About the property

Relax and refresh on a small, serene, pristine lake in Liberty Maine. Our lakeside cabin is a year-round home in the woods, with an open floor plan on the first floor and a master bedroom with floor to ceiling windows overlooking trees and water upstairs, and a second bedroom overlooking the front yard. Our recently remodeled gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with all the comforts of home, including a gas range, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and toaster oven, and it opens out to a dining area complete with a big farm table that seats 8. The living room has a large comfy sectional couch with a queen-sized pull out bed, tv/dvd with roku, stereo/cd, a wood stove, AC and propane heater. Two sets of sliding glass doors lead out to our deck, furnished with cushioned outdoor wicker, picnic table and a gas barbecue. The cabin also has wifi, good cell phone reception, a washer/dryer and a queen sized airbed.

Tranquil Cargill Pond has no public access and no motor boats. Our new large, beautiful dock has optimal exposure, with sunshine from mid-morning to sunset. We have a double kayak and 3 singles for your use, as well as floats, life jackets, lawn furniture and even a hanging hammock chair. The lake provides fabulous swimming, boating, fishing, dock-sitting, loon watching and extaordinary stargazing-- our dock is right under the Milky Way!

Our little town of Liberty is only 20 minutes from the charming coastal towns of Belfast, Camden and Rockport. There’s the best restaurant ever, (The Lost Kitchen) up the road in Freedom, and the new Amish community complete with big country store in Thorndike. What we appreciate most is the balance of restful peace and quiet in beautiful natural surroundings yet with great places to eat, shop and play only a short distance away. There’s a huge variety of great restaurants, great hiking and biking trails, state fairs, lobster festivals, music festivals, fabulous museums, galleries, antique stores and innumerable fairs depending on when you arrive. You may never want to leave, but don’t worry, maybe you can come back year after year like we do!

Awesome cabin!

This cabin was super relaxing! The pictures do not do it justice. Soon as you pull into the driveway your jaw drops in awe. I would stay there again and again just for the breath taking view and the comfort of the lake.

Better Than it Even Looks!

  • 5 of 5

I am not even sure where to start...perfect, quite, private, on small Cargill lake (next to Lake St. George) with little traffic and few other houses. My wife, pup, and I spent a week here and loved it. The house itself is well maintained, updated, and stocked with a cabin feel and two small bedrooms upstairs. Five minute drive to John's Ice Cream (some of the best ice cream I've had) or Liberty Tool Company. A two minute drive to the fun and funky Liberty Craft Brewery and Pub. Easy drive to mid-coast coastal towns. Andrea was wonderful and accommodating. Thank you!

Loved it!

  • 4 of 5

Lake ST George is one of the most pristine lakes, and my families favorite destination in Maine for swimming, kayaking, and listening to the loons. The property, right on the lake, offers most of the eminities of home, and the caretaker is quick to respond to whatever, if anything, you need with a smile. Our visit had gone by too quickly! And before we even left, decided 2 weeks were necessary for next year! Love Maine! See you next year!

We loved the cabin and will be back!

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful cabin so relaxing! So spacious! Huge kitchen all updated and with everything you need. Great dining room with more than enough space for everyone and the living area was really comfortable. There was three of us staying and we each had our own comfy spot on the sofa. The deck and furniture are perfect and comfy as well. I spent many morning out there reading. The dock is great because it's wide and very sturdy.

I cannot say enough about this cabin! We stayed somewhere else a few years back and were not happy and got lucky enough to find this treasure. Not only is it spacious and comfy and have everything you could need but its clean and well maintained!

We will be back!

Thank you!

A True Maine Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Maine and this cabin provided the real Maine experience. The cabin was very comfortable with just about all the amenities you could ask for. The lake is very clean and has little traffic which is great for kayaking, fishing or swimming. The location is also nice - not touristy, but within a 20-30 minute drive of coastal towns. Liberty itself has some nice features such as the ice cream shop and the man who sells lobster. Overall, a highly recommended place if you want peace and relaxation, but still have lots of options for activities in the vicinity.

Best Cabin in Liberty!

  • 5 of 5

We come to Liberty ALMOST every year and have rented many homes. This is a winner. The site is easy to get to, close to the little village of Liberty (check out the Tool Company, Liberty Graphics , the Museum and the Octagonal Post Office), not far from John's Ice Cream (necessary) . The house itself is beautifully finished with a fabulous kitchen, HUGE fridge, large dining area and open living space to a deck overlooking the lake. The laundry and big coat closet is integrated into this space so very handy. The master bedroom is amazing with vaulted ceiling and stunning outlooks of trees, again to the lake. You can pack in a couple or 3 kids in the second bedroom and every room is well appointed with reading lights, books and bedding. SUPER cozy. The cabin has many boats, kayaks and water associated to make the lake explorable. The wooded setting bears exploring and there are many many useful books about the area for exploration. ASk the owners where the close by lobster man lives and get your lobster/clam feast ON!.
