We enjoyed our mini vacation of 5 days very much.
The furnishings are fine and plenty of space for a family, although there was only two of us.
The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable, we didn't try the others...no need to make more laundry.
The "cargo" elevator is a BLESSING when coming and going to transport luggage etc and no need to lug it all up and down the stairs in the Gulfcoast heat.
Some FYI's, which did not hinder our visit, but may be a concern to others:
BRING DISPOSABLE PLATES, CUPS, FLATWARE. (Nearest "grocery " store is 15 miles) Dishwasher is still not working, there was an out of order memo note on it. No issue for just two of us, but if there are more people, no one wants to spend their time doing dishes.
The home is well used as in the doors and woodwork are "dinged and banged" up. There was a hole in one where a door was opened into a closet door behind it.
Note that in the photos there is a table on the deck that seats 6 with an umbrella, non-existent. There is a molded plastic table with one chair to use, the other chair is cracked and broken, so, no meals on the deck, if you that is what you were planning.
There are four beautiful lounge chairs on the deck, perfect for viewing the constellations in the night sky.
Great value for money.
The house was very near and clean. About a block from the beach. It comes WiFi.dish, and a Wii which is not in The description. The only. Negative was the diswasher was broken. Would rent again !
House was very clean when entering ...the bedrooms were nice the beds are kind of hard but serve the purpose and we did sleep well.... there was already dishes and paper products which was very helpful... the only thing that needs to be upgraded would be the gas grill we was going to use it but it was very dirty and falling apart but besides that everything else was great the beaches are a short walk down the street and we enjoyed every day there...
We just left the house 1 day ago, it was the perfect get away, it had everything we needed and the beach was only a few steps away.the house was clean and we'll maintained. We had ole 4th of pots and pans and dishes to cook the meals we wanted, plenty of ice and refridge space. My 28 year old kids and their spouses enjoyed just relaxing.
The only critisim, I would have and it was minor is there are no hooks for clothes or towel bars in the second bathroom., but that did not stop the enjoyment. We would defiantly rent it again.
We loved this house and were blown away by the great value. The house is very roomy and only 1 block from the beach where we swam every day. The island bike trail is right out front to jump on so take advantage! My only complaints are that the lock is very difficult to turn in the door. I'm sure this is due to salty air conditions in the area. Also we never could get the lights in the living room ceiling fans to come on, even with following instructions. Finally the dishwasher was broken and only a dime size amount of dish soap was provided so we bought some and left it for the next tenant. These things though were minor to the enjoyment we got, even with some rainy weather. We hope to be back soon.
It was our first time on the island and we loved it. The beach was great (75 degrees in February). The attitude on the island was quiet and laid back. Some of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. The owner was very pleasant and helpful, to the extent of mailing me my lost phone. The only minor glitch was that the dishwasher didn't work. They hadn't had a problem with it before and were having the electrician come the next day.
