Views of the stunning Hoopers Bay ( Turtle Bay) from the entire house. Large deck for entertaining. Open plan living space with 15 foot cathedral ceiling tastefully furnished with Asian furniture and artifacts. Large bedrooms with en suite marble finished bathrooms. Minutes walking distance from beach access. Quite neighborhood off the main road. Got to be seen to be believed. Sleeps 4 adults.
My wife and I live in Nassau and travel down to our beautiful house on a regular basis. Turtle Bay is our pride and joy and we are always looking at ways to improve our already stunning property. Please checkout our reviews and contact us by email if you require any additional information.
Robert Stitch purchased this house in 2013
We have built this house to maximize the beautiful view over Hooper's Bay. We have built to the very highest specification and furnished with high end Asian furniture and artifacts.
The house was very good, very clean, all the spaces ( kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms) where big, and luxury, it has a beautiful view to the beach.
Super recomended !
This is a lovely house to stay. Everything was spotlessly clean and it is a very spacious property. The living and kitchen areas are exactly the same as the photos on here, however the bedrooms are more spacous than they look on the photos, especially the master bedroom, I don't think the photos on here show how nice the bedrooms are. Both bedrooms have a lovely bathroom. The outside patio area is really cosy and is just like the photos. There is a large canopy out the back and I emailed the owners to ask how it worked., but they said they were waiting for a part to fix it as it was broken. The same day they very kindly had a lovely patio umberella delivered. They want to make sure you have a nice time. Everything in the house including the outside furniture was of good quality and looked new.
This is a truly beautiful house and I would stay here again.
We were looking for hotels to stay at, but nothing really convinced us. We contacted Robert, owner of this home, and from the start, he was very accommodating. We booked. When we arrived at this property, we were speechless! The decor, cleanliness, VIEW, deck, accessibility were second to none. It looks even better in person
..wow! Deanna, was there to greet us upon arrival. She is the caretaker of the property, and lives very close. She too, was accessible at all times. We hope to the Exumas, which happens to be Paradise on Earth, and hope that Robert's property will be available for our stay. Words cannot express the experience we had! Thank you Robert!!!
This is a beautiful place to stay. We enjoyed the warmth of the house and plan on staying here again. I would suggest renting a car or having transportation planned for your stay but with views like this I cant imagine you wanting to leave that often. The owners of Smitty's (grocery store) were so helpful!!! Thank you Robert & Carla this place just like the island is a Gem.
This is a gorgeous, new, beautifully decorated, upscale home not far from the airport, restaurants and shopping. It's a joy to stay in and to come "home" to after the day's adventures. The kitchen has all the pots, pans and utensils needed to make meals, which we did twice in our 4-day stay. The bedrooms and bathrooms are wonderful. The owners, Robert and Carla are great, very responsive and helpful. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat!
About Exuma: The first night we got in late and just dropped our bags off and drove to Augusta Bay Restaurant Bar and had a nice meal. The next day we spent driving around the island and found the best market in Georgetown, Exuma Market. They even had some gluten-free items for me! We went on a full-day boat tour with 4 C's Adventures and it was a blast! We rented a little 15ft boat from Minn's Water Sports the next day. They give you a map and recommended snorkeling places, etc. We had an amazing time snorkeling and stopping at beaches along the way. We saw sting rays that hang out for hand outs right there on a beach. Then an adolescent dolphin showed up! I hurried to get my gear on and had the experience of a lifetime swimming and interacting with him! I still can't believe it really happened! No one can guarantee dolphin sightings but they do happen from time-to-time in the Bahamas. The last day we had lunch at Santana's, grabbed some baked-goods from Mama's Bakery next door and just drove around the island, shopping and exploring the incredibly beautiful beaches. We found a gorgeous, dried-out sea fan and stopped at Top II Bottom to see if they could ship it home for us. The price was over $60 so the owner and a local used cardboard to secure it so we could carry it on the plane home. It made it! They wouldn't even take payment, that's how nice Bahamians are.
Our only regret is not staying longer in this beautiful rental in the incredible Bahamas!
This home was perfect for our first visit to Exuma! The home was immaculate and was built with upscale features and materials and furnished likewise. We continually marveled at the porcelain floors and the spa-like bathrooms. We spent our mornings on the gigantic deck overlooking Hoopers Bay as we planned our activities for the day. An extra bonus to this lovely home was the central location. We enjoyed exploring the island and this location was just about equal distance to both ends. With that being said - you NEED a car if you are also an explorer and want to experience all the Exumas have to offer. (It is NOT a walkable or "bikeable" island) It is approx. 30 miles from the home to each end of the island. We also heeded some advice from a previous review and that was to get gas whenever you pass an open pump if you are even close to needing fuel. At times the pumps are unexpectedly closed, power is out or cars are lined up waiting for fuel.
Some of our favorite "do again" experiences were:
~Rent a boat from Mimms Boat Rental to spend a day on the water
~Walk Hooper's Bay Beach and swim with the turtles
~Tropic Breeze Beach Bar- Great Lobster bites, lunch, friendly family owners and great view!
~Santanos for Conch and Mom's Bakery for fresh baked bread
~Shoreline Beach Restaurant and Exuma Point for an Excellent Buffet and View on Sat. and Sunday
~4-C's Excursion for a day on the water and swim with the pigs
~Breakfast at Town Café to meet some locals in downtown
~Martin's Water Taxi to St. Francis Restaurant (must!) and Chat n Chill
~Haulover Bay Bar and Grill - Friendly Family Owners and BREATHTAKING View. (Drinks and Lunch)
~Catch A Fire (Wed.) and Peace n Plenty (Thurs) for Live Entertainment!
~Shirley's at the Fish Fry for anything on the menu!
THANKS so much to our hosts Rob and Carla for your hospitality and sharing your lovely Exuma home with us!
