Christopher Dunigan purchased this house in 2013
This historic house is right next door to our 1820 mill building and we were delighted to acquire it and bring it back to it's former glory
In addition to the huge screened in outdoor living room / dining room this house is part of the Church St. mineral spring. We've included an outdoor mineral spring soaking pool that is dog friendly for fun after hiking frolics.
Our extended family stayed at this house for a long ski weekend. The house was very comfortable and provided plenty of room for 7, and our dog. Everyone really enjoyed the game room for pool, air hockey and TV. The proximity to Okemo was ideal. The owner was very helpful, responsive and accommodating. We will definitely consider a return trip in the future.
Spent a few days on and around Thanksgiving here and had a great time. The home is a beautiful antique home with modern amenities and styling. Christopher was so helpful before and during the stay. So much attention to detail and all the things a guest would need to have a great experience. Great outdoor space with fire pit and seating; great rec room in back the teenagers claimed, to hangout and play air hockey, pool, and video games (brought their own PS4 and hooked to TV). Very nice kitchen area with a large table for our Thanksgiving dinner. Rutland 6 miles north and Manchester 19 miles south. Beautiful valley at the base of the Green Mountain range. If you want to experience Vermont, you can't go wrong here. Would go back!
The house is kept very clean. It is right in the small town of Wallingford so you can walk to the local restaurants. Christopher works in the store next to the house and he was available for any questions, recommendations, etc. It is a very dog friendly house with a large screened in porch for lounging or a well set up back patio area for sitting around a fire, dining, relaxing. The pictures and description are true to form and has a very open feel. We will definitely rent this house again.
We had a wonderful week in this beautiful and very comfortable house. Christopher, the host, lived next door and was very personable and very knowledgeable about some of the local sights and places to visit. We spent the week at the. Vermont Summer Festival as well as swimming in Elfin lake and hiking.
The house was plenty big enough, had a beautiful back yard for relaxing around the fire and lots of space for relaxing in general.
We have two children and a dog and everyone loved their stay.
Will definitely be returning! Thank you Christopher for your wonderful hospitality!
We enjoyed our stay at Christopher's home. He was quick to respond to emails/questions. He was a great host we were surprised by fresh eggs and muffins when we arrived. The house was perfect for 2 adults, 2 kids and 1 dog. The kids loved the soaking pool and the pool table. Our dog loved the fenced in yard, even though he was allowed in the soaking pool, he didn't not venture in. There was tons of firewood for the fire pit. The kitchen had plenty of supplies/cooking utensils for us to use to have several meals at the house. Our dog wasn't a huge fan of being locked in the basement, but it was great having the dog kennel at the house so we didn't have to bring a crate for our dog (make sure you bring a dog bed for the kennel) . We tried a few of the places Christopher recommended in town to eat at which were all an easy walk. Sals for pizza, Mom's Country Kitchen for breakfast and the Wallingford Inn Pub for dinner. Just outside the gate was a huge side yard that my son and husband used to play catch. Christopher's house had plenty of towels to use for the pool and lake. Loved the huge screened in porch we eat our meals, watched TV and played pool. This was our first time renting through Homeaway.com and Christopher made our first experience a very happy one.
We stayed at Christopher's home for an extended trip while our daughter was riding in the Vermont Summer Festival. The house is clean and fresh and easy to manage. Moreover Christopher left kind extras such as makings for s'mores and wood all ready to light in the fire pit. His linen closet was pristine and simple to understand (you have to see it to appreciate it). He was gracious and available throughout even letting us know about weather predictions. The home is on a Main Street making it easy to find. His website gives wonderful suggestions about local finds. The perfect home and host!
