. Shops are nearby, yet there is a sense of tranquility and "being away from it all". The property comes with parking, and there are many beautiful walks (including beaches) which can be reached on foot. The nearby Swallow's Nest http://www.theswallowsnest.ca is sure to delight the most discerning shopper or afford the perfect gift for that "hard to buy for" person in your life. All in all, we loved our stay and will return….And pass the link on to our friends and family. Thanks, Suzanne and Ted
This is, without a doubt, the most comfortable and well thought out suite that we have ever stayed in (and we've stayed in a few across this incredible country). Ted and Suzanne are lovely, accommodating hosts who thoughtfully consider all your needs while staying at Sweet Georgia Terrace. We cannot recommend this beautiful suite highly enough. Thanks Ted and Suzanne, it was a pleasure getting to know you both.
We had such a relaxing and enjoyable experience the first time at SGT we had to come back! This review is an additional review to supplement our original review which can be seen below.
1) Getting to SGT is only a quick ferry ride over from Vancouver, making it an accessible and perfect getaway on the Sunshine Coast.
2) The beach located five minutes down from SGT is a beautiful spot for admiring the beautiful sunsets. We ventured down there each evening and loved it!
3) Suzanne and Ted are very sweet and attentive hosts who somehow made this visit even more enjoyable than our first. As mentioned in the first review, they ensure that SGT is fully equipped and remains up-to-date on the technology front - Geeky Graham was especially impressed!
4) SGT is very well-located. It is removed from any road traffic and noise but is just a short drive for groceries and stores. We ventured up to Halfmoon Bay for a day appreciated its close proximity to SGT.
5) Lastly, the home itself is as immaculate and beautiful as it was the first time.
Thanks to Ted and Suzanne for having us and we will be back!
Jay and I had the most wonderful time during our stay! Thank you Ted and Suzanne for having us.
The beauty of the house and the surroundings can't be captured in the pictures. Every inch of the suite is beautiful and spotless, bright and welcoming with exceptional views. Everything I had forgotten to bring was there for us, and more. The outside space is beautifully terraced, gorgeous view of the ocean, and super private - except for the lovely mum and baby deer that were hanging out in the lower yard on our last day. The furnishings inside and out were very comfortable and stylish. The kitchen was well equipped and fun to cook in. There were movies on the PVR for us to watch, and a great seletion of games to play. Ted and Suzanne were right upstairs if we needed anything, but gave us all the privacy we wanted and we forgot they were even there, except when they were gracious enough to provide us some beautful treats from their vegetable garden, or give us some advice on things to check out in the area.
We couldn't have asked for a better more relaxing and beautiful way to de-stress, spend some lovely quiet time together in nature and really get away from it all. We hope to come back soon!
This suite is even better than it looks in the photos! It has an open concept with huge windows that let in a ton of light and the view is incredible. The modern kitchen is amazing to cook in with your S.O. and you can enjoy your meal outside while watching the sun set. The bed is the most comfortable bed that I've slept in during a vacation, it almost makes you never want to get up! There is a pebbly beach about a minutes drive from the suite that gives you the most amazing view of the sunset and there are sandy beaches about a 15 minutes drive away. Suzanne & Ted really thought of all the details to make the suite perfect (attaching bottle openers to the coolers, supplying board games to bring to the beach, and a backpack with picnic utensils/containers).... All in all I would highly recommend the Sweet Georgia Terrace for a weekend trip to Gibsons.... maybe we will stay a whole week next time! Thanks Suzanne and Ted for providing us everything we needed for an amazing weekend :)
Superb views and great accommodation. Very clean, modern and neat suite with good comfortable bed. Perfect for a couple.
First, Ted and Suzanne greeted us as we pulled into to our parking area. They had no clue as to our arrival simply because, of course, times are dictated by the Ferry and we had no cell phone service to call them in advance. Low and behold, however, they were there when we arrived offering to help with luggage, etc., followed by them leading us to our beautiful unit.
Second, I'm in the lodging business myself and ironically, I manage about 25 private vacation homes in the states. I think I'm pretty good at what I do. Hoiwever, I'd have to give myself a C+ if Sweet Georgia was used as the benchmark for my properties. The level of detail within this unit was impressive. The kitchen was well stocked (right down to the martini shaker). We even found a fully stocked picnic basket that was in a convenient travel backpack style including beach towels (including so much more). And the the outside patio overlooking Georgia Strait; awesome. You won't be dissapointed.
The town of Gibsons, population of about 4,000, was named by the International Awards for Liveable Communities as the best place in the world to live among communities with fewer than 20,000 residents in 2009.
Gibsons also won an international contest that voted the town's drinking water to be the best in the world. In 2005, Gibsons was chosen as gold medal winner of the Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting contest.
Local attractions include: art galleries, farmer's markets, music festivals and geocaching.
