|Minimum Stay||1 - 4 nights|
Four lots from a quiet beach on the Atlantic Ocean, on a private road bordered by Washington Oaks State Park, is where you can relax and enjoy an entire home away from home. Our 3-bedroom, 2-bath (plus outdoor shower) beach house is yours to enjoy!
There are four airports within commutable distance. Ranking in order of proximity: Daytona Beach Airport is 40 minutes away, followed by Jacksonville (1:20), Orlando Sanford International and Orlando International (1:40).
The home is on the northern edge of Palm Coast in an area known as the Hammock. The area is very quiet, as we are at the end of a private gravel road, perhaps 100 yards from the ocean. Being bordered by a state park across the road, preserves the peace. The lot to the east of the house is undeveloped, so you will enjoy a lot of privacy.
As one travels north, about ten minutes away is the Marineland and an option to swim with dolphins. An additional twenty minutes will bring one to St. Augustine, the oldest town in the US. For history enthusiasts, St. Augustine gives you plenty to explore as you learn about the struggles between the French, Spanish, and English to settle this new land.
Traveling south, along A1A, one crosses through Flagler Beach, Ormond Beach, Daytona, and New Smyrna, among others. An hour southwest of our home is Blue Springs State Park which offers prime viewing of manatees during the winter.
I am just getting to know the area, but have enjoyed fine dining, great BBQ, amazing fish tacos, and live music at some of the restaurants.
When I told people I was going to redecorate the home, I was advised that renters will destroy it and I shouldn't waste my money. I don't think that's true. I don't want to take a vacation sleeping on scratchy sheets and sitting on old sofas. When you work hard, you deserve to enjoy your vacation, surrounded by pleasant things. I want a home that I am proud to show my friends, and that is ready to host neighbors for dinner.
It's time to unwind, ride a bike, take a walk, or splash in the ocean.
We invite you to be our guest.
--Erin & Holger
We are newlyweds! My husband is German and I am from Kansas City. My husband works in China, I split my time between there and Florida, escaping to the fresh air and calm that surrounds me in the Hammock.
Erin Sprute purchased this house in 2015
We bought the home in May of 2015. Five streets over is a couple I lived with during grad school, although they lived in Pittsburgh at the time. Every time I visited them in Florida, there was a sense of calm that came over me and my batteries were instantly recharged. I wanted to be able to share that same feeling with my family, so we decided to buy the house and make this our US home.
We are the fourth lot off the ocean & across the street from a state park, with a beach that is practically your own private escape. Being one of four children, I watched as my parents tried to stretch a dollar and still give us memories to enjoy. We have kept the rates very affordable for that same reason. No decent hotel can house eight people in beds for the price we are offering.
The home was just that a home. My family felt comfortable and we really enjoyed everything. The pictures don't do the home justice, It looks great! Very clean and has a supply of things you may have forgot to pack. Like your toothbrush, soap, or a shower cap. The home had things that made our stay interesting. Great location!
The Bradley & Flournoy Family
We have stayed in this house 4 times now. The new owner has made some nice upgrades. Such a comfortable home away from home. The short walk to the beach is worth the practically private beach, even in July. The house has everything you need. Our family cant wait to come back! =)
We had a wonderful time. Erins home was perfect and all it was advertised to be and more. All you need is your clothes and food, everything else is supplied. We are already trying to put a date together for next year and pray it's available. Lots of room and close to the beach. The Hanner Family
We really loved the beach house and especially the short distance to the tranquil beach. The first thing we did when we arrived was to walk the short distance to the beach. Very pleased how quiet and clean beach was.
The listing description and pictures were spot on and house was very clean with well stocked kitchen items to use. There's also a nice Publix grocery store just minutes down A1A.
The owner was always quick to get back to you with any questions/concerns we had.
The house is such a great location for taking days trips too. We made it to Flagler beach, Daytona (too much traffic and touristy stuff for us) and St. Augustine (such a neat place with so much history).
Owner gave us several recommendations on places to eat. We ate at several local restaurants, all good food. If you are a BBQ fan, check out Captains BBQ, a must to eat there. It's a short drive from the house and located in a park setting on the inter coastal with great views from the screened in outdoor eating area. Ribs were the best we've eaten and we live in a BBQ city.
Would definitely return back to "A Haven in the Hammock"
Very clean and private beach house just a short walk to the beach. Would highly recommend it! The owner is very quick to respond if you have any questions or concerns.
