A gem in Wallingford, VT

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in Wallingford! The outdoor spaces this home offer really make it unique. The amount of space to spread out and relax is incredible. The rec room is awesome! The s'mores by the fire and fresh farm eggs were much appreciated!

We will definitely be back!

Perfect for our family

  • 5 of 5

I chose this house for the screened in porch and it was a great choice. We LIVED out there - ate nearly every meal, napped, read, played and relaxed. It was our favorite part of the house. There's also a really nice courtyard with a fire pit and small dipping pool that was lovely. The large backyard behind the house also made for a great place for our dogs and one year old to play. The house itself is nice. It's an old Vermont house that's been tastefully redone and although it's not perfectly clean (there are a few cob webs here and there) it's well kept and the minor imperfections are easily overlooked. It's got a lot of charm and we loved the layout. Plus it's on the main drag in Wallingford which makes it convenient to walk to a restaurant (or two), the library (on a rainy day, our son LOVED the kids section) and a convenience store. Nearby (as in a 5 minute drive) there's fly fishing, lots of walking trails, a small lake and a playground. Chris, the owner, lives next door and owns Made In Vermont, a beautiful store filled with lighting from Hubberton Forge but also includes other Vermont-made products like handmade soaps and candles, furniture and jewelry. He was a great resource and host - he welcomed us with a huge stack of organic pumpkin rhubarb muffins. We stayed a week and wished we had stayed two.

Owner's Response: Thanks Erin for the nice review After searching for a while did find a couple cobwebs high up and happy to report they are now gone. We strive to make sure all of our houses are spotless even to the extent that our cleaners spend twice the amount of time cleaning the houses top to bottom. All hard surfaces are cleaned and sanitized with bleach cleaners and you’ll noticed we’ve designed all the sofas, chairs, and pillows ourselves with removable covers that are replaced with fresh covers after every renters visit. We’re obsessed with cleanliness. Thanks again and we hope to see you in the future.

The Wedding Weekend House

  • 5 of 5

We used Christopher's house in Wallingford as our "Wedding House" for a weekend. My daughter married the love of her life at the Wallingford Lodge and this house was perfect for the bride and groom, family, and friends to get ready for the wedding as well as an escape from the craziness of wedding setup. The house is conveniently located to restaurants and shops in Wallingford. The house is beautifully decorated, updated, meticulously clean with lots of room for relaxing with friends, playing pool, dipping your toes in the spring fed pool, cooking meals, you name it! Some of the groom's family also rented a house from Christopher and it was great to open the back gate to visit back and forth. The screened in porch provided extra living space and kept out the pesky Vermont bugs. The dog kennel in the basement was a hugh plus and Cedar June stayed cool and safe while we were out of the house. The only improvement I can think of is to have some grass within the fenced in area for the dog. Christopher was communicative and very flexible with our needs. I whole heartedly recommend this house to anyone spending some time in the area.

We absolutely loved it!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in Wallington was wonderful! The house is conveniently located near shops and is just a 25 minute drive from Okemo Mountain. The house is clean, organized, and spacious. There were 8 of us, (all adults,) who fit very comfortably with room to spare. We enjoyed playing pool and air hockey in the game room. We also enjoyed sitting outside by the fire. The house had all necessary amenities for cooking. The bedrooms had clean and comfortable bedding and the bathrooms were stocked with wash clothes, hand towels, and bath towels. Christopher was extremely accommodating and always available when needed. I can not say enough good things about our stay here! We will surely return!
