Overview

Front Range Colorado Cottage Rental Photos and Description

One Bedroom, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-8) on Boulder Creek (Ask about the 2nd bedroom!)

Our Canyon Retreat on Boulder Creek is located at the western edge of Boulder, 5 minutes from Pearl Street Mall surrounded by Open Space. The Studio has its own private entrance through an arbor from the ample parking area. And it's just 30 minutes from Eldora Mountain Ski Resort!

The first floor has a small kitchen, bathroom with shower, dining area and living room. There are two pull-out sofa beds for 2-4 extra guests. The entertainment center has a Blueray DVD player, ROKU for access to Netflix, Angry Birds, Amazon for movies, TV series, as well as Pandora for your choice in music. There is also high-speed wireless internet access for your laptops. French doors open on to your large private deck overlooking the creek, with tables, chairs and a gas barbecue.

On the second floor a wall of glass affords a fabulous view of the creek and canyon walls. There is a queen bed and also a futon -- perfect for children who might not want to stay down stairs. There is also a second bathroom with shower and a large closet.

We have added an optional second 'attic' bedroom, with 3 skylights, adjacent to the upstairs bedroom. It is optional and is renting for an additional $75-100 a night depending on the season. It has a queen bed and a sectional. Sleeps 2 - 4. Please arrange this additional rental through the owner. Or if you use 'Book It Now,' send your reservation through with one bedroom and we will upgrade it to 2 and send back to you for payment.

The large deck is fenced and gated for your dogs. There is a mulched 'potty place' and water bowls just for them. For more exercise, they can play in the one acre fenced 'front' yard or you can take them for a Bike Path walk or hike the trails.

The Boulder Bike Path just beyond your front door offers miles of trails for biking and running (3 bikes, helmets and locks are available for your use), Settlers' Park, Flagstaff Mountain and Chautauqua trailheads are all near, and Boulder Canyon Drive leads to the Indian Peaks Wilderness, Eldora Mountain Ski Resort and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Or -- just relax on the deck with a glass of wine and watch the creek flow by -- with an occasional kayak in Spring. If you are a winter visitor, it is a bit like being in an ice castle, with the creek running between small ice cliffs. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing opportunities are close by, and we are only about 19 miles from Eldora Mountain -- home of the CU National Championship ski team.

We look forward to sharing this truly unique setting with you!

Keywords: Two-story artist's retreat with breathtaking views, right on Boulder Creek yet just steps from the Bike Path. Less than a mile to Pearl Street's restaurants and shops, you'll feel invitingly secluded, surrounded by water and Boulder Canyon's pine-covered mountains. And just 30 minutes to Eldora Ski Resort!

About Dorothy Tucker

Our family of 6 began in Pasadena CA but careers in marketing and arts management took us to Old Greenwich CT and NYC. For college, two of our children, Craig and Katie chose CU. We all fell in love with Boulder! While visiting them one weekend, Charlie and I took our dogs for a walk up the Bike Path and paused on the old creek bridge. There we saw an old house on a pond, surrounded by water and, lo and behold, a 'for sale' sign! And, of course we bought it right then and there! Architectural design had been an avocation of ours for many years, so as soon as possible, NYC was in our rear view mirror and Tucker Design Associates, as well as Tucker Walker Group Real Estate were born in Boulder! Our children are grown now and have families of their own, so we don't need the Studio space year around and are very happy to share it with you!

Dorothy Tucker purchased this cottage in 1990

Why Dorothy Tucker chose Front Range Colorado

The property feels remote, far from civilization - surrounded by water, pines, cottonwoods and ever-changing patterns of light on the canyon walls, yet it is five minutes from shopping, world class restaurants, the CU campus, Chautauqua concerts in the summer and skiing Eldora in the Winter!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for working with us! Your studio is even better than we thought. The pictures online didn't do it justice :) if we are in Boudler again we will definitely consider another shoot there or staying the night. You may have an untapped market for photographers like us. The lighting and modern decor is beautiful. I wish we could have shot in every room! We'll send some pics soon. Your studio is be perfect for families, bridal boudoir, babies, and outdoors. Thank you again!

Great escape!

  • 5 of 5

A group of 6 (including me) stayed in the studio along with the added attic bedroom last week and had a blast in Boulder. I loved the fact that we had our privacy! The bikes that Dorothy provided were a great to have. We rode them down to pearl street and went shopping around town. The best part of this private studio is the beautiful scenery when looking out over the deck. The beds were very comfortable, I slept wonderfully, and the added skylights were great. I spent every morning enjoying a cup coffee sitting on the deck. Thanks for everything Dorothy!! I would definitely recommend this place!

Perfect/clean/comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

This stay was perfect. So close to town yet quiet and private. We were able to rent the entire studio for our stay which slept all 7 of us very well. The beds were comfortable. The sofa beds were ok but sofa beds typically aren't the best. The owner, Dorothy met us as we drove up and was very helpful orienting us to the property. The home was organized and we had everything we needed. We decided it would be a great place to stay in the summer for a long weekend to enjoy the outside space. The bike path is close, it would be a great ride into town but a little uphill for the ride back. Uber took us back to the home and it was less than 5 minutes from Pearl Street.

Lovely stay!

Beautiful surroundings!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our time at the Artist's Retreat. It's a beautiful location and the pictures don't do it justice. The efficient design of the studio makes great use of the space and the Tuckers have an eye for details: lots of linens, towels, coffee and tea, bathroom robes...et cetera. The outdoor deck was a great place to relax with friends or drink your coffee in the morning.

We would definitely consider staying here again. Special thanks to Katie who helped us get settled.

Absolutely stunning studio hideout!

  • 5 of 5

Dorothy was very accommodating and willing to do whatever we needed, but she also gave us our space. It was a perfect getaway weekend for a relaxed bachelorette party and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect location. It is located just the right distance up the canyon to get gorgeous views but super close to Pearl Street as well. Highly recommend!!

Cozy, convenient, and cool

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay here. As it turned out, it was just the four of us. However, we had the capacity to offer a place for others to sleep if they needed it (family wedding in Boulder).

Dorothy proved to be very accommodating, even adjusting our arrival and departure dates when our schedule was changed. She provided very precise driving directions, which was helpful because the various maps programs weren't consistently sure how to get there.

Don't worry about buyer's remorse. The property is exactly as advertised. We arrived to find it clean, cozy, and ready for our stay. The Keurig coffee pods and creamers in the fridge are a really nice touch.

We opted to rent the second 'attic' and we're glad we did. Not only did it provide more privacy, but waking up in the middle of the night to see the big dipper through the skylight was just really special. Even had the good fortune to be there during a meteor shower!

We anticipate visiting Boulder again in 2016, and if it's available, the Artist's Retreat on Boulder Creek will be our first choice of accommodations.

Quintessential Christmas Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We loved Loved LOVED this place!!! We arrived here with 3 of our kids from Destin, FL to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with my brother and his family. The weather was incredible. We slept to the sound of the river and while I expected to sleep in each morning, the view outside when I opened my eyes kept me from wanting to close them again. The kids watched the snow fall on the roof skylight windows in their room.

The hiking trail was right there and leads to a playground a ways off. Owners are incredibly kind and really took care of everything... they even shoveled the walk Thanksgiving morning from the snow!!! Seriously, we will stay there every time we visit.

A few notes: I have serious allergies to cats, dogs and dust. I had NO problems here. There is a strong moth ball smell, but from what I understand, there is a moth problem in this area??? I guess it works, because there were no moths. Also, prepare NOT to have a washer or dryer. For some reason, this caught me off-guard and my underpacker of a teenage daughter wore dirty clothes often.

I just wish I could post some of the pics I took of this area!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much! Especially for alerting us to the "moth ball" smell. We will take care of it pronto!
